I've been running Invisiblek's CM10 preview builds for several days. After I dirty flashed the kexec 08/15 nightly, all of my custom ring tones and notifications disappeared from the menus. I reverted back to 08/14 with no luck. I flashed the unlocked aboot.img, wiped data & cache, and installed the unlocked 08/15 nightly. Still no luck. I copied my ring tone down and notifications to the system/media/audio/ folders. Now they show up, but when I select one, it doesn't play. My Ring Tones are in mp3 format and notifications are in wav format. Any ideas?

Update: Notifications mysteriously started working. Still no luck with ring tones.

Update: moved everything to external sdcard (which is where I'd prefer them anyway) and all started working.

Whenever I open up my text messages I receive a notification in the notification bar saying "message not sent select to review the message". I have tried everything, cleared the data for messaging, and numerous reboots. Has anyone else been having this problem? Everytime I open messaging I see this by the way.

What rom are you running? I know I was having some problems not receiving MMS pictures on H57. I flashed the EE19 leaked fix and everything is working now.

Symptoms:
Receive a MMS picture message and the picture does not show (though it initially downloads the image). Under the stock messaging app, there is nothing. Under the Handscent app, it says "unable to display content" when there is no text. If there is text it shows the text conversation. I can however, under Handscent go into the menu/more/save mms and see the image there. I can send MMS picture messages just fine.
Setup:
CM9 Nightlies
I have tried wiping and resetting all the app cache, phone cache, etc. I have played around with the APN settings. Yes, for those that yell about searching the forums; I have been working on this for several days and nothing in the lists have resolved my problem.
Any thoughts on this issue?
Do you have the stock messaging app frozen or disabled? I had a similar issue and resolved it by unfreezing/"thawing" in TB and enabling, then just turning off notifications in the stock app settings so it doesn't duplicate the notification since you're using a different SMS/MMS app.

Thanks! I froze then defrosted the default app and now it works. I have spent way too many hours trying more complicated solutions. Thanks again!
Does this apply if i'm using only the stock app too?

It should. My understanding is that by freeze/defrost, you reset the application locks or something to that effect. It doesn't hurt to try it and see how it works.
Can anyone tell me why I can't get my SMS notification sound to work? I'm on CM 10.1.2 for the VZW GS3. I can go into settings and click on the option to change the sound but when I choose one and go back it still says "silent" as my choice no matter what. I've tried reflashing and wiping everything but to no avail. If it helps I'm on the July 11th stable build.

Have you found a fix for this yet. Just installed CM 10.1.2 on my wifes Sprint GS3. Now there are a couple people who she gets text's from and her phone will not notify her of the test. Only when she goes to messaging does she see someone sent a message.
My phone (same phone, same build CM 10.1.2) and I get the notifications from the people she does not. weird
Thanks
So I'm in a strange situation. I was using the L preview and noticed I was not getting notifications for all of my hangouts. Sometimes I'd get a notification other times I'd open the app and see a bunch of missed messages.
I figured it must be because of the preview (even though I hadn't seen anyone else have the issue).
Flashed back to stock. Full stock image even relocked the boot loader.
But it's still happening. I'm not getting notifications. No sounds. No vibration. No icon in the status bar. No notifications in the shade.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas?
I've obviously already tried clearing the apps data. Changing notification sounds. Signing in and out.
I don't have cell service. I use my phone on WiFi only for the time being.

Solved it!
Solved this by going to apps in settings and clearing all data and cache from the app, then disdable an reenable the app.
After I logged in again it worked.
Hey guys, first off my apology if this has been covered in the past.
Okay I just flashed CM11 and I'm an experienced android use and flasher with many devices. But today is the first time I experienced this. I flashed cm11 wiped everything cache data system etc. Then flashed gapps, superuser , booted up and set system up and then went back and flashed racer kernel 2.4 ... My phone is running perfect and the system is absolutely flying. But I found a problem my volume works for in calls and ringer volume up down etc. But when I play videos or music on Pandora or YouTube etc. The media volume is maxed! Even tho I have the slider volume all the way down to minimum! Anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to fix? I tried wiping everything again and re-flashing but to no avail same setup same routine and same volume trouble.
Thanks for any advice in advanced.

Sorry Mod you can delete this. It was the old YouTube app I've been using didn't play well with cm11. Weird I know
10/02/14 Edit: Still Experiencing this. Volume is maxed on videos again. No mods, just cm11 ..everything worked fine on Android L

No no don't delete.
I'm on dirty unicorns and experienced the same thing. Not using YouTube but in all music programs.
Along side that I have vibrate off for all notifications but it still vibrates on hangouts message.
So I don't think it's the you tube app
