My Nexus S doesn't do this, but my Galaxy S i9000 does for some reason. I've not been able to figure it out yet.
My Nexus S as of just this morning is doing that, but a little differently. The screen will come on almost immediately after I turn the screen off. I am able to immediately turn it back off, but then again, it'll come right back on. I don't think it's a hardware/sticking button issue, because as long as the screen is on, the screen never goes off by itself either. Any ideas?
My Nexus S just starting do this same thing. Screen will not timeout and when I turn it off, it comes on immediately after. I have found that if the phone is plugged into my computer via usb the phone works as it is supposed to. Don't have any idea about what is causing this but its beginning to drive me crazy.

Phone randomly turned off and now screen stays black.

My phone's screen randomly turned off and now everytime I try and turn it back on the screen stays black. But i feel the vibration so i'm not sure what to make of this.
EDIT: I guess my phone ran out of battery cause I'm an idiot and so it works. Just had to leave it charged it for a bit

Are you running a custom rom? Did you change any voltages or tweak anything? Can you see anything if you boot into recovery or download mode?

[Q] Is the phone or the battery dead?

before my phone completely died, it randomly shut off a couple of times. when I turned it on, the battery said it was completely low and of course I had to put it in the charger. Now whenever I try to turn on the phone unplugged, it can't get passed the samsung logo. it just goes off and on intermittently. In fact it stays that way whenever the battery is in the phone. it will not just stay off. when plugged in, the battery sign flashes on and off and will not show progress of the battery being charged.
If you put the battery in without touching the power button, does the phone turn on?

[Q] Nexus 5 vibrates then turns off randomly

I've noticed a problem that has happened twice with my new Nexus 5 so far - it will vibrate and then turn off. I don't know if it is going through its full shutdown sequence or not as what has happened is that the phone has not been in use, in my pocket once and I don't remember what the other time, and all of a sudden it vibrates once out of the blue, I go to check the phone and it is off. I can turn it back on again but find it weird that it seems to be crashing and then not even restarting - but being off. It is not rooted but the bootloader is unlocked so I can root in the future, if needed.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi,
I have the same problem but i don't use the vibrator. My nexus works very good in all aspects but turns off randomly some days....
It's really disgusting and I don't know what I have to do for solve this neither...
Maybe use a manual one over a vibrator

Screen keeps turning on when turned off on Google Assistant screen.

The phone will turn off, then the screen turns right back on. Any suggestions?
