Problems to look out for - Asus Transformer TF700

So I just ordered my tf700 for pickup and was wondering what problems should I look out for? a good member jjdevega told me to look out for these
Check cameras
-Check Haptic feedback
-Battery drain (amount of heat)
-Check to see if screen is separating.
-Check overall build quality
- It should want to update firmware once your on the home screen.
but is there anything else?

Lol thanks.
Well I forgot to add...
-Check for dead pixels
-Volume (make sure it's not blown)
-Make sure you have a serial number (if none you won't be able to download updates)
-Check your CPU speeds (some are reporting speeds are hanging at 1500MHz)

where would I check for the serial number?
Gosh darnit, wh does this tablet have so many possible problems, I'm one click from ordering, why can't it just be like the ipad...
How come some people are reporting stellar battery life and some people have horrible battery life?

Don't worry about it do much. Most people have no issues. Just a small percentage. Forums are this way more negatives then positives. Makes it look like majority but its not the case. What I suggested to you to check are just a checklist not issues at least for the majority

Doesn't matter where you order from. Build quality is checked abroad (USA) and hasn't been very good. Have to remember a very small percentage of people that are owners are here and if there are that many negative posts, then I would believe there are lots out there with issues.

I smell an OS war brewing.

What's the best way to check your CPU's speed?

How much does BestBuy get for the Asus TF700T Infinity?
Did you order the 32 or the 64 gig one?
Is yours going to be gray or the champagne color?
Do you think you will get the keyboard dock?
Are you going to keep the your Apple product?
How long have you had the ipad?

Unknown serial number is known in the Prime community... Maybe it's different for the infinity but if there were no serial number sticker he could check that way.

When I had the Prime before the Infinity people were complaining that they couldn't get otas. All due to unknown serial number. It will literally say unknown where the status serial number should be. Anyways it's a possible that it could happen to the Infinity since it's from the same company.

Linaro: any difference? Overhyped?

All this talk about linaro, well, only ROMs that have it is Dark Unicorn and aospX by synthetic.nightmare. but does it really make a difference? is performance and battery life improved? if so, by how much?

Yes, this statement is more accurate. On our device, I'd have to agree with what reality said and although it may not show up on benchmarks, that smooth, snappy feeling is what makes me stick to aospX and what made me decide to bring it to our device.
To add on to this... the way I see it is if someone scores higher than me on a benchmark and their scrolling isn't as smooth as mine, I'm gonna be the one laughing. I don't see why there's such an obsession with benchmarking anyway.

Why is it that I can get on this Transformer TF700 forum with my tablet using the xda premium app but cannot find this forum on my desktop computer using a browser?

Depends on whats stopping you. Do you mean your not seeing the TF700 listed? If so then it's likely the new layout when you click forums. The 2012 theme shows popular devices, not all devices by default, youy have to click all. Then hit control+f to bring up the search bar and type tf700 or just scroll almost to the bottom of the listings to find it. Good luck. That how I had to find it.

No problems there . It is just annoying how upset some people get over these things. I will still mess with it. I am starting with compiling for my phone since I don't have to unlock it and know the hardware is working.
So back to the actual topic. Would it be easiest to base cm10 off of the one for the tf201 and use the kernel from asus for the tf700? Or would that not work?

That's my plan. We will have to mess around with the nvidia prop files to see what works best. Unfortunately, I can't unlock my TF700 atm due to the bug that many others are experiencing. So, I can't do much until that is fixed.

Too bad, sorry for that .I can't wait to see a CM on the Infinity and this damn bug or whatever it is is keeping us from have it.I've seen a lot of guys in the TF300T forum having the same issue (my wife's tf300t unlocked just fine and hope my tf700 will do it too) and some said that doing a factory restor and starting the tablet without any account did the trick, others said that doesn't worked for them and who tried to contact Asus for this got this answer " they do not support any issues that customers are having with the unlock tool" .Sandly seems that the only way for now is to ask a replacement because the device doesn't receive OTA updates (also it seems that who is affected by the bootloader unlock also doesn't receive OTAs) and hope you will get a new one that works.

Android 4.2 comes to Prime so most likely also soon to TF700

Android 4.2 announced by ASUS:

nice, I love JB on this thing, any more optimization is fine by me

Hats off to Asus, for keeping the updates coming. Some OEM are still trying to get Jelly Bean 4.1 rolled out. Meanwhile Asus is setting up to push 4.2 to much of the Transformer line.

Yeah around my house it's compared to going through someone's wallet or purse! Rude!
im not sure how i feel about having the nav buttons in the center of the screen. also i saw some video of the multitasking, seems to take up a strip running in the center(horizontally) across the screen instead of alone the left side vertically, definitely not a fan of that look.
this multiuser feature is nothing new really, have been using it through an app called "SwitchMe" for a long time and it works great: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.switchme. there's also a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807524

I wouldn't worry too much...if there are that many issues, they will be addressed. The last thing they want is to lose all credibility while they're spending more money developing key lime pie. Perception is a key component of how valuable a company's stock is, and I am sure they realize that. Just my opinion.

What, you want me to post all 1,729,022 wallpapers? I can't even begin to guess everyone's taste... It's much easier for everyone involved to post the website, as opposed to images which get downscaled so far they're unusable on this tablet anyhow.
Also, just how much of this entire thread was because you needed to get 10 posts?

I am just wondering about your rambling, specifically you comment about 10 posts. What in the blazes do you mean about that? Do post come in 10 pack or something? Common sense would imply that if I needed to get 10 post for some reason that I am unaware of, I would have probably posted each background or wallpaper individually. hmm
