Hey guys, I am pretty new here and was wondering if there was anything that I could do to make my battery life longer. The only reason why I wanted to root my phone was so that I could save some battery life and not have to worry. I would say that I do use it a lot, but would that really effect how fast the battery is gonna go out on me? Like I said I am really new and don't know much about the rooting process (my friend helped me get the ROM on my phone and rooted/s-off, all that good stuff). So if you guys could just let me know if there are any things I should be looking for or what I could post on here to see if I can keep my battery up and running longer.
Thanks abunch.

Thanks, I will try that, what does that actually do for the battery? I remember when we first put the new ROM on the phone we did that, but never have I done it after that. Thanks for the reply as well.

That has nothing to do whit the battery ...
And to OP best thing to do is turn brightness down you might aswell want to get extended batterys such as ankers..
They work really good and last twice as long as stock one

Yeah I am using the stock battery, but I have been seeing people using the stock battery and being able to last a really long time. Do you guys think that it may be the fact that I leave it charging for long periods at a time? I usually go to sleep with the charger on it.
Use a different ROM. Cyanogen Mod does not give good battery life, never really has for the Sensation.
try Virtuous Inquisition

Do you think it would be an easy process for me to do that? Mind you I really don't know much about rooting and stuff, do you think I would have to change the radio and the drivers at all?

Did the friend that did all the magic for you clear the old battery stats after flashing the ROM? If not, this can problems with battery life.
If you don't know, just download an app called Battery Calibration. Charge your phone til it's at 100%, hit calibrate, and unplug the phone.
This clears the old stats and allows the new ROM to build new ones.

I'm looking for a rom that has decent speed and is stable but has great battery life to last me atleast a day.
Thanks
Probably one of the ROMs that has Sense 3.0 removed because that chews through my battery.

Lol, I haven't tried out any of the other ROMs except for Revolution HD. I like sense and that one still has it included in the ROM. I think it is going to be pretty tough to get a long lasting battery for this phone due to the 4.3" LCD screen.
If it helps, I am on 67% remaining battery after 5 hours. I have been playing with it quite regularly and made a 10 minute phone call.
Just search for cwmr 4.1.0.4 fixed. It charges phone when off.
Yes, download & flash the new recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=675255&stc=1&d=1312334573
Then, whilst in recovery use this ADB command:
adb shell cat /sys/devices/platform/htc_battery/power_supply/battery/status
That will tell you for sure if your phone is 'Charging' or 'Discharging'
If it is charging, you should be fine. If not, try another recovery, or revert back to stock Recovery everytime you change ROMs (this can be a pain).
Leedroid for now. ;-))

crystal pyramid. ive tested 90% of roms out there. this one seems to perform best and give good life
Well,I' ve seen many people ask this question, on random forums, so I'm just copy-pasting a post I made somewhere
else, and that's just about it.
Anyway, why do all of you prefer going after other apps that do all the work for you?. Anyway, seeing as none of them ended up working for you #evil laugh# , you could always do this.
TheWeirdOne's guide to battery calibration,
for dummies.
1) Get your battery charged (yes, that's a
hundred percent , to you)
2) Now, I'm assuming that all of you have a
version of CWM that replaced the crappy
stock recovery, so boot into recovery.
(Now, each phone has a different zip for flashing cwm, so I guess you'll have to hunt that out by yourself, anyway -__- Mine's
running on a version of five, but four
should work swell, too)
3) Now, go to Advanced, and then choose
'wipe battery stats.'
Ta-Da, and that's about it! . Oh, and
another thing. Once you Do that, DO NOT, I
repeat, do not charge your phone, just wait
for the battery to run out, and that's about
it.
Ps. My phone lasts for about one-and- a-
half to two days, right now, and that' s not
on standby, to those sarcastic ones out
there.
And here's the usual 'Oooh, if I actually
helped one of you guys out, please click
that big, 'thanks button, naw?'
Read this somewhere but thanks anyway
That simple
Anothe roveral guide also.
Please read an article I wrote about how to extend your battery life with other methods also.
Good luck!
I do it just the new school way
Using the battery calibration app through the android market. Little green altered android logo with the white % logo on it.

I don't think there is any way to do that. Btw, going by your join date, it's assumable that your phone is more than a year old. So, why don't you root your phone.
Trust me... The juice is worth the squeeze. I myself own a GT-i9003. And I rooted it 3 months after buying it. :-D
Thanks for the quick guide...I've seen this before but I've been too lazy to do it. But actually it's rather simple

I charged my phone after wiping battery stats some times ago, and it went weird, battery drops at a certain percent while I was using it
all battery stats are for is to collect and analyze battery usage per app basic on your Android devices. wiping stats does nothing to improve battery life or charge capacity at all.
few things.
1. when charging the phone does it need to be off?
2. wiping the battery status increase battery life or just the status? just trying to clear up my questions.
thanks in advance.

1.It doesn't matter whether the phone is turned on or not when charging (For me..)
2.Wiping battery stats does not increase battery life. It just resets the battery status and that's all.

Not new to the sensation but new to this account. I have decent knowledge for this phone but seeing i have to ask questions, i might as well take advantage of it. seeing my phone is having such crappy battery life, even though it isn't mentioned in the kernel thread. If i have crappy battery life after installing a kernel several times with the same rom i used it with before and had great battery life, would it help if i recalibrate the battery after flashing the new kernel. I know this is said to do with alot of roms even though it is built in to most roms now, but it is not mentioned as a possibly try in any of the kernel forums and would like to know from someone with alot of kernel knowledge if this would be safe and something that might help.

Battery stats are automatically wiped when your battery hits 100%. The process of manually doing it actually does nothing.
Hey Guys,
I didn't know where to ask this question so I made a new thread here.
My question is that which ROM should I use for best battery life??
I have tried most of the ROM in the two sections. But all ROMS drain battery so much. I have tried different Kernels as well. Nothing improved.
Please let me know if you have any in mind. I'll give it a try. Most of the roms work 9 hours max. I'm looking for more than that.

Screen on time/Radio on time are the killers if you use your radios and/or keep the screen on a lot, that makes sense.
With Viper and bulletproof give me an average of about 14 hours with about 2 hours of screen on time and 3 hours of Bluetooth headphones + Tune in Radio.
If you're using your phone a lot then no rom will help you. AOSP roms will not have as good battery as Sense but still pretty decent.
Invest in a pocket charger or one of those extended battery cases.

Hello guys !
My One S' battery is dying It cant even last for a day now .. So to begin with, i would like to try out some rom that is the most battery saving friendly out there !
I have already tried out the CM11 rom, but this only helps a little compared to the other rom i've tried (Magio something)
Is there any other rom out there you can recommend?
Thanks !
I recommend the viper sense 5 Rom, the battery life is awesome and the Rom looks very nice and works like a charm

Battery drain depends on usage. I've been using TwistedKat for the past 3-4 weeks and I'm gonna stick with it. Developer is always on and making great strides when he updates and it's rock solid. Battery usage for me is really good. Using the phone normally I'll take the phone off the charger around 7:30am and put it back on the charger before going to bed around 11pm and I'm usually always above 50%...
Don't know if that helps you, just my .02...
You also might want to try another Kernel...

Try this: TwistedKat. It's a 4.4.2 ROM based on SlimRom. Battery life is very good for AOSP, plus the ROM is very stable. The developer puts in a lot of hours and releases updates quickly.
Make sure to do a clean install.
