Hi. I'm trying to do something I can't figure out how, so I need some help.
I'm connecting to my server from my Hermes with PocketPuTTY. On my server I have Midnight Commander, which is easy to use etc. The only problem is I'm missing some keys on the keyboard, especially the arrow keys, which are not mapped with the same scancodes as a PC appearantly, and the function keys F1-F10.
So I'm looking for 2 things: 1) A program that can map scancodes to the keyboard, and 2) the actual scancodes for the arrow keys and function keys on a PC so I know what to map.
Any help here is greatly appreciated. I also want to know if what I want to do is possible at all, at the moment I'm not too sure it can be done...
Thanx, Artur
maybe this could lead you in the right direction
http://www.google.dk/search?hl=da&s...t=result&cd=1&q=arrow+key+ascii+value&spell=1
or searchs like it
one can always test an ascii value by holding down alt and typing the dec value
Does anyone know of any browsers that either have the ability to "bind" keys, or have directional buttons?
What I need to do is mimic the left and right arrow keys found on a normal keyboard.
I know there are a few keyboard apps that have these, but the problem is the page I need to use this on doesnt have a text box so the keyboard 1. does not pop up, and 2. does not interpret the arrows correctly.
Basically the page Im trying to do this on is a flash based page where you press either the left or right arrow key to get your next assignment. There are no visual "next" and "back" buttons on the page, which is making this really hard!
I just tried this app, and set my search key to "dpad left" and it didnt work in the browser... Maybe its not possible, idk.
Can someone please help me?
I think I use the recent apps button more than any other button on the screen or the dock. Does anyone know if there is a short cut for that button built in to the dock? Maybe a key combo or something? I love how easy it is to switch between apps with that button, but I sometimes wish I didn't have to tap the bottom of the screen to do so.
Does anone know of a keyboard shortcut to do this?
As far as I can see, there is no such thing. This and the lack of accidental touch filtering on the trackpad are the only negatives that I've found in the dock.

Click to collapse
The "function" key to disable the touchpad works wonders.
Have you guys tried holding down the home key on the keyboard?
Yes. No dice.
FN+ Home? Maybe shoot an email to asus and see if it's something they will add, or is super hidden.
(I'm just throwing things out there I don't have one, lol)
Is there a way to stop the virtual keyboard from popping up on screen when it is in the keyboard dock, also is there a way to stop the text I am writing into the stock browser from dissapearing under the full screen keyboard when typing?
Thanks
I couldn't find a way, but I got round it by clicking the v on the bottom menu (Next to home) which closes the onscreen keyboard down. Its a bit of a faff tbh. But at least you can get to type on fullscreen. To see what you're typing, just use the arrow keys/the text tag and scroll down.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? It is so annoying. Everytime i touch the screen to edit, the virtual keyboard pops up. I use the up/down keyboard Key, below the Enter Key on the virtual keyboard to minimize the virtual keyboard. I have cheked the settings and there is no option to disable the virtual keyboard. Any suggestions anyone?
I don't have a dock but use a bluetooth keyboard from time to time. To avoid the same problem I have installed null keyboard from Google Play store which works well for me.
Works brilliantly thanks just what i was after. I've got the note docked and the keyboard hasn't appeared on screen once while typing this. Only thing i had to do was set it to the default keyboard first in the settings under input.
Can't do notes in the text cause my wrist touches the virtual buttons and get me to the home or to the menu of tabs... The back buttom doesn't is a problem in Papyrus app cause it's possible disable it.
Can you help me?
