[Q] LG P350 - Which program is best for rooting? - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, as the tittle says I'm asking which program is best for rooting an LG Optimus Me P350? I have searched high and low for the best program, but can't seem to find a definitive answer.
Also the various superoneclick, z4root, unrevoked, gingerbreak and so on, don't have this model listed.
So can anyone confirm which program is the best one to use?
Moderator could you make an LG Optimus Me P350 thread, since it doesn't have its own and I see in post that it has been asked before?
Hope someone can help
With kind regards
JBJ

The programm hasn't any model listed, it's universal. This means, it's not specified to any device. Try that, btw, we need to know which Androidversion you're using right now.
And I think it's not allowed to ask for the best programm, but in the rules it only says: It's not allowed to ask for the best ROM/Kernel
Please press THANKS, instead saying thanks.

Sorry to say this, but as a senior member you should know that is actually not true since many of these programs has a list of phones they don't work with. My problem is that the model my GF is using, the P350, is not on either lists.
My other problem is that she is in the Philippines and I'm in Denmark - the need for rooting is so that I can install software on her phone and remote control it and set it up with Gmail and google play - then download skype to it! Since she has no idea how to configure the phone, but I do.
I'm just not an expert on rooting
And to answer the software question, its the stock 2.2.2 that the phone came with from factory.
But thank you for your input
With kind regards
JBJ
My own phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace plus S7500, which has no need to be rooted since it works perfectly.

use this tookit to root p350
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816199
also you can use this toolkit to install custom recovery

Thanx for that Ron, that is info I can use Btw, I can't post in that thread, so could you ask the antdking for complete procedure - for those of us who are new to rooting?
I think you need to set USB Debugging to ON(under setting->Applications->Development) but its not mentioned in the thread, so I'm not sure if its necessary or not. Could you ask antdking?

Hi. yes usb debugging needs to be on. as for all the procedures, there's a step by step guide built into the toolkit. It is all automated, and no ones experienced problems while rooting.
For what you need I don't recommend you put recovery on to her device
edit: also added enabling usb debugging to the thread to make it clearer. However it does say in the toolkit itself to enable it

Hi antdking and Ron G, thanks for that
Just another question, when finished rooting is it still possible to update the phone the normal way through LG's Software or do one need to use a program like Odin to do so?
I realize that if one updates the phone then it needs to be re-rooted after.

yes it can be updated, and yes it will need a re-root afterwards. but LG are unlikely to release any more updates now

Hi again, thank you for that info
Something else I got to think about, do you Turn ON the USB storage when connecting the USB cable to the phone, or do you leave that OFF?
Normally when you want to access the SD card you turn this ON.

Please help me guys! Urgent?

Hey, I'm new to the forum and I came here to desperately seek help on saving my tablet's life.. So It's obvious that I'm new to flashing too because today I tried to upgrade my android version to Froyo with Rockchip tools, I held down power + home buttons, I plugged in the usb, I installed the drivers and the program recognized my tablet. So I began flashing but at the middle of the process an error message came up that said something like: "can't continue flashing, restart process" or something like that, so when I unplugged the usb to restart the process, first I tried to boot my device and found out it could no longer boot neither it could be detected from my computer in flashing mode!! Plss tell me how can I fix this, my mom's gonna kill me..
Oh and I forgot to mention that afterwards I realised that the rom was actually not meant for my device ^^
PS I'm very sorry if I posted in the wrong place or if I seem pretty noob but it's kinda.. true Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
hmm... it might help if you tell people which tablet & model you are trying to fix
people here might be developer, might be techie, but i doubt any of us are mind reader

[Urgent] Rooting Optimus V (not-active)

I have an urgent question regarding rooting my new Optimus V (Virg Mob), that if possible, i could use an immediate answer for i have very limited time.
I recently purchased a like new, used Optimus V 2.2 o/s off a friend, that is currently not-activated on the Virgin Mobile network, but have been sending/recieving calls and texts through Wi-Fi apps such as Line2 and netTalk. Is it possible to use sublimewulf's method of rooting the opt_v without service (prefer one click root)? i understand that it says it must be activated, but im curious if Wifi will work just as good, or if there is a simple ''one click root'' method i could use. im just not sure why it must be active, im not sure what is done during the one-click method.
Can I root my Optimus V with a One Click root program/app WITHOUT service/activation? If so, could someone please point me in the direction of the download + instructions? Much thanks, its greatly appreciated for all future help- you have no idea..
Thanks XDA Dev team + members,,

Just click the thank button ;-)
Thank you very much, is it normal for the file to be especially large? not sure if the optimus could fit a 173mb file.
Also, what are the chances of this bricking my opt.v or ultimately destoying the operation of the phone??
Also, could you recommend a few ROM's? I heard cyanogenmod is rather popular, but what is it? whats it do- what makes it so special, i guess is what im trying to say. also, is it possible to put the new gingerbread o/s on my opt? would it run as smooth as it runs as is? thanks again, so
what would be a nice ROM to install, and where can they be found (free). also, what are the chances of this root device destroying my handheld, or bricking it? thanks again bro for the fast and accurate response! +thanks for sure!
Oh also,

I no longer support or care to support this is someone wants to take over and deal with this and the complaints go for it. It has not been tried on the 2.2.2 version of android in case you want to try it.

What is the meaning of this, under the fastbootroot thread? if this program at least works, why would he tag it as being deprecated? also saying he is tired of the complaints. please exp?
thank you. im trying to avoid the slightest bit of damage done to my new phone.
***EDIT::: Do i download the files (from the link you posted) to my phone, or my pc??
He means the complaints of him not working on it.
All you have to do is download this on your computer, as well as the LG drivers, and choose the [Full Package] option, and it will root your phone. Afterwards, see if you can get into recovery, and if not, run the program again and choose the [Flash a custom recovery] option.
Ive used this several times, never a problem.
Best ROM for me was Harmonia, which can be found on Android Central.
i tried both quickbootroot (your link/app posted above) , and also SuperOneClick v2.2, and neither one worked. I tried SuperOneClick, opened the program, and clicked [Root], (after connecting USB to droid, and turning on debugging), and it froze at Stage 2. How do i fix this, and what could cause it?
Im not sure if the cable im using is a charging cable ,or a data cable. i didnt think it would matter, but anyway, how can i tell, and would this cause it?
When i tried the quickbootroot, i opened the .bat file, the disclaimer came up, i hit [y] and enter, and it just went away- nothing happened...
I also ran the usb drivers exe on the computer (i hope this was right), and nothing happened from it neither.
What did i do wrong, and how do i fix this problem? I just want to root my device already...

[Q] Nexus S brick power off

Godd afternoon to everyone, I have a problem with my nexus s. as the title, broke the power button .. so out of the blue. I solved the problem by installing apk that allowed me to work around this problem .. so I decided to change rom: then download and install everything, just that when you install the gapps I realized that they were corrote! so I'm not part of the setup wizard, I can not access the options, I can not do anything at all and now I have a phone that is as good as a doorstop, since the only thing I can do is connect it to your PC as a mass storage . I tried using the adb without success to be able to start in bootloader mode but without success with "error: device not found". I do not know if the debug mode is active but do not think so! I do not know what to do I hope someone can give me good advice on what to do. Hello to all.
p.s. sorry for translation (google docet)

thanks to everyone for the availability, but in the end, having no solutions, I decided to sell the nexus s! If someone is planning to buy it, because it is able to repair it or maybe in order to use the pieces as a spare, it's on ebay with this title: Nexus s Model GT-IT9020T (i can't post any link)

Before you sell it.. I have a thought, couldn't hurt right?.. Nexus Root Tool Kit can take a "bricked" phone and re-flash to stock, oem lock and unroot.. There have been posts that said that flashing to stock has helped with the power button, assuming that it isn't actually broken and just needs reset.. So give it a try, you can PM me if you have questions..
Since you are selling it for parts, this could let you sell it as working, or you could keep it and close the sale..

[Completed] [Q][Help] Samsung Gt-i5500 Broken screen

Good morning folks. I'm Shadow, recently i found a old phone of mine that have a broken screen, and i know that it don't have the Debug USB enabled,it's all stock,no customization has been made on that phone. now,i need to recover the phonebook from that phone. they were saved into the Mobile's memory, not the SD,nor the sim, nor the Google Account. I've searched in the whole internet to a solution,i haven't find anything that can help me to enable the debug USB. i've found some tools that can might help me,like [email protected] and "Android Control". But those won't help me if i can't enable the USB Debug. Does anybody here have something to enable it? From the thread of the Android control tool i read that a kernel developer might help me to do it,but i can't find any.
I really need to recover that phonebook, there's a lot of people that i wan't to talk to,but i no longer have their number because of the phone.
Thanks a lot in advance, and sorry for the trouble.

PS: I'm new with these kind of stuff,so if anybody want to help, please,be patient.

Hello, and welcome to XDA Assist! Have you looked in Developer Options? If you go to Settings> About Phone> Build number and tap 7 times, you will have Developer Options available. In there, you will find the option to enable Android Debugging.
Good luck!

Hi! Ok, then you might want to try this: [Tool][Windows] Control a device with a broken screen. Now with touchscreen support!!. There is an explanation for what to do if you don't have adb enabled. And for future questions that you may have, you can ask in that thread. Good luck!

Hi, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
I'm interested in what you mean by "crushed." Sounds like something physical was done to it.
At any rate, unfortunately, we currently do not have a forum (or a tag) for your device. but there is a general-purpose thread. Please go ahead and register for an account, so you can post i other forums. From there, you will probably have best luck with the foll.owing thread:
> General discussion > Questions and Answers > [Q] panasonic p55
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Yeah, it sounds like the internal memory got borked, and without adb your options are quite limited.
As mentioned before, I would explain your predicament in the above thread (I see you have posted there already, can just edit the post to add the predicament). There won't be much of an audience, but it is better than the general help thread (and you have the advantage of bouncing ideas off someone who has the same device as you).
Hope this helps.
Thank you.

Not sure about the checksum compare fail (sometimes backups are specific to the serial number of the device), but here is info on adb:

Hope this helps.
