2nd core - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Is there an app for turning on and off the second core besides the terminal?

I use system tuner and force my 2nd core on at startup.

Why would u want to turn it on and off manually? Something called mpdecision had been pre-baked into every rom (stock or not) since the phone was released. It controls whether or not the second cpu is active depending on load. As long as u are using a performance oriented governor setting, when u start a game it'll automatically switch it on.

Phone keeps turning off/freezing

Running .42 kernel on ICS ROM, keeps just going completely black when idle in my pocket and have to take the battery pack out to restart. I think it's the CPU Master settings...?

What are you running if anything for screen off profile.
This is called sod
Screen off death.
Some experience it on some kernels others don't

Correct you need to use a different kernel.

Minimum CPU Frequency

So, on every TW ROM with whatever kernel combination no matter what I set my minimum frequency to, it always bumps it back up to 1020 whenever I go back into whatever app I used to set it with. Even if I just flash a kernel or a ROM and I don't mess with it, I look on CPU Spy and it says it's still set to 1020. Also on CPU Spy it says that it operates in frequencies lower than 1020, so it makes no sense. Anyone know anything about this?

Sounds like you have a benchmark apply or something that is over ridding your setting. I know kt has a lock frequency option, maybe look at others?

Go to the init.d folder and see whats in there and what the settings are. Also do you block mpdecision at boot? What kernel are you using? Try setting your cpu app to delay at boot

It's none of that because it still happens after wiping my phone and everything

Used to happen to me too, i solved it by setting system to mount r/w at boot and using only one app to lock my cpu setting and set that app to delay loading a couple seconds on boot. What app do you usually use to mod you min/max cpu settings?

I usually use trickster mod! What do you mean by setting system to mount r/w at boot?

I remember reading a post In synergy rom about CPU revs. And that certain revs you can't mess with the CPU.its some where in the thread.

I mean I set a script to launch at boot. I used rom toolbox pros scripter.
Oooh, well I'm back on AOSP and the problem doesn't exist. It only happens on Suckwiz

9105p auto power off

So I lock my phone. Put it in my pocket. And then after 15 mins or so. It's off. When I turn it on. It's fine.
This happened not just for once. But for many times
I tried wiping data. And sd card. Still no hope
I'm rooted on stock first Germany Rom.
Would be great if someone can help

SOLVED. Turned off power saving function
Sent from my GT-I9105P using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
yes, I had the same, power saving options reduce voltage on CPU and that makes it hangs and reset, for example if you would use undervoltage kernel then it will hangs and reset much more
I asked one of the kernel developer to develop kernel with voltage interface, then you can use CPU Tewaker from google play adjust voltage on certain frequences

Disabling second core

I dont get a very good battery backup.....i tried both phantom and thunderzap kernels.
The best i can do is that i run the phone at 810 Mhz with undervolted cpu .....i even lowered the brightness a lot more than the default limit.......now how about disabling the second core and run the core0 at 810 Mhz or say 1 Ghz ??? or maybe a little overclock.
Kernel tuner app doesnt help....same is the case with "2nd Core" app and "Xcore " app ......can someone help me ????

If u disable 2nd core u will hav lags.so its better not to do that.u should show it to the sony service centre to find whats making ur battery drain problem.maybe its battery prob dude

On which kernel you tested it? For me it works on ThunderZap 3.1 ultra kernel, see the screenshot.
Same kernel as urs

Make sure that SuperSu is up to date. Trickster Mode relies on it to execute and hold settings.

I flashed thunderzap again (i m a user of phantom ) .....this time it works ......its weird.....
Anyways , thanks a lot dude .....i ll post here after a day or two that how well this setting works ......is there no way to achieve this on phantom kernel ? Because all the point of disabling the second core is battery life and people say that phantom has got better battery backup .....no offence to thunderzap and i havent tested it personally
Have u been using the phone with just one core ??? If yes , then how isbthe battery ??
Sent from my C2104 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No I use both cores with Phantom 4.5
Since I don't game and only use my phone for mail, surf and calls my battery is really good. I can go for 1.5 days easily. Phone is slightly overclocked overclocked as well to 1.24Ghz
Try unvolting.. & unlock on events like call, screen off, playing music, etc.. Tasker might help you with this all..

Tasker is the best app in the market.. Value for money.. You do anything with it.. You just have to work a little bit on the start..

My battery drains really much pls can anyone help me what to do? Should i change powersave to onedemand? Im really frustated right now
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Free mobile app
Did you try force stopping apps that are running in background ? I change my cpu and voltage on mine. if you changed voltage , don't select set on boot and you need to run some apps and you can use a stability test app to see if your phone doesn't freese, restart and is stable.
You can look at this if you want to know about undervolting.

I already fixed it, i wiped my data in recovery mod now its all ok, btw thx for your answer.
