having the exact same problem when i tried to build my own ROM. stuck at boot logo

Les cuento lo que hice: seguí el tuto para hacer el puerto usando la rom de quarx del dia 120308, CM9-NIGHTLY-120308-Defy(hwa) y la version v4 2.3.16 de esta pagina: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383721. Ademas tuve que flashear el parche de bateria hecho por Auris en el post de cm9. Para la banda base de Defy instale un zip via clockworkmod.
todavia estoy testeando.
Que funciona?:
- Camara: fotos y videos (la primera vez no me anduvo, despues sin problemas)
- wifi
- Datos mobiles
- Youtube
- Almacenamiento USB
Que no funciona?:
- Sensor de proximidad.
- Sensor de acelerometro.
Acabo de termiar de subirlo por si quieren probarlo. El tema del acelerometro es bastante molesto. Espero que podamos encontrar una solucion. Menciono que despues de varias horas, casi 20, se puso un poco lento pero tras reiniciar se normalizo. Cualquier pregunta o sugerencia, soy todo oidos... u ojos. Saludos

Regarding the sensors you put these two files in etc \ permision?
android.hardware.sensor.proximity.xml
android.hardware.sensor.light.xml
: D
To see if it will be that.
If the orientation is going a step further.
Ideally, do it with the 2.3.23 and the 19/03/2012

I didn't do that. I already download 2.3.23 to upgrade and will try what you suggest. Theres no way that the 120319 works for me. Had to flash sbf so many time after flash that from. Thanks
No puse esos archivos. Ya baje la 2.3.23 para actualizar, y voy a probar lo que sugieres. No hay forma de que la 190312 me funcionara. Tuve que flash ear varias veces el sbf de froyo tras instalar mesa rom. Gracias
EDIT: I'm watching those files and both (base rom/ported rom) have the same.

I got the 05/03/2012 ocn start of Quarx but not those of Epsylon ..
Anyway we track and I think if we all contribute a little early we will have a cover for the DEFY miuiv4 at least as advanced as this CM9

I use almost all of the cm9 relesed roms, and the only one that give me problems was the 19/03/12. I'm using the 08/03/12 because works everything, and works very well in my defy. I'm still don't use any GB kernel rom for this port. Maby in other moment. If we could give a solution to the sensors, my rom will be very usefull. I'm using it for the las 24 hours. Battery drain a little more than cm9, but not to much. Depends of the use, right?
He usado la mayoria de las roms de cm9 liberadas, y la unica que me provoco problemas fue la 19/03/12. Estoy usando para este port la 8/03/12 porque funciona todo y anda muy bien en mi defy. Todavia no he intentado hacer este trabajo con las roms de kernel gb. Talvez en otro momento. Si le podemos dar una solucion a los sensores, mi rom sería muy usable. Yo ya llevo con ella mas de 24 horas. La bateria se consume un poco mas rapido que con cm9, pero no mucho, Depende del uso, no?

Froyo. La rom 08/03/12 de quarx tiene kernel cm7.
froyo. the quarx's rom from 05/03/12 has cm7 kernel

I don't know how you did it (could you tell please?) but mobile data are working fine! The ROM seems to run very well, and I think fixing the sensors isn't too hard.

the most hardest work i did was find a V4 rom that could make 3g work on defy. I try so many. Two of them give me mobile data and this one is the most stable. The rest was just follow the proxuser's post about porting V4. And thanks to mentions the app "display orientator". i didn't know about that and work great.

Ive just installed this, rom, i must say i do like it but i have 2 questions,
first it says its easier on memory, i seem to be using 100mb more than usual, is this normal?
How can i remove the yellow triangle on boot as well as the Lite'ning rom image on the boot screen?

well i wouldn't know about the memory because i don't pay that much attention to it, but i can tell you how to remove the yellow triangle.
use Chainfires triangle away, BUT use it only if necessary, because it can HARD brick your device and you won't be able to use it if that happens. you can find triangle away on XDA for free.. oh and btw it worked for me without a problem if you decide to use it, then also download chainfires mobile odin.. you dont have to use your ODIN on PC and you won't get the triangle ever again
as for the boot image you should use LRToolbox. i think i comes stock with LR 2.7.

Buenos dias el problema que he encontrado en esta maravillosa rom es que no me deja poner la hora manual,solo pone la hora automatica segun la operadora y yo al vivir en las islas canarias, tengo una hora menos que la hora peninsular.Muchas gracias y espero que me puedan ayudar porque la rom me gusta muxo.

Follow zigic's instruction and you'll remove the yellow triangle . Even though i didn't had this kind of error before , i know that it must have something to do with the phone or the rom . Because i seldom experience this triangle when flashing a rom , nor testing new roms . Anyways , Good luck to you for removing the yellow triangle thingy .

Good morning the problem I have found this wonderful rom do not let me set the time manually, just set the time automatically according to the operator and I to live in the Canary Islands, I have an hour less than the time peninsular.thanks and I hope you can help me because I like the rom.
I flashed Lite'ing ROM v2.7 onto my samsung galaxy s2 (which also runs ICS) and everything works except I can't connect to Kies via usb cable. I can connect via wifi, but not cable.
Any ideas ?
Greetings. I have problems with the app cellular calls are dropped within seconds of receiving it. Is there any way to solve this? it is the only problem I've seen in the ROM (Besides the already known as the recording in 720p, HDMI output and panoramic photography) and if not perhaps be resolved by changing the app, I know it's an app that comes with the system but not if it can change (and try changing the clock frequencies of the cpu but has not worked). :silly:

Con respecto a tu pregunta final el kernel de esta rom no permite overclok solo underclock y undervolt asi que por los momentos te recomiendo dejar eso sin cambios, el problema que tienes con las llamadas se soluciona de una sola forma, y es que a la gente aca les cuesta entender, en fin, vuelve a stock con heimdall one click o con odin, el que mejor trabajes, luego flashea el kernel que ics que empaqueto Qkster, combo 3 dedos para entrar al recovery y (OJO con esto)
1. format data/factory reset.
2. Wipe cache
3. Wipe dalvik cache.
4. Format system.
Luego install from sd card y instalar esta rom, esperar que se reinicie en recovery de nuevo, volver a instalar luego de eso instalar las gapps reboot y voila....
Seguro eso solucionara tu problema con las llamadas, saludos desde Vzla.

I bought this tablet on ebay for my daughter. But It came password locked and the guy that sold it on ebay does not remember the password.
I have tried multiple ways to boot it into recovery to do a hard reset:
- Volume Down + Power bottom
- Volume Up + Power Bottom
- Reset whole on the back.
BUT no recovery menu. It simply shows the funtab screen logo and then keeps booting up to the "enter password" screen.
There is got to be a way to recover from a forgotten password lock.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Found it!
I was able to reset my funtab, after hours of searching and messing around with it. Never did find a real solution on the web, I stumbled upon this method just by messing around:
When the device boots up and is on the screen where you swipe your finger across the screen to unlock it, press in the bottom right corner to reveal the time and wifi status. Click on it again, it will reveal a larger menu with settings on the bottom. Click settings, the menu will disappear and it will look like nothing happened. Swipe your finger across the screen to unlock it and VOILA! the setting screen appears before you, scroll down to backup and reset ect. etc. you know the drill. Factory reset!
This may work for other challenging locked devices, let me know if it works for you.

Swipe your finger across the screen to unlock it and VOILA! the setting screen appears before you, scroll down to backup and reset ect. etc. you know the drill. Factory reset!"

I have tried multiple ways to boot it into recovery to do a hard reset:
- Volume Down + Power bottom
- Volume Up + Power Bottom
- Reset whole on the back.
BUT no recovery menu. It simply shows the funtab screen logo and then keeps booting up to the "enter password" screen.
There is got to be a way to recover from a forgotten password lock.

I have exactly the tablet FTABCP - freeze on the splash screen with Android and all. Can't do a hard reset is no combination of keys does not help. How do You cope with this? Please help!

I just wanted to say thank you for this thread. I tried your procedure, but I couldn't get the full settings to show up. "Zoodles" kept taking up the whole screen, and I didn't know the PIN to exit it (I bought the funtab used).
But, I did find another way to get to the settings. I plugged the Funtab into my computer via USB. When the Funtab booted up, it brought up a screen asking if I wanted to enable USB file transfer. From this screen, I could click on the time and bring up the full settings menu, which had the factory reset option.
I realize this thread's a couple of years old, but if I found it by googling, maybe the next person will too. Good luck!

No problems with conectivity wifi,3g...
Very clear sound in speaker and a bit louder
Camera working great and video record too
Exelent work of video player from s2
Transparent statusbar with shades looks great and have no bugs
Internet is ultra fast now compare to stock rom
Viber,skype,facebook,google+ works great no bugs
The only things bothers me is short batery life from 70% to 21% after 2hours heavy use wifi on apps instaling setings testing work on social apps etc
And litlle confusing thing default root app on rom is SUPERUSER and not SUPERSU (i have realy bad expirience with superuser)
CONCLUSION NO BUGS!!! FASTER THEN STOCK!!!NO BLOATWARE!!!NOT TOO MUCH EYE CANDY) AND ULTRA STABLE FOR NOW
Two question for developer: is this realy android 4.4.2 ? And can you port fully working multiwindow on this rom?

Buenas noches, soy de argentina y voy a probarlo. Hace unos dias intente instalar el [MONSTER$] [BUILD 3] FoR GalaxY Core [I8262] y no funciono debido a que mi movil es un 8260L. Levante el backup desde cwm y sigo con la version 4.1.2 original que trae el 8260L en Argentina Liberado para cualquier compania.
Voy a instalar esta version de prueba en mi 8260L y luego pondre el resultado en este post. Desde ya muchisimas gracias por realizar estas Custom Rom para nuestros moviles.

Good evening, I'm from Argentina and I'm going to try. A few days ago try to install the [MONSTER $] [BUILD 3] For Galaxy Core [I8262] and it did not work because my phone is a 8260L. Lift the backup from cwm and still have the original version 4.1.2 brings 8260L in Argentina Released for any company.
I'm going to install this in my shareware 8260L and then will put the result in this post. From already thank you very much for making these Custom Rom for our phones.

Should have over the rom monster 3d gallery. Live video gallery and multiwindow. All other works perfectly and quickly.

Instala perfecto y es muy rapida. Hasta el momento tuve 1 solo bug que es que el telefono trabajando normalmente se queda colgado y hay que apagarlo y volverlo a encender. Todo lo demas anda perfecto, probe reinstalar de nuevo y el mismo problema. Esto me sucede luego de estar unos 15-20 minutos trabajando con el celu, no importa la aplicacion, se cuelga estes usando la aplicacion que estes usando.
Para instalar el custom rom realize 1º un backup con cwm, luego instale el zip desde el cwm y inicio perfecto. Note que las descargas son mas rapidas, el movimiento de pantallas tambien mas fluido y todo lo demas perfecto, excepto por el bug que antes menciono.
Alguna solucion? Te sucedio lo mismo?
Esta custom rom no es 4.2.2 es la version 4.1.2, o estoy errado ?

Download perfect and is very fast. So far I had only 1 bug that the phone is working normally hangs and you have to turn it off and on again. Everything else works perfectly, probe reinstall it again and the same problem. This happens to me after spending 15-20 minutes working with the cellular, no matter the application, hangs're using the application you are using.
To install the custom rom Realize 1 backup with cwm, then install the zip from cwm and start perfect. Note that the downloads are faster, but also the movement of fluid screens and everything else perfect, except for the previously mentioned bug.
Any solution? I happened the same?
This custom rom is not 4.2.2 is the version 4.1.2, or am I wrong?

Antes de instalar cualquier custom rom "siempre" realizar un backup desde cwm por cualquier problema que pueda surgir. Ahora estoy por hacer swipe y reinstalar de nuevo esta custom rom para ver si puedo dar en la tecla con el problema que hace que el movil se bloquee

Sigo con el mismo problema, instalo todo perfecto y en 10-15 minutosbde uso se bloquea. Antes le echaba la culpa a las app instaladas, en esta prueba no instale ninguna app y sin embargo se bloquea. Pantalla negra y sólo queda apagar y prender de nuevo.
Alguno pudo resolverlo?

@nolimithhm did you wipe cache l,factory reset and wipe dalvik? I dont have that hang problem rom working perfect after 1 day heavy use and 4 coplete caharge recarge battery))
