Can someone provide the default partition sizes for the 16 and 32GB versions?
I'm wondering if the 32GB keeps the same partitioning for apps and thus is just more storage for media files.
It is one big partition like all ICS+ devices.

Anybody has any idea why I'm getting "file is too large to copy" when copying 7 GB file to internal SD on Viewsonic G-Tablet when 13GB is free?
I guess it's becouse it's formatted as FAT32. So how do I exactly get any MKVs which I have which are all more then 4GB to play on my G-Tablet? Can I reformat SD as exFAT or some other format which supports bigger file sizes.
i know after a while of me copying and deleting stuff my available space would get smaller. after 2 weeks of use i noticed this, so i erased everything off of the internal and i was left with 5gb of free space. i reformatted to fat32 and had my 12 or 13gb back.
Issue is not with available space but file size limitation on FAT32 of 4 GB.

ah i see, don't know then :/
I don't think there's any fix, at this time. I read that Froyo's VOLD (which controls the mouting process) only supports vFAT. The previous VOLD at least supported EXT2/3(?) which was helpful for us Linux folks.
This is really a big issue given the limitations of FAT32 and the fact that none of these bozo vendors can agree on a standard format.
Just wondering what file system most people are using on their MicroSD cards in their TF300. Is one better than the other, and for what reason (outside FAT32 not storing file sizes larger than 4 gig)
I'm not certain that this is where this post should go, however it seemed the most fitting for it. My android tablet (Arnova 7b G3) has only 4GB of internal storage, of which 2GB is allocated as storage, and the other reserved for firmware, apps and system etc. This makes it awkward when installing games for example which have a download size of 1.39GB (GTA: Vice City) that must be downloaded to internal memory as it leaves very little spare. The tablet divides the space into the following: Internal storage, and internal SD card.
Is it possible to merge the two partitions, seeing as a lot of the first partition is given to apps anyway it wouldn't be as though there was no space for firmware?
Thanks!
Hi Guys
I have a strange problem here, maybe you could give some assistance
my Xoom is a UK Wifi one with 32gb internal storage, and a 16gb sdcard
but on looking in file explorer hd, it reports my internal storage as 28.3gb
and the free space available as 7.56gb, but looking at file and folder sizes
they total to 225mb, there seems to me as a lot of storage size missing ??
28.3gb - 225mb, equates to 28.075gb in my book of maths ??
what could possibly be wrong, my sd card records the correct size
I recently flashed to Eos4 wingray 2013617-203 nightly....
Hi
You may find accessing Storage under Settings gives you a better indication of what on your Xoom is occupying space.
If you have a lot of music this will likely take up several GB, as will films and large games.
Hey guys, I'm posting here to discuss a common feild of today's modern Android devices. That is nowadays you all might be frequently seeing devices with a sort of "combined" internal storage for apps and media both at the same place as both fill the space from the same internal partition or perhaps the only internal partition. My question is that how is this possible as how can both the user media files and apps be on the same partition without affecting or getting in contact with each other as file manager does not show apps but the space is used and same for app storage.
So how does this happen or how does this work and is there any way to implement this on regular phones with partitioned internal storage for apps and media separately (as this partitioning by the oems are sometimes frustrating as mostly the give very small app storage space and unnecessarily larger storage space which is usually replaced by a larger external micro SD card on small storage devices like 4 GB or so)?
Eg of combined storage devices include most Lenovo devices and never Micromax devices.
Thanks in advance for replying.
