after a hard reset my samsung - by windowbreak - unlocked.
but now i do not have access to a desktop computer to install files with the extension *.xap - wp7roottools and xaphandler / or xap deployer, or another installer *.xap - on device.../. is this possible(without pc)?does anyone have idea? thanks for all suggestion
are there any error message showing?
@mikaelel: As far as I know, there isn't any way to bootstrap deployment of homebrew apps on a stock ROM without any use of a PC. Custom ROMs include support for installing XAPs from the web, and of course once you have XapHandler running, you're good. But from where you are now, I think you'll need a PC. It doesn't have to be *your* PC, though - any machine that can run Zune and the WP7 dev tools will work.

Hi I've just reformatted my computer and installed the following setups related to Windows Phone
1)Windows 7.1 SDK
2)Windows Developer Tools CTP
3)Zune
4)XAPdeployX v0.9
5)Microsoft Visual Studio
For some reason no matter what deployer i use it gives me an error
1)XAPdeployX doesn't even let me open it up. It gives an error "Error: Unable to start. (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.) YES i have installed CoreConInstall and vs_sdeprolightup-enu
2)Phone 7 Deployer didn't work as well giving me an error "Error Deploying to the device. It is not properly configured."
It's as if my phone is not unlocked which i am 100% sure because i could deploy XAP before i reformatted my computer
Thanks in advance for the help
Not sure why you'd deploy the dev tool CTP, or at least why you'd say it's related to WP7. It's probably not your problem, but...
Out of curiosity, what version of Windows are you running?
Win 7 64bit and its updated.
Why isn't CTP related? I thought you needed Windows Developer Tools for deployment of XAP
Nope. WP7 SDK and Zune is all you need for XAP deployment.
A full copy of Visual Studio can ease development but isn't needed. A third-party xap deployer isn't needed at all, though the official one is kind of feature-bare. The Windows dev tools (as opposed to the Windows Phone dev tools) aren't even relevant. Certainly not the CTP ones (I assume you mean the ones for the Win8 tech preview?) as those weren't even available until a few months ago. Visual Studio installs the standard Windows SDK anyhow.
I assume you're able to connect the phone to Zune and sync files, etc?
Hey,
My LG E900 is the OS version: 7.10.8107.79. And I want to unlock it take to install applications and games XAP. I used the method by MFG, I put XAP in a Tom XAP Installer to install, and gives me this error when installing:
-Please Make sure your phone was unlocked !
-Please Make sure you connected device to PC and Zune launched
Try again?
What happening? This method does not it? You can get the original ROM and remain the ChevronWP7 up to this latest version? I have another way?
Thanks in advance and sorry my english!
PS: I can put original Rom, install ChevronWP7 and remain to Last Version (7.10.7740/7.10.8107, or other)?
Use the official Xap installer tool "Application Deployment" that comes with the SDK. The third-party installers are plagued with bugs and bad error messages. Many of them also require at least a few components from the SDK, even if they say otherwise.
If you want to make sure that the phone is ready to receive apps, try synching a file to it from Zune - Zune must be running and synched with the phone for XAP deployment.
Guys,
I used Windows Phone Power Tools to access my isolatedSotorage folders on my LG Optimus 7, but since I don't want to install the full WP SDK, it doesn't work anymore. Any suggestion? Maybe some other software.
BTW the error WPPT gives me it some missing VisualStudio Assemblies.
Also, I don't like TouchExplorer really much, since it installs Windows Device Manager which I never was able to unistall.
To deploy I just use W.I.N.K.O.S.'s mini SDK

Thanks in advance
I have a Samsung Focus (rev 1.3) which is interop-unlocked using Jaxbot's WindowBreak.
Everyt
My desktop (Windows 7 x64) was able to:
1. Connect and sync via Zune
2. Deploy XAPs
3. Create backups using the Easy_Backup tool
4. Connect to Cab_sender
While it is still able to do 1, 3, & 4, it just cannot deploy XAPs anymore. It's not a problem with the phone as I can still deploy xaps from my laptop.
Every XAP deployer I use returns the following error:
"Failed to connect to device. The specific module cannot be found"
I've tried re-installing Zune, my .NET is upated. I even tried installing the full WP7.1 SDK but it didn't help.
Googling the error hasn't turned up much.
What could be the problem here?
I had the same problem, but I didnt want to reinstall the whole wp7 sdk. Uninstall the wp7 sdk(only if you dont need it) and then try W.I.N.C.O´s wp7 mini sdk. That one worked well for me

Unfortunately, this doesn't work. I had this installed prior to the start of the problem. I installed the full SDK only later.
I tried this again, but the installer just disappears moments after it executes.
Simple question, I am using Terminal PC where I can't install Windows Phone SDK. I got Dev unlocked WP and I would like to be able to deploy my XAP files (no warez) from this machine without installing SDK. Any idea?
If you aren't FullUnlock impossible
How about full unlocked?
If you're fullunlocked, you can use on-device XAP installers (there are various available) which also typically enable IE XAP handling. You can also couple this with for instance the WMDC connector and copy XAPs using USB on the phone and installing using such an installer.
On-device XAP deployment only requires a root unlock, except you must first deploy the XAP deployment app (see my signature, for example) and probably WP7 Root Tools. Those will require standard app deployment software on the PC (it doesn't require all of the WP7 SDK, but it does require part of it and also Zune). Once they're installed, mark the XAP halder app as Trusted, run it once so it associates with the .XAP file extension, and then you can install apps from web pages or email attachments.
