ADB connection problem - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I have a Probelm with Clockwerk Moon Recovery V5.8.1.8m
I wanted my Transformer (S / N 80) root again because I had him at Asus in repair, I'm so proceed:
- "1-Click Root Transformer" for root
- "1-Click Root Transformer" for CWM
- "Super Wipe" started for "Android_Revolution_HD-EeePad_3.4.3_3G"
- CWM update to "Clockwerk Moon Recovery V5.8.1.8m"
Since nothing works, CWM only recognizes the internal memory and I get no connection with ADB.
adb does not work, I already tried everything
I hope you can help me.
sorry for my english

When you r in nvflash/apx mode ( press power n volume up buttons together) screen is blank... so you won't see anything until you start rooting/installing cwm then you will see some lines on top left corner of your tablet in very small font... only way you know your tablet is in nvflash/apx mode is by noticing it on your laptops notification area( you will see apx device found).. use universal naked driver package to install apx drivers if windows fails to install required drivers...

I know how to get into the NVFLASH / apx mode and the screen is black, drivers will also be recognized, as I know
but I can not copy data to my Transformer
NVFLASH crash the drivers and adb server is out of date
always the same no matter what I test, other PCs, drivers or programs

[Q] Can't boot into Recovery, how to restore original one?

I'm trying to access recovery by power + vol down, it starts booting but gives me an error (the android with a "!" signal) and I just can't access it anymore.

I thought the original Recovery restored the internal flash back to factory settings. Before flashing CWM Recovery I remember using it a few times. Am I thinking about the wrong thing?

My tf101 is hanging on boot logo.

My tf101 was a bit hangy (force close messages) with the app Mobilevoip. So I thought let's reboot it. Now it's hanging on the Asus logo with the rotating thing at the bottom. I tried to keep the power button for 10 seconds no result(rebooting but still hanging). Volume down and cold booting still no result. Now I'm waiting until the battery runs out off power. The last things I did on my tf101 was installing tweetcaster. I'm running stock ICS with the latest updates but I'm rooted.
You have soft bricked your tablet. My advice is take your memory card wipe it clean and format it. Now add required ROM onto the MMC and reboot your tablet and flash the required ROM after wiping your system through CWM

Tried that but when I flash the rom I get status 7. And when I wipe everything it says it has wiped everything bit when I want to check if everything is wiped(by choosing a .zip from my internal storage) I still see all the folders. Please help....
Follow these steps and let me know...
1) download TWRP recovery from android development forum under Asus
2) take out your MMC and format it using your laptop.
3) copy the twrp.zip and the required ROM back into MMC, now plce the SD card back
4) get into recovery and flash TWRP.ZIP and restart
5) you will get new type of recovery and using it wipe your internal memory as well as factory wipe, dalvik wipe and cache wipe
6) install the required ROM
This might work, let me know and thank me if it works

This tutorial sounds good, but I have a similar problem. I can't get past the boot logo, both by normal boot and by going into recovery. The only thing I can really do is cold boot it. I tried easy flasher, but windows says that the device has malfunctioned, and it can't be detected. Is there a way to get past this? (I tried flashing a font with rom manager, but it never flashed, then got to how it currently is.)
Hey creed 10,
A device is hangs in boot logo (i'm presuming its hanging with Asus logo) as a result of bad flash which results in soft bricking of the device... I have few questions for you,
1) Did you wipe everything before you flashed the ROM ?
2) What recovery are you using ?
Since you can access recovery, do a full wipe (factory reset, cache wipe and dalvik wipe) then restart your tablet... this might fix the problem as OS will build all the data from scratch.
If above steps doesn't work then you have to do a fresh ROM install with a complete clean wipe and MMC format (I personally prefer this as it cleans my memory card)
PS: let m know how it goes thank me if all works out

I don't think I've installed naked drivers. And also, I can't access recovery at all. It hangs at boot logo even there. I didn't wipe anything because I tried to install a font with ROM manager. I'll try the naked drivers for easy flasher, but I won't be able to access recovery. (Touch screen clockworkmod)
Edit: Yes I have installed the naked drivers.
To get into recovery press volume down and power buttons together and as soon as you see something on the screen press volume up button.. this doesn't work you can always get into APX mode by pressing volume up and power buttons together... if your laptop doesn't install/recognize the tablet then remove NAD install the required drivers again....

You remove all existing drivers from your comp, clean your registry of any Asus leftover things ( type regedit in run command and search fr Asus and delete them) restart you laptop and reinstall universal naked drivers, I have used universal naked drivers many times without any issues..
Follow the same steps, plug your laptop to tablet let laptop recognise and install Asus drivers, then go to system tools and uninstall existing drivers, now update drivers manually by selecting the naked drivers..

[Q] Help with Flashing Rom on TF101

This is the first time I am flashing a custom rom to my TF101, it has ICS 4.0.3, kernel 2.6.39.4 and compilation 9.2.1.27. Tablet is rooted, and after entering the recovery mode by pressing on Volume Down and Power buttons and then Volume Up, the recovery mode IS displayed. I wiped data and cache.
I am using ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.1.3, When selecting “install zip from sd card” and “choose zip from sd card”, I am getting an error message that says: “E: unknown volume for path [/sdcard/], E: Can’t mount /sdcard/” and installation is stopped and return to the menu. How Do I fix it? Am I doing something wrong, or am I missing any step? Please advise.

At the time of writing this TWRP is currently the best recovery software for the TF101. If you're flashing a 4.2.1 (Jellybean) rom then it's the only recovery you should be using.

I tried following instructions to update APX drivers to Naked drivers, and then used EasyFlasher to root TWRP.
I reboot my tablet with Power + VOL DOWN buttons and then VOL UP, but it still boots into Rom Manager ClockwordMod? And I still can't even use backup or install zip for sdcard, it all ends up with "can't mount sdcard". Right now my "Device Manager" lists Asus Transformer APX Interface but no APX driver under "other devices".
This all started after my first data wipe with CWM...

Can your tablet boot ? If yes then what ROM are you using? If you can boot then download solid explorer and delete ROM manager.apk by browsing to internal memory/system/app
Since easy flasher is working use it to unroot your tablet and install stock ROM.. then if you like then root again...

That warning (not error) message "Can’t mount /sdcard/” should be harmless, I get it too and everything installs and works as it should.
If you insist on using a rom manager, download goo manager from the play store and use that, it works very well with the tf101.

All I can say is use easy flag and go back to stock, once in stock root properly and install TWRP. This method always served well for me. So ago and look for easy flash on android development thread of tf101. You need easy flash, universal naked/apex drivers, Asus stock rom. Good luck

[Q] asus transformer sort semi brick need help asap please...

ok so ive had my tf101 rooted since i got the thing over a year and a half ago, i was running the megatron rom which was cm9 based and everything was good. today i tried to flash Eos4 and i got F%$ked out the a$$. so i did my standard procedure which was put the rom and gapps package on my device and then i wiped everything (after making a nandroid) and flash the rom along with its gapps. then i went to reboot it then i got shot back into recovery...so i was like wtf. i then found a way where if i hold the power and volume down for about 10 seconds i could cold boot android and once booted fix this problem with my recovery. unfortunately when i go to boot into android my device just bootloops on the boot animation ( ive left for about ten mins just to make sure) then i was like oh well ill just restore my nandroid, but for some reason clockwork mod touch wont let me use my microsd card, and its also not letting me restore from the backup i made earlier, it says files not found. i tried to connect it to my pc so i could just factory reflash it but unfortunately it will not be picked up by my pc through adb or apx.
so here is my main issue,
i just need to boot into android one time successfully so i can change the location of some ROM files and fix this stupid recovery bull****.
or if i could some how factory reset the tablet completely then that would be fine too
or or i could flash a different recovery that actually worked (currently on CWM 5.8.3.4 installed from rom manager which i realize now to be a huge mistake)
and i've tried ever tool on this forum as well and nothing works because it cannot pick up my device.
*** one other side note i am running windows 8 pro 32bit through Vmware (if this can be problematic)
thanks for any help in advance
To fix this, you will need to get your tablet recognized by your computer via ADB (in recovery) or APX mode.
You could have a bad cable, or it could be the VM causing the detection issues.
Is there a way you can connect it to a computer running Windows natively?
Does your computer make the new hardware sound when connecting?
Once you get it detected via one method or the other, here are my suggestions:
APX - Use the Naked Driver 0.72 and replace whatever driver is being used. Then use EasyFlasher to install TWRP 2.2.1.4 (it blows CWM away, and can read internal AND external memory)
ADB - use the Naked Driver 0.72 and replace whatever driver is being used. Then download the TWRP 2.3.2.3 blob from the TWRP project: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/tf101
Call the downloaded file TWRP.blob.
Then run the following from your computer via ADB:
Code:
adb push TWRP.blob /sdcard/
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/TWRP.blob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
reboot
Make sure it is a normal reboot to complete the recovery. Then reboot to recovery and you should be able to see the external card (so long as it is formatted for FAT32).
Thanks for the quick response and it probably is because I am using vmware... Unfortunately I don't have access to a windows machine right now. But I will definitely try to find one

** edit I'm assuming it got stuck boot the apps because now a my directories seem F&#cked up too... It now goes sdcard/0/0/0/(everthing else)
That's because your recovery is not compatible with 4.2.1. TWRP recovery 2.3.2.3 or 2.3.3.x should be fine as federuco said, to fix the sdcard/0/0/... issue.
For the stuck at apps thing, usually it's because you didn't wipe everything when changing rom. Make sure to do a full reset, wipe cache dalvik and system.

Put your device in APX mode. To do so, make sure it's completely powered off (hold the power button 10 seconds), then hold down volume up + power for about 5 seconds. Do that while it's connected through USB. The screen will remain black so you won't see anything on the device, but you will hear a new device found in windows. Go in your device manager and look for either "unkown device" or "NVIDIA boot-recovery driver for mobile devices". If you see the nvidia one, right click and delete it; it should be come unknown. Right click the unknown device, install driver... navigate to where you extracted the naked drivers, and install.
Then use easyflasher.

[Q] Can't get into TWRP Recovery I've already installed

Hi,
I've tried installing the TWRP throught Goo Manager, tried disabling DMClient and cleaning the application cache through android's application manager, but when I power down then, press VOL-DOWN + POWER I find myself only 2 opstion, system wipe and android linux cold boot. It's like if I'm in the official Asus TF101 Recovery mode.
I've tried EasyFlasher way, but I don't know how to install the universal naked drivers.. So I tried entering APX mode with the normal windows driver and hitting the flash button on the EasyFlasher for TWRP. But still it won't boot to recover, just the old 2 options screen.
I've tried also the console way, (dd=if whatever...) and when I reboot the tablet it shows a blue loading bar under the EePad logo. But still no recovery at VOL+DOWN + POWER, just the freaking wipe data or cold boot scrren.
I've tried ROM Manager from google play and it says that I have both ClockworkMode and TWRP already installed on the tablet..
What can I do to install a recovery so I can change the ROM installed? The device is already rooted.

Yes it asked for root permission when I clicked to install OpenRecovery Script. I just saw your post in another forum right before you post your reply and realized that my ATX driver appears with an exclamation on the device manager, this must be why the EasyFlasher is not working... I must install the naked drivers
If you cannot get the naked drivers to install, it could be an issue with your USB cable. I had my USB cable stop working for data (MTP/PTP/APX/ADB) however it still works to charge using the Asus wall wart. New cable fixed it up straight away.

Hey man, do you know how can I discover the SBK from my TF101? My serial number is just... numbers.. no B70... no letters...
Am I looking it in the right place? (Android general configs -> about -> status -> serial number )
It is the sticker by the charging port if you didnt remove it or let it fall off. It is also on the original box if you have that.
I followed the procedure you described in your Guide, turns out my TF101 was SBK2.... It successfully flashed the TWRP and displayed that command prompt message. The naked driver was the key to it. Thank you awesome friend!:laugh:
