go for a used S2

u can try haipai noble i9220, powerful cpu with bigger screen :silly:

In my opinion :
- motoluxe of motorola
- xperia neo V
- galaxy s1 (if you still find it)

I have an Alcatel One Touch Ultra 995. Which is cheaper than 200,- :victory:

With such a nice budget I'd go for a Samsung S2. Actually, given that you're on XDA, I assume that you plan on modding it so I'd just get the one with multi-core CPU and the most RAM.

lcmain
a Milestone 2 i'luv my phone i'd recommend it for u.

Galaxy s
It would be perfect if you could find Galaxy S or S plus. It woulb be a perfect choice which a lot of oppurtunities for development especially i9000. I9001 is stronger and faster than i9001..

I just bought myself a Motorola Milestone 2 and I'm not regretting it.
I've read a lot about it and people's recommendation is to get the QWERTY version if possible as the keyboard is supposed to be better.

How about £67
Huawei G300 Ascend Smartphone - £102.95 to £72.95 with credit acct, down to possible £67.01 (incl cashback) Delivered @ isme.com (Hotdeals website)
Bought one myself - luvvin it -
Think you'll have to pay more than £200 to match this spec (GSM Arena website)

Well Get i9000 instead.....(Most recommended)
U can also try Galaxy s+, galaxy S advance......
^^^
All three are same models externally.....just the CPU,Chipset,GPU,RAM and Display Differ.........
Again i9000 (sada galaxy S) is the most recommended Since it gets the most Attention...both from Samsung and Devs.....and super-amoled has better battery life than S-LCD's......
Buy a Galaxy i9000 or a Nexus Phone... Best Roms for them and great Developer support.
I'll recommend Xperia Neo V (I have both phones) for the following reasons:
1. Samsung Service and hardware sucks (too many issues just check the forum)
2. SL has no official support for ICS.
3. Limited ROMs for SL.
4. Neo V is faster/smoother as per my experience.
5. No notification LED on SL.
6. Neo V is cheaper with a better SOC.
But, Galaxy SL is easier to mod as compared to Neo V (requires unlocked bootloader, an easy procedure).
Sl is the best in its range..
I ve been using it for almost an year.. til now no problem
Battery backup would be better than ace.
Don't think of xperia u..
Its useless. It has only 4gb internal memory and no external memory card support.
I would recommend against it. The phone is at the end of its support cycle.

how about experia sola...! I have.seen its specs. Looks really good & most imp it has ICS support. Its a fact our phone is just ok kind of phone which has very low kind of development. If I get a chance then I will replace my phone with 1 year old samsung galaxy nexus phone which has very vast developmrnt.

If you're into custom roms I'd try to get a used GNex. It's still a good phone with an awesome community and good for another 1-2 years. Imho the community is much more important than the specs nowadays. The OMAP4460 is far away from beeing top notch but if games are not your main concern its performance is adequate. All the features you need in a package much more beautiful and handsome than the Nex 4 (The Gnex does not have inductive charging but it's easy to DIY).
If the Rom is not important or Hardware is the most important thing the 4x HD might be the best choice (but don't bet on getting JB no matter what LG is telling you ).
mmmm im really undecided ....
O4X HD has Roms too, just not as many. And its in black or white

4x hd is made by lg meaning lack of sources and it also gets late updates.
Gnex has the best rom support, but is getting outdated
and imo the xperia ion is the best choice.
its new, got nice specs, and very open source with nice prompt updates
Let get Xperia Ion or Xperia Z the same

If you intend to play around with your device a lot (Kernels, Roms, Mods), I'd say the Nexus. If you're not planning to do so, id lean more towards the Ion due to the more reliable company to this day im still iffy about LG

Need a new phone!

Hey members of XDA,
I wanted your help in buying me a phone. I'm currently using my nexus prime and xperia mini. So, i want to replace mini with a phone within 300$ or about Rs. 16k. Helps would be appreciated :victory:
At that price the best you“ll find here in India is the Galaxy Nexus that too only via unofficial sources.
You can also have a look at Optimus L9 or Samsung Galaxy S Advance.
Or an atrix2 by motorola. ( I'm not sure if it's still available). If you are into the custom kernel and stuff, ignore this. It's completely locked. But development is going on with same stock KERNEL.

I Was suggesting him according to his budget.
We don't have contracts here in India, so we pay full money like you would of you bought an unlocked version.
And s4 would cost nothing less than 35k INR (700$).

I do believe the Nexus Prime was the Galaxy Nexus before the official announcement.
For 300 dollars you could probably get something like a Galaxy S2 or a HTC sensation

Well i don't want another nexus as i have a prime. So, earlier when i was on low budget i thought about going for xperia j or sola or HTC sesire X. But now as i have an increased budget i was looking for the xperia s or the sl. Galaxy s2 is a bit outdated ( no offense ) And as for s3 it's quiet expensive for my budget ( being around 30k ) and as for s4 it's gonna be around 35k-40k. Which is an outrageous amount for a 10th standard student like me :crying:
Thanks for the replies :good:

1) Jelly Bean update!! The most important thing! I'm so annoyed by flashing JB roms on my current devices. So many bugs but still developers are working hard on these roms.
2) Camera. I need a camera capable of doing Full HD recording.
3) GPU to play games like RR3, MC4 or Nova 3.
4) Battery Backup. I currently last about 9-10 Hours with the way i use my device. I'm constantly on whatsapp and Kik!
5) Screen size is not an issue but above 3.5 inches.
Thanks for the replies

[Q] Buying the best option possible within my budget

Hello all,
As my old Xperia X8 curently rests in peace I have the chance to buy a new smartphone device. The thing is that as a college freshman my budget is as low as it gets, so the purpose of this post is that you guys, the elite of the net when it comes to smartphones, could help me choose wisely.
My goal is to find a smartphone that I can find here in my homeland (Greece to be particular) or could order from abroad, that wouldn't cost more that 130-145 € (shipping included or low enough if possible).
What I'm looking for mainly is a fast processor with good ram capacity that whouldn't let me down at multitasking, web browsing, app executing etc.To be percise, what I'm looking for is the best and fastest processor/ram combination I can find within that budget.
From there on, my preferences focus on the camera, wifi capabilities (speed and range), screen size and looks/styling with that particular order.
My manufactor preferences are Samsung and Sony of course. But if any other mobile manufactor has what I'm looking for I would be glad to take a look.
I myself have made a small research on possible devices I could buy. Unfortunately I am not a phone specialist.I'm far from it, (although I would like to get there one day hopefully) so these are some devices I came up with during a quick search at a greek online store:
http://www.skroutz.gr/c/40/kinhta-t....html?order_dir=asc&price_max=150&price_min=0
If you cannot open the link for some reason, or if you just don't wanna, the devices are:
Samsung Galaxy Ace 2
Sony Xperia M
Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 (S7582)
Samsung Galaxy Core I8260
Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus 3G
All of the above are within my budget.I lean towards xperia m because from reviews i found online it seems to have the best cpu performance from those 5, it's the only xperia sooo and because I never owned a samsung before so i don't know how it would feel yet.
So please guys if you can, suggest me the best option from these 5 or a better one that you can come up with that follows those requirements I listed above.Your help is really important to me and I would be really greatful to you if you had time to devote to my silly requests.

it's like you're asking me to spend my money for half a year of use, maximum! I'm a poor student, not a naive Richy McRich!
I personally don't think Xperia is worth it's price. It has a lot of issues with it's software from my and other people I know's experience. So... I'd recommend anything else but the Sony Xperia brand.
Based on your list, I would chose the xperia m !
