FAQ:
1 ) How do I install this
* Flash a kernel that support CWM like CF kernels
* Learn how to use CWM (clock work mod)
* Find the mod from link in 2nd post
* Download it and put it on your sd
* Boot to cwm and install mod zip file
* Reboot
2) What version should I download?
The mod must match your rom. Open phone app and call: *#1234#
Write down the PDA information.. If it says like N7000XXLA4 then its XXLA4.
Click the link for your rom and select odexed if its a stock samsung rom. Deodexed if its a deodexed
custom rom (deodexed are ROMs that have not been optimized so they do not have an external .odex file).
3) I use ROM XYZ. Can you make JKay Deluxe for it?
If the rom support you are asking for is an European ROM and its newer and better than the latest on the support rom list then please post the question. Otherwise the answer is NO. I only make this mod for versions I use on my phone (currently only the latest XX??? versions).
4) This toggle does not work, what should I do?
Not all toggles have been implemented yet. But if it should work and you just upgraded from an earlier version then you can try to clear the dalvik-cache, it might still hold the dex file from the old version. Or if you use a custom rom then the problem might be file permissions on the Deluxe Settings Shared preference file so try to clear the Deluxe Settings data using Settings->Applications->Manage applications->All->Deluxe Settings->Clear Data (Then use restore in Deluxe Settings to get all your settings back). Also try to install the mod again. Sometimes CWM has some problems applying mods and does nothing!
5) It does not work, please help?
Ok... Before you post questions like this please ask yourself: Does my question lead to other questions? Here are a few tips for posting questions.
* read all of this FAQ
* do a simple search
* be specific: never use words like 'it does' etc...
* make sure people are able to reproduce your issue
* specify rom version, custom rom name, kernel, theme name, JKay Deluxe version.
* if you use a version that was ported to a different rom (PDA version) by another person and have problems then never ever ask for support in this thread!!! Don't even mention the problem in this thread!! People might think that there are issues with my mod when in fact there are not!
6) Does this mod work with custom rom XYZ?
I only use stock odexed Samsung rom and kernel. I do not even test the deoxed versions I make. So questions like these have to answered by one else (try in the custom rom thread).
7) How do I customize the Phone Options dialog?
Use my Deluxe Settings app. Select 'Edit phone options' to select which items you want to have on your
Power options dialog: Vibrate On/Off, Wi-Fi on/off, Bluetooth on/off, Auto-rotate on/off, Background
data On/Off, Auto sync On/Off, Auto-Brightness On/Off, Use GPS Satellites on/off, Mobile AP on/off,
Screenshot, Reboot, Recovery and download.
8) How do I customize the JKay AOSP Deluxe lock screen?
Use the Deluxe Settings app to change the lockscreen to JKay AOSP Deluxe. Select 'Edit actions'. Press a shortcut to select what application the shortcut should launch.
Use option menu (menu button) when on the app list to select 'Unlock' action if slider should unlock, 'Not in use' if slider should be hidden, 'Flashlight toggle' if you like a flashlight on your lock screen or select 'Sound toggle' if you like to be able to toggle sound on and off from the lock screen.
Long press shortcut to select a custom icon for it from gallery.
It's also possible to change the icon for missed phone calls, missed messages, Flashlight on, Sound off and Vibrate on by using the option menu on the shortcut screen. But you need to have Phone, Messaging, Flashlight or Sound on/off on the lock screen to see them in action
9) How does Deluxe Settings Apk work?
JKay Deluxe Settings apk writes settings to its own shared preference file in its data folder. Then it
sends an intent to tell the modded framework to read the new settings from the shared preference file
into its static variables. The modded framework then uses these variables to work as you decided!
The apk does not run as a service!
To uninstall Deluxe Settings apk use the Restore.zip for your rom.
Deluxe Settings apk will not work from sd card!
10) My Theme is gone!
JKay Deluxe contains new icons for the Quick Settings panel and the Phone Options dialog therefore
these icons have been included into SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk. JKay Deluxe stock mod contains
stock Samsung icons (plus the new icons I have made in the same stock style).
11) I would like permission to theme your mod, is that ok?
Sure go ahead. But you are only allowed to change xml and pngs! Remember to credit me! And please test themes containing my mod good before releasing! Think about png resolution and sizes... Use 8bit pngs! Make sure your compilers supports xhdpi, only edit decompiled nine patch pngs... and don't compress the resources.arsc file! While it might work it will actually slow down your framework as Android has to decompress it!
12) Auto Brightness Profiles does not work
When you select a different Auto brightness profile then it wont take effect until the light sensor
detects a change in the ambient light level.
13) Why does it say 'Custom kernel required' when I change Auto Brightness Profile?
The stock samsung kernel only supports brightness values down to 20. If you use a value lower than 20
then 20 will be used. Therefore I have put a * next to the profiles with values lower than 20. The
brightness resolution on stock kernel is also not very high. All values from 1 to 29 all gives the same
brightness, all values from 30 to 42 all gives the same brightness! That gives about 20 different
brightness levels when going from 0 to 255!
14) So what custom kernels support these lower brightness values?
I have no idea. When you find one then let me know and I will put it here.
15) What is the 'Secure mode' quick settings toggle good for?
If you have to use PIN lock screen because of security reasons... Usually because an Exchanges server
requires it enabled to sync email at work etc... then you can use this toggle to disable the pin
lockscreen and still be able to check email without the need to enter your pin all the time! The normal
lockscreen will then be shown instead (or no lockscreen if that is selected!)
16) What does the 'Screen On' quick settings toggle do?
If you like me like to read articles on the phone before going to sleep and you do not want to change
the default screen timeout. Then the temporary screen timeout setting is for you! It will reset back to
your normal screen timeout when the screen turns off! Or you can use the custom screen timeout if you
quickly wants to switch between default and custom timeouts.
17) What does the toggle 'Show when secure' under 'Set lock screen options' menu do?
In JKay Deluxe it is possible to have both the unlock screen (pattern, pin etc..) and the JKay AOSP Deluxe lock screen active at the same time.
First the lock screen will be shown. From here you can start the Camera, Music app or just slide to unlock and then the Unlock screen will appear from where you will have to enter pattern or pin etc... This way you can still enjoy the JKay AOSP Deluxe lockscreen while having a secure phone.
18) Where is the source code?
There is no source code! Well actually you already have the source code. Baksmali the files from the mod and do a compare with the original framework files. That's what I do. Remember the XDA rules! You must ask for permission first and you must credit the developers if you release anything!
19) How do You do it?
I use TotalCommander, 7zip,baksmali, smali, dexopt-wrapper, apkManager and notepad++ for the smali code
editing.
I use Eclipse and Android SDK for the Deluxe Settings apk.
And Adobe Photoshop for the new PNGs. I use pngout.exe and pngquant.exe to convert between rgb and 8
bit PNGs.
20) I want to learn to do what You can?
Well. You need to learn Java. And you need to learn to edit smali code. You also need to learn XML and the tools I use. Then you need to study the Android SDK and Android Dev Guide. It might also be helpful to learn about 8bit PNGs and Nine-Patch PNGs. Google search is your new best friend!
21) How do I contact you?
You can use my donate email address. I have turned off PM because notification does not work in XDA premium.

This is one of the most inovatively Developed material on Android!
its not just a theme its much much more!!!
its not a ROM, more like a Super Controllable Theme MOD (Android Framework MOD), and i mean each and every aspect of it is controllable
If i had the power i would have made this a Sticky post on every portal on every android forum!
This is something thing is truly original development, and appretiate the dev's work instead of talking about where the thread is supposed to be.
It is exactly where it is supposed to be!

If you didn't flash the rom yet...you will regret it. It's the most featured and most innovative semse rom out here on the HTC One X forums.
Some user comments:
I have been pretty silent on the the 'ROM Scene' as of late, but I feel obligated to say that this ROM is BAD ASS!!!
If you are a doubter or have been faithful to any other chefs ROMs...

Q: Whats the md5 sum thing?
A: It ensures, that the rom is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid weird issues when installing/using the rom. Google for "md5 sum checker" and you should find what you need.
Q: My phone stucks on HTC splash screen
A: "fastboot erase cache" in fastboot and flash the boot.img or use the boot.img flasher provided here.
Q: Whats the boot.img. Why we need to flash it?
A: The boot.img is the kernel and have to be flashed if you want your rom running well. HTC Dev Unlock doesnt allow to install the kernel directly when installing the rom in recovery, thats why you need to install in manually.
Q: I found a theme or mod, will it work on this rom?
A: It's NOT recommended to use mod/themes that dont clearly state, that they are compatible with our rom. Thems/Mods always use framework files which will brake mods/stuff in our rom.
Q: My question is not listed here, what to do?
A: Ensure you used the xda search, google and your brain before asking a question in the thread. If you cant find an answer yourself we will answer your question for sure! (-:
Q: Whats that cm statusbar brighntess mod?
A:
Q: Whats the Ultra/smooth rosie?
A: Your HTC Widgets got some kind of 3D effect which may make your Rosie laggy. You can see that 3D effect clearly on the HTC 4x4 Weather widget.
Smooth: Flattens all widgets besides the one you start scrolling
Ultra: Flattens all widgets for best performance
Q: Why does my swype2unlock doesn work?
A: Seems you mix up sweep2wake from shows bricked kernel with swype2unlock
sweep2wake is kernel related and makes it possibel to turn screen off and on by swyping your finger from back to menu key.
swype2unlock isnt a kernel feature. it makes it possible to unlock your lockscreen intead of moving the ring by sliding your finger from back to menu button and NOT to wake your device and put int into sleep.
Q: The cube effect isn't working on the app drawer
A: The cube effect just appears when you swype from the all over the frequent to the download tab.
Q: Volume wake isnt working after some time when the device is in deep sleep.
A: This is a kernel issue, no way I can fix it in the rom.
Q: I have problems ending a call, problems with lags when making a call.
A: Some users reported that its related to the fine/finest volume tweak. Set it to normal to fix your issue.
Q: I need someone repackaging a kernel
A: Kernels dont need to be repacked for our rom. We dont have ramdisk tweaks. So you are abel to flash teh kenrel straight from the kernel devs thread.
Q: I have problems ending a call, problems with lags when making a call, or low volume issues.
A: Some users reported that its related to the fine/finest volume tweak. Set it to normal to fix your issue.
Q: I have no data/phone connection after flashing the rom?
A: In the aroma installer please select custom installation and check the box which says: "Change to original GSM/WCDMA Mode for network"
Q: What are the correct sizes for the App drawer and notfication pulldown background?
A: Try 720x1280.
Q: What are the correct sizes for custom carrier logo?
A: Try 100x100
Q: Will there be CRT On/OFF support in the next release?
A: NOT possible, because HTC changes some required code in their libs, that makes it impossible.
Q: Several HTC Widgets are missing - can't add them to my homescreen.
A: Settings->apps->all apps: choose htc sense and clear data.

It's AOSP with a bunch of options in it. I've ported Paranoid Android, AOKP, CNA, and Xenon JB to the Photon (Phone I own) so far and this one has the most options and tweaks to it. It's really nice, and my personal fav...has the best batt life on my phone, too
Not sure what mtd or bml is....sounds like something that's related specifically to this phone...

It is the filesystem. I'm guess if you built off jt's new kernel source it will be mtd. I asked because if it is bml, then cm10 users would have to Odin back to stock to install. I'll test out and report back for you. =]

Any screenies and procedure how to flashed this rom...i never seen in the OP
Well, I'm guessing that I'm gonna end up being the only one to have this particular issue, as my phone seems like it may have some kind of radio gremlins. However, I just installed this ROM and I have a completely dead radio after install. I tried several clean installs, wiping data, cache/dalvik, system, and running qkster's wiping zip afterwards for good measure. All left me with no radio after installing.
I tried to change my APN settings- More..> Mobile Networks> but as soon as I click Access Point Names, I get an error message "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" I don't do ADB, so I grabbed a logcat app from Play Store. It's my first attempt at one, so hopefully there's something useful in the attached file.
**EDIT**
My initial install was coming directly from GB. Apparently you HAVE to flash this ROM over an ICS ROM. I went back to stock UCLB3, via Heimdall, then flashed Paranoid Android over that. Installed CNA over Paranoid, and I actually had cellular and data signal now. However, I'm still getting the same error message when going into APN settings.
Haven't done too much testing so far, but it seems fairly smooth and responsive. I still get the same erratic signal strength that I've gotten from all the other 4.x. ROMs I've tried so far. At any given time, it's likely to start out with 1 bar, jump up to 3 bars, and then drop down to none, all in the space of under 10 seconds. Gonna experiment with flashing some different modems, but that's been pretty useless with other 4.x ROMs I've tried.
This sounds great, is the link for the download up yet cause I can't find it.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using Tapatalk 2
Damn you guys!! I'm loving MIUI, but knowing the work Th3Bill does, I will have to try this ROM.
Question for Pony: Since I am coming from MIUI 2.8.10, all I should have to do is the usual wipes. Is this correct?
Guess I'd better reread BigJoe's instructions, just in case I screw something up!!!

Multi window sometimes doesn't pick the correct app. A work-around is if it starts putting in the wrong apps, scroll to the top of the list and put the very first app in the bar, after that it should work again. User help.
If this doesn't work please use the Aroma MW app in Misc, or use exposed frameworks.
Lidroid toggles may become out of alignment, turn on auto-rotate, open an application that rotates, and rotate the phone, then once you rotate back, it'll go back to normal. Very rare.

FAQ:
Q: Tethering is not working? What can I do to get it to work?
A: First remove any .apk of TrevE's first. Then please download THIS .apk kindly provided to us by TrevE.
This is NOT a flash-able.zip, put the .apk and on the root of your SD-Card/ Internal Storage, and install the .apk
Once installed, (make sure WIFI is OFF and 4G is ON)
Click Menu > Access Control and click the button that says "enable" - it should now say at the top "Access-Control is enabled"
go back to the .apk
Now, tap Yellow Tethering button
Then, connect your Device
On the phone, you will see in the notifications pull down the Device you are trying to connect, click it (in the below images, mine is "Andrew-PC")
You will be brought back into the Menu > Access Control part of the Tethering.apk
Now authorize the Device Access by clicking the device under "Connected/Authorize Clients:" and press apply
Tethering should now be working.
Here are some images to help show the instructions and how things should look.

Q: When using Stock E-mail application and scrolling though an E-mail, the screen flashes black, how do I fix this and why does it happen?
A: Go into Settings > Developer Options > and UN-Check "Force GPU Rendering" to fix the issue. This is not a fault to the ROM, but to all our 4.1.2 ROMs, nothing can be done to fix it besides what is described above. GPU Rendering is hard coded into the ROM anyway.
Q: How does native call recording work?
A: When on a call, or during an incoming call, works for both, press menu > sound record. You can find the sound recording in SD-Card > Sounds.
Q: How do I change the day of the week size, move the clock or remove AM/PM from status bar?
A: All of this is part of Didact74's great clockMod2.0 MOD, and you can find the settings to change size/remove the AM/PM/Day of Week, and can move the location of the clock in Settings > Date and Time.
Q: Where are all the custom kernels!?
A: I had to make a choice for kernels, and I chose not to include them. I cannot and will not support any: random reboots, bad battery life, overheating, etc. once you flash a custom kernel. Anything related to those types of issues are not related to the ROM and IS kernel related. However, If you'd like to use a custom kernel, please do. A great tutorial for using custom kernels can be found HERE.
Q: I want *X* feature included into the ROM, will you do this and if not why?
A: This depends. I will ALWAYS take all opinions, options and feedback into consideration. If I am capable, skill wise, of doing the work then I will do my best to provide this feature to you. I cannot promise though, that I can achieve every goal set forth in front of me but I promise I will do my best to make every one happy.
Q: I use the PIN lock screen but also want to use the torch home button lock screen MOD, how can I do this?
A: BEFORE setting up the security lock screen, make sure to CHECK the toggle for this MOD found in settings > lock screen > lock screen options > Lock Screen Torch
Q: I just flashed v** and it's show v** what do I do?
A: I sometimes forget things, and if it's showing the wrong build number please check the Add-On's section.
Q: I picked the Simple Alarm Clock Widget in Aroma and it's showing up all black, what is going on!?
A: Please download the appropriate Add-On.
Q: What is "Blocking Mode" and how to do get to it/use it? Also when using it, how do I remove the annoying persistent notification?
A: Blocking Mode is a feature that comes with the Samsung Galaxy S3, but Verizon made Samsung take it away from us. Most of the coding was already in the ROM. Just some certain things were not working. I was able to port the missing smali code over to our VZW applications to make this work 100%.(Spent a total of over 40 hours to get this coded..) To access Blocking Mode, go into the app drawer and open "AdvanceS" then select the toggle "Dormant Mode" (this is Blocking Mode) you will now see the toggle for Blocking Mode with the rest of the toggles. You can Long press this toggle to activate Blocking Mode, or toggle it and select the notification in the pull down bar. To remove the persistent notification I added the option to toggle this on/off. In the settings you will find a toggle, check, or UN-check this. Here is what it looks like.

Q: Why would you ever remove the Battery "On-The-Fly" MOD!?
A: Good Question. I really do love ALL of Didact74's MODs and I hated to have to remove it. It's a great MOD, made by a great DEV who is more than willing to share his work, . It was a choice of personal preference though. Unless you change your battery every day or so, flashing the provided .zip honestly takes about 45 seconds total from reboot to Aroma, and then back to ROM. There is no need to wipe anything, and the .zip also allows for other status bar changes such as battery color, and lidroid toggle options. Also, it was removed for future battery additions. To add a new battery into Aroma only requires a few minutes to edit the scripting. This is much easier than having to edit the Settings.apk AND the SystemUI.apk .smali codes, and add all the new images. This also keeps the size of the SystemUI.apk down, and I can edit it and re-compile much faster. With all the batteries baked into the .apk it would honestly take over an hour to compile, so if I had to change just one simple thing it would take forever, and having multiple versions of the SystemUI.apk (2 for just the Aroma brightness slider alone, between the ROM/Theme and Add-on.zips there is about 8 SystemUI.apk's I need to keep up-to-date) s0 it just wasn't working out, and I also think that this Aroma is working great. Aroma is very cool, and easy to understand, and also allows the user to edit things.
First, will check this out. Thanks!

Thanks for the 1 star vote. It's great to know that you're still a troll.
Good to see you release your rom Andy, you have always been one of the most helpful and willing developers on this site.
Just in time for me to use... Been tired of flashing a hundred different roms every other day time to settle on one.

It would be helpful to know what "bloat" has been removed, the name of the ROM would imply that a lot has been removed, but one person's bloat can be another's necessity..

Sorry I should have been more specific, the bloat is baked into Aroma. I made that .zip before I made the ROM, just wanted to give the option for it. If there is anything I left out and isn't in Aroma it's in the bloat.zip but I can gladly add it in to Aroma, but I don't think I missed anything.

Must just be a coincidence every time I make a new thread you are the first on scene to give it a rate of one star.
Thank you all the same though.

Good question, I'll update the OP to say what's in Aroma.
But, Aroma has option for stock, 5x4 and 5x6 layout launchers.
For the AOSP theme, i had to disable ripple effect before installing the theme or otherwise you can't boot into the rom. After that it works fine.

No problem. Thats why we are on custom ROM.
All excitement is just before making everything working.--afterwards no charm
Do anyone faces issue with Bluetooth connectivity ? Like calls getting disconnected while on Car bluetooth ?
How did you get this to build. I was getting constant build errors.

Is this working for anyone? any issues? screenshots please?
Sooti I'll post some screens when my friend could install the ROM. Maybe during this week, sorry for the delay.

Very nice, modded it for t0lte and installed it on my N7105. Works superb. The only bug i#Ve found until now is the show GB option in the recents setting. If it's on the systemui fc's showing recents. Well, if you continue building this great rom, could you provide a t0lte version, too?
.
After installed your rom I lost carrier signal ....I didn´t find any solution for that, because I didn´t find any modem for 4.4.2......flash back to HellKat and everything is ok now
Same thing Here. No carrier signal.
The ROM is having so many features and very nice.. But you can't use it.. As a phone ..

Yup I think I can fix it, i used a file 'cbd' from my phone,
if someone can use a file manager and send me the cbd file from the folder: sbin/
that should solve the issue, just use root explorer, go to root folder, then sbin/ and there is a file called cbd there,
copy it somewhere and send it to me and it should fix the radio issue
Could you use the file from t0lte, too, is it the same? I've used your build to make a t0lte build, it works great and wirh baseband.
