Honestly i think ODIN is windows only You might need to torrent a windows 7 iso and just install it without a key in bootcamp. If your phone is busted it's probably worth all the trouble.
I fixed thanks for everyone's help

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709 Check this guide out. It's very beginner friendly. Lays everything out in step by step detail.
I flashed the stock image with odin and all my stuff is still there? Even my text and call history? It's like nothing happened other than my framework hack was removed? Do i need to factory reset first? Help!

Yes, after wiping data/factory reset you will have completed the process.
I know this from my own experience.

Once and for all, it's so freaking confusing since the bootloader has been unlocked, which recovery do I flash if I use a non kexic Rom, and if I don't want the triple boot?
Thanks in advance.

CWM touch 5.8.X.X (X's because i cant remember the last two numbers) or TWRP. Both of which can be flashed using EZ Recovery.

hey guys, im rooting my sisters phone, and i install recovery from rom manager wich doesnt even have an install zip from sdcard option wich i thik i need to flash a rom. can you guys give me any advice?
for the sidekick, you don't originally use rom manager. There is a forum post somewhere on how to install red recovery. Rom manager didn't really work for sidekick.clockwork mod doesn't
Install. I'm on my phone, so I can't send you the link and files.

What's odin?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using Tapatalk 2
A recovery solution to bring the phone back to factory default, it will unroot you as part of the process. You do this if you can't boot or you're sending it back for a warranty.

Your two options are to use Odin and flash a recovery or use casual. If you have not used Odin before then casual it's more fool proof. If you want to stay true to Samsung root then do the Odin.

OK cool I can do that my boot loader needs to be unlocked to flash CWM through Odin otherwise it will brick my device I used official phone rebels rooting method last time I rooted not sure it would work this time since I'm not on the other boot loader anymore
