Hope someone can help me.
In the process of removing the motherboard to resolder the power connector, I accidentally popped off the socket that connects to the volume/power switch. This is the socket that is soldered to the motherboard itself.
Can anyone tell me what the designation of that socket is? It is a 4 pin surface mount socket, but is there a number? I want to try to solder a new one on, but the metal pins that were soldered at the end of the socket broke off. I want to go to an electronics store in San Antonio and try to find a replacement.
Also, I have watched all the surface mount soldering videos on youtube, and I think I am up to the task (will use a fine point solder iron and a jeweler's 10x Loupe. Can anyone give me any pointers on soldering that socket? It looks like it was soldered on by two metal tabs at the end of the socket and the individual contacts were just in contact with the contacts on the board (not soldered that I can tell).
Thanks for any help you can give in advance
Hi
I have major problem with my tablet and usb socket has been pried from board have taken a quick look at damage and a replacement or solder of new one is out of question and metal contacts on pcb has been damaged also.
I am wondering if anyone knows a way of bypassing so I can still charge.
Can I bypass the small circuit board where USB connector is and hard wire battery connections directly onto USB itself.
This tablet has always served me so well dont want to give up on it just yet as cant afford a new one.
Fairly confident with soldering etc just curious as to whether it will work and best way to wire it up
Need some fast help. I have to have this fixed in the next few hours.
I replaced the glass on a verizon s3 but i took the whole phone apart to ensure no uv glue seeped into the device. When i popped off the antenna the connector on the main board came with it. It does not look like there is any copper left to solder it back on. Anyone know a way to fix this? Can i solder the wire to big antenna connector beside it? Any help would be very very appreciated.
Never mind. I fixed it by running a wire from the antenna lead to the r1 antenna port.
Hello,
The USB port of my Samsung Galaxy S3 is broken. I bought a new one and tried to do the repair. By loosening the USB port (the broken one), the connectors of the circuit board have taken off and therefore I cannot weld the new USB port on the motherboard.
I would need the complete pinout of the USB port (11 pins) as well as a diagram of the motherboard to know where I can solder bridging cables from the USB port pins to specific locations on the motherboard (which is done normally by the brass paths on the printed circuit).
Thank you

Greetings and welcome to assist. Unfortunately this isn't the sort of thing we do at assist and would have no idea where to get the diagrams. It is probably best to contact a service centre for advice

For this android head unit, it came with the 20 pin that only has 2 RCA out channels.
Based on the schematic, the RCA-RR and RCA-RL are both on RCA pinout C. (See image).
This pinout is for an 8 pin connector.
For the life of me i can not find this connector anywhere.
Does anyone know wher i can get one?
I beleive the connector i need is the other image attached. But again, no idea where i can find it.

Only ten thousand to go... Happy hunting
PS: Or trying "2x4 pin connector" at ebay (search worldwide!) or aliexpress

Why not reach out to the manufacturer or seller of the unit and advise them that the needed connector for the rear speakers was not provided with the unit? Did you buy the unit used?
