[MOD] CM9 Increased System Volumes - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I just flashed CM9 Alpha 11 by dhiru1602 and noticed that the Touch Sound, Lock Sound and Unlock Sound was too quiet and not noticeable. So I have increased their volume and is available for anyone to try!
Downloads :
Effect_Tick.ogg
Lock.ogg
Unlock.ogg
If you want to flash this MOD from CWM, download this zip file:
Increase Volume (Credits: frapeti)
NOTE:
Take a backup of the files you are going to replace before continuing. If you don't like the new modded audio files, you can always revert back to the original one's!
Instructions
Manually Replacing:
1. Using Root Explorer, go into System/Media/Audio/UI and take a backup of the original audio files you want to replace.
2. Replace the original file with the downloaded one.
3. Change the permission to "RW-R--R--".
Flashing Through CWM:
1. Go into recovery mode.
2. Select "Install zip from sdcard"
3. Navigate to the folder where you saved the flashable .zip file and select it.
4. Flash it!
Reboot your phone and the volume will be increased!

Cool. Would be easier for noobs if it was a flashable zip.

MIX ROM (Best of both world) - Thanks To T & Z - [Upd 11.02.05 fix HW Led]

Zdzihu has delivered a near perfect Froyo (only video cam remain outstanding) which is extremely stable
TripNRaver has delivered Cyanogen 6.1 which is very cool with the cyanogenmod but still has some issues such as move to SD and flashlight.
I like cyanogen mod but I also like the stability of z's free x10. Since both are based on Froyo, I thought of combining them to create a perfect rom. And it works !!!
What I did:
1. Unzip Trip's cyanogen to a folder (let's say c:\cyanogen)
2. Unzip Z's beta3 to another folder (let's say c:\freex10)
In each folder you should have a META-INF and system folder
3. copy the services.jar from the link below (download and rename) to c:\cyanogen\system\framework (this will enable the flashlight)
http://www.mediafire.com/?67jb2mowad2z23p
4. copy the framework-res.apk from the link below to c:\cyanogen\system\framework (this will enable HW Led) - Thanks to fonz2544 for the tip.
http://www.multiupload.com/E1DFZKTFXG
note: Should work for both beta3 & 4. The trade-off is that you lose the auto-brightness option in the display settings.
5. copy the following folders from c:\freex10\system to c:\cyanogen\system
- bin
- etc
- lib
you may also want to copy the Froyo's Camera.apk to c:\cyanogen\system\app (rename 1 of them if you want both)
6. zip the c:\cyanogen folder (you should do it inside c:\cyanogen).
Any zip application should do.
For me I use windows (select all files under c:\cyanogen, right click, send to compressed (zip) file)
7. copy this zip file to sdcard
8. install via xRecovery
9. Install free x10 gapps and free x10 beta3 hotfix 1. Reboot
10. system will reboot twice and after that it'll be fine (if not you should crash system server at least once)
What is working - same as free x10 beta 3
You have cyanogen mod now and can easily do a dark theme and change the clock color etc
Notes:
------
1. Please do a backup before you try. I'm not responsible if any thing happens to your phone.
2. I have tried everything and they worked just fine. But I can't guarantee it'll work for you.
3. All credits go to T & Z. I hope I don't offend them. I just want to share with you my findings so more of you can enjoy it.
4. This just shows that their combined work is awesome
If you find this useful. Press the Thanks button
I wanna try this but my laptop is still under maintrnance Ill go to my friend's house and try this one. Hope it will work for me

[THEMING -Basic] - Easy Way to EDIT SystemUI.apk/Apps Background

Hi there! Just wanna share..
Just a basic background on how to theme your ROMS. - ofcourse, give thanks to the developer of your ROMs! .
I made this thread for those users who have personal wishes for their Phones. Ofcourse, ROM developers cannot please all of its users. so just make your own and be happy!.
I just made it easy for easy understanding and for the newbies.
Tried so many times and tested
I've already tried editing the systemUI.apk of different ROMs.
Here's what I did :
FIRST : Download 7zip to open the archived apk. - that's free.
Extracting first the Zip File..
(make sure you copy the original before extracting it for back up)
1. Download the ROM.zip and extract it to your PC.
2. Go to \system\app\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-ldpi/Mdpi/hdpi
3. View the PNG files you wanted to change and make sure to remember its' file name.
4. After editing/changing the file/image you wanted, you can save it anywhere from your PC, let's say on your Desktop.
- Make sure that the file name still remains as is..
*After you're done editing, updating the PNG files you wish to change, follow this steps to update the zip file :
NOTE : You can apply transparency by editing the PNG file to photoshop by reducing the opacity of the image
1. Go to the original ZIP file of ROM.Zip from your PC
2. Right Click the folder and select 7 ZIP -->> open archive
3. Close all of windows/Browers (or minimize)
4. Go to \system\app\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-ldpi/mdpi/hdpi and it will open a new window of 7zip showing the files inside the zip.
5. Now, given your edited PNG files or downloaded png files (assuming that files are located in your desktop). - Click and simply DRAG the file(s) from your desktop to \system\app\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-ldpi\ mdpi/hdpi
6. It will ask you to confirm the action for it will replace the existing PNG file that you're trying to change.
7. Make sure that the file name of the one you edited/downloaded are THE SAME. -
8. After dragging and replacing the files you wanted, then you're good to go!
9. Close the 7zip window and that's it!.
You can now install the .zip by copying the UPDATED zip file to your SD Card.
(Note: Make sure to copy the updated one, not the backed up one)
Install the zip file from the original thread's instructions and reboot twice.
After that, you have now a customized systemUI.apk.
For those who do not want to reinstall the whole package.. follow these steps:
1. I assumed that you have the zip file of your ROM.
2. Extract it and go to \system\app\
3. Separate the SystemUi.apk - put it on your desktop. create a back up,
Right Click SystemUi.apk and select 7 ZIP -->> extract here - just to view the files you wanted to change.
Just go the folder and search for the PNG files.
4. Right Click SystemUi.apk and select 7 ZIP -->> open archive.
5. Go to \res\drawable-ldpi/mdpi/hdpi
6. Click and simply DRAG the PNG file(s) from your desktop to \res\drawable-ldpi/mdpi/hdpi
7. It will ask you to confirm the action for it will replace the existing PNG file that you're trying to change.
8. Make sure that the file name of the one you edited/downloaded are THE SAME. -
9. After dragging and replacing the files you wanted, then you're good to go!
APPLYING :
1. Download and install rootexplorer.apk
2. Download the png files you wanted to update.
3. Copy and paste the NEW SystemUi.apk that you have updated/Edited to your SD card.
4. Open root explorer in your galaxy y then go and tap MOUNT R/W.
5. Go to \SDCard and go to new SystemUI.apk that you have updated.
6. Long press the file and select copy
7. Press back and go to \system\app - tap MOUNT R/W at the top.
8. Paste the new SystemUI.apk from there.
(Note : You will encounter a lot of force closes for the exixsting systemui is currently being used by your phone. - just ignore it a lot and scroll down to look for the new SystemUI.apk.
9. Once you get there, long press on it and select permissions:
from the pop up, make the checked one like this :
•___•____ •
•___ .____.
•___ .____.
where Dots are the checked one - Bigger dots
After encountering a lot of force closes, then reboot the phone and that's it!
(Force Closes are normal, DON't PANIC - logically, you are currently using your systemUI.apk so just ignore it)
NOTE : You can also apply the same steps in editing system files apps, just edit the .png files and locate it using 7zip(when you already opened it). Have a little LOGIC on how to edit system app background - same process. just different apk files and directory .

Galaxy - lock, unlock & touch sounds

For those of you who want the Samsung Galaxy series water drop lock and unlock sound..
I've attached two zips... one is CWM Flashable and other is for people who are new to flashing it contains the sounds in ogg format.
You can do it either way.. :
Instructions:
For CWM Flashable ZIP: Just put the zip in your SD card and flash via CWM. No need to wipe anything.. Reboot :good:
For ZIP containing .ogg sounds:
1) Extract the ZIP you'll find 3 files: Effect_Tick.ogg, Lock.ogg & Unlock.ogg
1) Use Root explorer and copy the above 3 files into system/media/audio/ui/. And since you'll already have the original files with the same name in ui folder.. these filed will be saved as Effect_Tick-copy.ogg, Lock-copy.ogg & Unlock-copy.ogg.
3) Now change the permissions of these (copied) files exactly as the original files...
4) Delete the original files and rename Effect_Tick-copy.ogg to Effect_Tick.ogg and similarly for Lock.ogg and Unlock.ogg.
5) Reboot..
Done... :good:
Use only any one of the above method..

Tried the Sprint_MF9_FULL_BUTTON one for Odexed MF9. I have the VOLUME BOOSTING SOUND [MODERATE] (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41775485&postcount=2]) and I noticed when using Speakerphone my voice came out very distorted while other caller's voice was fine. A different call without speakerphone tried came out great for both sides.
In case people are wondering, The Record Button replaces the "Add Caller Button" and the recordings are in AMR format and automatically goes into root/sdcard/Sounds/Call recording Phone Number- ###.amr For clarity sdcard is the built in phone storage space. External card is located under root/storage/extSdCard.
I still haven't tested this with bluetooth headset but should be fine I imagine.

Bluetooth will not record calls. If your having problems I would reflash my record zip and not flash the volume mod. I will be adding some volume boost mods that work with this build.

If your having problems I would reflash my record zip and not flash the volume mod. I will be adding some volume boost mods that work with this build. Also you might want to turn of smart stay. Then go to settings to applications to the all tab fine phone and clear data.Reboot See if screen goes off and all works well then turn smart stay back on.

"If you dont have a Custom Recovery download this zip and extract the contents and use a file manager with root access to copy the files to the appropriate folders. If you have a odexed rom remember to delete or rename SecPhone.odex file if manually pushing the files."
So what files exactly are all needed to make this work when I do a manual push? I have an odexed ROM and would like to push the files manually- I do not have a custom recovery (nor do I want one at this time). I merged the button and menu download folders. I am assuming that I do not copy over the META INF folder only the system folder- but I just want to make sure. Also I am deleting the secphone.odex from the system/app folder of the phone?

Extract my zip and copy the files to the appropriate folders SecPhone.apk to /system/app folder then delete SecPhone.odex or rename it like this SecPhone.odex to SecPhone.odex.bak then copy snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 and snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3_auxpcm to /system/etc/snd_soc_msm. It is ok to overwrite these 2 files. Then Reboot. Then go to settings to applications to the all applications tab find Phone and clear data. Reboot again should have call recording enabled.

So updating the files bricked by phone. I restored everything and attempted another try. What ended up happening that caused my train wreck was- I transferred the files to my phone via bluetooth. When I looked at the files (after- yeah I know-mistake) the names of the 2 fusion files had "null" at the end of the extension. The second time around I sent them to the phone via data cable and all was good.
So now it works awesome, thanks much for the efforts and the help.

Wondering if anybody had this issue, right now running crawrj_stock mf9 rooted and reaverepats-........ Theme and when I flash this Mod the Wi-Fi breaks. Stuck in "turning on" status. Is there somn that I'm not doing right?
I flashed the one designated for theme.
Stock / themed one located in the first download section. Tried both Dex button and menu
Thanks in advance,
Z.

Ok dumb question but if I have a stock odexed ROM but was able to change the theme to the all black one (even though it is listed as for deodexed only - by manually pushing the apk), what do I push manually from the menu zip to get this to work without reverting back to white using the full apk version? The snd_soc_msn folder under etc and the secphone.apk inside the vrtheme folder?

Well an FYI if anyone has had this issue.....
I ended up flashing a modified kernel and all is working well. I wanted to stick close as stock as I could and ended up using Negemans stock kernel from the OP posted for his ROM.
