[WINDOWS] [UNLOCK BOOTLOADER] Verizon - 0 / Humanity - 1 [AUTO][Batch][SGSIII] - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Method derived from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769411
IF YOU TAKE AN OTA AFTER DOING THIS AND VERIZON/SAMSUNG DECIDE TO UPDATE BOOTLOADER
IT COULD BRICK YOUR PHONE
THANKS TO ADAM OUTLER FOR HIS DISCOVERY ON HOW TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
I DID NOT COME UP WITH THIS, JUST A WAY FOR NOOBS LIKE ME TO DO IT ON WINDOWS EASILY!
*** MUST BE ROOTED
*** MUST HAVE USB DRIVERS FOR SGS III INSTALLED
*** VERIZON ONLY !!!!
MD5
Code:
aboot.img 0BA9AD45FC15CF3D62AF7DD363686B3F
stockboot.img 149B318C76A3EEFD495FCFA98BCDAF28
NOTES:
1. No responsibility taken for bricks. sorry.
2. This is confirmed working on my device and many others
3. Restore method taken away.
4. The bootloader used in unlock is from adam outlers method
5. How do you know it worked ? Samsung splash screen is blazing fast when unlocked and phone boots faster
opposite when locked, right now thats the only way besides actually trying to flash something like a kernel.
Download zip here
HOW TO UNLOCK:
**** IF YOU HAVE ANY PROGRAMS THAT SYNC WITH YOUR PHONE THEY NEED TO BE UNINSTALLED OR NOT RUNNING BECAUSE THEY CAN CAUSE BRICKS, Pdanet, easytether, droid explorer, kies, etc., etc., on down the line. I repeat if you have a program on your computer that syncs with your phone, it is NOT COOL TO HAVE THAT RUNNING! ****
1. menu > settings > develop options > (unplug phone) > usb debugging > ok > (plug in phone)
[USB DEBUGGING HAS TO BE CHECKED !]
2. If you are not rooted, get rooted first !
3. download the zip and extract somewhere you will be able to find it
4. pick option 1 and your done
I removed the restore to stock, because it was causing problems, however if you want to restore your backup that the program makes simply run this from command line
Code:
adb shell su -c "dd if=/sdcard/bootloader_backup.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5"
or in terminal emulator
Code:
su -c "dd if=/sdcard/bootloader_backup.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5"
IMPORTANT NOTES: YOU CAN NOW RESTORE BOOTLOADER COMING FROM ANY OTHER METHOD [/SIZE]

Yes I wonder too. As in warranty return needed, can we go back or is there evidence it'd be locked for good.

Will try one of the two ways of unlocking later today. OP is this all the instructions? We don't even plug the phone in?/ Lmfao no seriously the instructions need to be more specific.

Good stuff! Excited to see how this affects the S3 ROM development

This is true. Do you mean the one by shabbypenguin/Chris378? Yeah, that is pretty cool. An automated guide that holds your hand though the whole process is way easier than a list of downloads and instructions that says "Read carefully, because if you do something wrong, your phone will explode."

one click root in the development section works. Just read carefully before you hit enter in the command prompt, you might skip steps.

This is only for rooting the NS4G (d720) using windows. Even though it is a semi-automated process, it is still a good time for being anal about reading carefully and performing each step exactly as described.
Edit: Oh, and read the readme first.

Won't root!

soc is short for superoneclick (or system on a chip or many other things but i was talking about superone click) anyway you need the newwest version of super one click to root android 2.3.3 and up. i believe it is version 2.2
i havent tried it but i hear it takes a while. you could also bypass that and flash a kernel with root through heimdall. it's a bit like odin but doesnt flsh .tar archives. it flashes the raw images (zimage for the kernel) so you have to extract the zimage out of a .zip file. you could also make your own odin package but that means you shoud be doing it in a terminal window(look up cygwin, or install linux or borrow a mac). though archive managers like win rar and 7zip can work i have had issues doing it in windows (as well as success but dont want to risk it)

Big dog Infuse I997 GB KJ4
[AT&T][2.3.6]Heimdall One-Click Back-To-Stock UCKJ4 + Easy CWM install
I did the first step and sure enough it returned the phone to stock. I've been using Serendipity VII and thought I'd try this return to stock to see if my HDMI would work. It sure has the touch and feel of stock firmware, yet shows it's Android version 2.3.6 I mean it's got all the ATT bloatware, Samsung apps, the works. I go into settings and can't find TV out in the Display settings like Serendipity (could find the button but it didn't work) now that I'm "stock" I can't find the button! LOL
Where I am at this point is reading the stuff about getting root again as I have no superuser icon anymore.
Not sure if I should proceed to step two, looks to be fairly recent material...
Download Defuse 1.5"
Ok I did that but am reluctant to proceed after all the reading I did. I have a usuable handset still but the battery life sucks compared to S7 and still don't have HDMI, anyone have experience on what happens if you do the second step? It says you can get CWM and flash (I'm ready to flash back to Serendipity) but I don't see where it gives you root and I'm chicken to click it thru and try, been reading...
Hello?
Thanks.
Flash Defuse 1.5 youll get recovery back. Thats what i did before wwhen i bricked my phone

Mine did the same thing using "auto" for exploits.
I then tried "psneuter". It warned me that it might not work on my FW version, then worked!
So what is supposed to work doesn't, and what is not supposed to work does, go figure.

Toss it my way. Correct none of the unlock apps will work for the I727, I've tried many. Your IMEI is still in the database, It is just AT&T not wanting to give it to you. Your best bet would be to use one of the MANY online sources. There are several that offer unlocking for under $10.00 others that offer for around $30.oo ish. Find one in your budget that will work for your time constraints and go with them.
As far as busy box, you have a few options from the market that will quickly and easily install it for you.

I use Linux, so I'm not 100% certain about Macs (though it should be similar). But at least in Linux, it asks for your password because the script uses sudo. It's asking for password of the user currently logged in, so as to give the program administrative rights.

There is another method, the HTCDEV method, which is detailed in the PDF in post #7 in the "need help?" link in my signature (admittedly, a little roundabout). However, be warned that AAHK is above and beyond my recommended option. HTCDEV unlock can be detected, making rooting detectable even after you go back to stock (for warranty purposes). AAHK is completely reversible. It also makes the entire flashing process easier and gives you more ROM choice. For more detail, take a look at that link.
If you have absolutely no way to get your password, I would recommend that you try an Ubuntu LiveCD instead of using your Mac. It will let you run AAHK with sudo.

In short, HTCDEV only lets you flash ACE (Desire HD and Inspire 4G) ROMs, but not ROMs ported from other devices. Also, it adds an additional step to flashing any new ROM (you need to run a fastboot command from your computer with your phone connected). AAHK gives you S-OFF, giving you more complete control over your phone and letting you flash any ROM (including ported ones) without that extra step.

On average it takes about 15-20 mins give or take.well if you do it properly ie flash the correct version of fxz for your phone there are little chances to fail.but if that happens you can always retry.and hardbrick is very unlikely.

I just have to point this out to EVERYONE. This is one reason you do NOT EVER remove busybox. It was not the fact the the hijack was removed, but because busybox links itself to MANY critical "linux" functions, and it does not re-link those back to the motobox (minimal busybox like binary), or rename old bin files if they were there before, so there are things like mount and other functions that do not work properly.
I am not chastizing the OP here, just making a point to everyone about busybox, as this has been mentioned very little in the forums, so I thought this is a good place to point this out and the hazards with removing busybox, it will bootloop you nearly everytime.
It is better to just fxz back to full stock before/instead of removing busybox. Although I am still really not sure why anyone would want to remove busybox at all, it gives you a ton of linux utilities all in one binary and creates links to things like mount, etc.

Totally agree with you Jim but this would have been much more effective in the brick thread or in the noob thread.not criticizing or saying you don't already know this.just giving my opinion.

I totally dis-agree. It does have bearing in here, because if someone does actually do a search for removing busybox on an atrix 2, this will come up. That was really the ONLY reason I put it here. And also the Brick thread is really for bricks, removing busybox is a whole other can of worms. And look I have respect that you have come up lately and taken an active role in here, but don't forget I have been trail blazing on this phone for over a year now, and have been trying to save people from themselves the whole time, so maybe re-read and think about why I did what I did in here. I am no jumping on you at all, just trying to show you my point.

I know that. I just wanted to make sure that you understood. As I said I was not jumping on you at all. I just really wanted you and others to realize I am trying to help out future busybox users that may want to uninstall, and "actually" use the search function, that was all.
Can I uninstall busybox free and install busybox probably. Plz help?

As Jim said, you CANNOT uninstall a Busybox. So its best to take Ti back of your stuff and do a RSD install, then install busybox of your choice.
