[Q] Help Regarding a Rooted & ROM'd Captivate

I want my Captivate to have the leaked 2.2 software. Since I currently have a ROM flashed on my phone as well as a lag fix, what are the steps to get my phone prepared for the 2.2 install? Do I need to somehow unflash the phone to a stock ROM?
First u need to undo the lag fix!!! If your on 2,2 you will need to use Odin to flash a 2.1 kernel and use clock workrecovery. If ur on 2.1 you cab just go threw you clockwork recovery the files u need r in the captivate develpment and hacking section there pretty easy to find doesn't matter what rom u use either one can flash over what u have

Hi I just updated my lg - g2x with gingerbread released by t-mobile, my phone which was rooted earlier is not rooted anymore and i have tried all available versions of super one click but none is working. please help i need to try other roms.
Wrong place to be posting this... And there already are tons of threads on this...
But all you have to do is re-flash Clockwork Recovery, and install any ROM you'd like... Preferably a tweaked 2.3.3 OTA ROM.

How to go back to Stock Rom?

Hello,
My device has rooted Android Gengerbread OS and I want to flash a stock rom for the device so I can update the rom to Icscream version. Is there any stock rom (with the original recovery) as zip flashable file?
Please help.
Thanks
Why don't you just flash the new ics ?
Hi,
You can get the stock rom for your device from the below thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063664
The thread also has links to stock ICS roms, in case you are interested
Do note that your ROOT will go once you flash the stock rom - i think that is what you intend to.
Thanks,J

[Q] A question regarding flashing ROM

Hi all. I'm sorry if this has maybe asked before, but i've read several guides and topics and didn't quite get it. What is the difference between flashing a rom via Clockwork mod and odin? Currently I have Lite'ning Rom v6. 1 XXKH3, KERNEL version [email protected] #20 and I was wondering what are the right steps to change to another custom rom(I have a galaxy s 2 and i was planning to try a ics rom). Thanks in advance
from what i have gathered through flashing roms on my sgs2 odin if for official samsung roms and CWM if for home made roms but i may be wrong
Thank you for your reply. So if i want to go back to stock firmware I shall use odin and clockwork for custom roms? Anyone else can confrim this?

Thanks, but I think we can make Root/Un-root with SuperOneClick if I'm not wrong.
But it's not working on 2.3.6 it'Is temp and this Is permanent....
superoneclick works perfectly on froyo...
and update.zip method works for gingerbread...
and I believe that update.zip is the same for all gb roms, rather than just ddkt3 or kt1...
btw, wrong section...
Someone told me that , we can't Get permanent root on stock rom 2.3.6 ddkt 3 , so I posted this thread , and this is development to fit......
A section is Correct .....
no my friend, you are mistaken, its not development...
this method is really common, and has been here since a very long time...
its also there in the general section, from ages ago...
