So i have a question. i am running bean rom with the exec 0.1 kernel i believe. i have set cpu booting this thing up at 1.9ghz. it seems stable so far. is this safe? Also, say i want to go back to my stock root . Can i just use my nandroid backup on CWR 6.0.1? will it remove the kernel?
Thank You,
PAUL

At this point anyone know how I go back to the stock 2.1 EPE54B build (ATT 3G bands)?
Thanks for any assistance
your phone is rooted so all you need to do is look for a 2.1 Rom from your phone forum and then flash that Rom. This should take you back to 2.1
Also if you did a nandroid backup before you upgraded to 2.2 then you can boot into recovery and do a nanadroid restore to take you back to 2.1.
If you do not have a nanadroid back up then that is why we always advise to do a nanadroid backup before flashing any Roms....

I use titanium is that ok? Also do I need to flash the radio back to the older one or can I keep the froyo one?
EPE54B update zip should be ok from here right? Also if I do need to flash back the radio can I also use the files from here?

Ok titanium is ok, but before you flash back to 2.1 I would recommend a nandroid. A nandroid back up would restore your entire system/os just,in case u need to restore your system.
About the radio: you do not need to flash back the radio, this is not required.
Now you can use any of the stock 2.1 rom of your choice from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=744605
What I would have not ks this:
1.Titanium back up
2. Nandriod back
3.wipe data, factory reset, etc
4. Flash 2.1 rom
Reboot and u are back to 2.1 stock
Remember do not flash back the radio

Sorry for all the questions but I know with CM you need to also install google add ons for the market and maps and such. Is that also the case with this? Or since they are stock they automatically come with it?
NP. Anything that's stock will be included in the rom. It may not be the latest version but you will have an option to update once you lunch the market.
Also u,are doing a titanium backup so anything that's missing you can get back. Once you flash back u,can, check,to see if you have those apps, if u don't then just install and run titanium backup. You can run a restore operation to get all missing apps +data.

Thanks. Too bad I can't find the manual stock 2.2 in order to install it and try. On 2.1 I would get the Ota update request but it would fail saying invalid signature. Think it's cause of my recovery image.
Went to CM V5.0.8 and havnt had an issue since so there is a bug somewhere in 6 since a few other people are having similar issues as well
Checked the list of threads that appeared and didn't receive a definitive answer.
I know that it will restore to stock 2.3.3, but I'm just curious if the kernel will follow suit as well. I'm running Netarchy at the moment, but I want to get back to 100% stock ROM and kernel. I was told by a few people that a simple wipe doesn't always get the kernel. This could be true or false. I don't really care.
I'm assuming if the Stock nandroid backup was 100% stock, that it will restore the kernel, although I'm just looking for a simple confirmation or piece of direction.
Answers are appreciated, or links to a thread that answers the question if I missed it.
Thanks in advance everyone.
Yes if the nandroid back up has the stock kernel. A nandroid is a backup of the current state of your phone. For example, you did a nandroid of your phone when you were on MIUI rom + netarchy kernel. When you restore that nandroid it will restore MIUI + the netarchy kernel.
So if you download a nandroid in the development section then yeah, it should definitely return you to stock as long as that nandroid has the stock kernel.

Thank you very much for the reply and clarification. I appreciate it.
Hello,
As of right now I have root revolver (with nanadroid backup of it). I was considering installing this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514658
Would I be able to use my nandroid backup of revolver to rollback if it's not what I expect? Also will I be able to unroot like you do in honeycomb (Install stock fw and recovery)? I'm a bit confused because people are telling me different things. Thanks
you have to nandroid backup then flash the rom that you were using when you did the backup or else you will bootloop
Hi everyone!
I am fairly new with android and I just rooted my transformer last night. I was also able to install a custom ROM, revolver 3.11.1 (Honeycomb).
If I want to flash an ICS ROM (Revolver, Android Revolution or Codename), from a custom HC ROM, do I have to do anything else? Or can I just flash it straight away?
Based on what I've read, if ever I wish to downgrade back to honeycomb, I would not just flash a honeycomb ROM. I have found a few guides on how to downgrade back to Honeycomb from ICS. Is this correct?
Since you have cwm, It's as simple as going into recovery and flashing your desired custom rom.
Normal procedure (to avoid conflicts/problems) is to wipe and/or format before flashing a new rom.
A good tool to have is the superwipe lite script found in the Revolution HD thread. (I personally use that instead of the wipe option that is in CWM).
Oh...and you can also backup your current ROM and state by using the backup function in CWM BEFORE you wipe/format. Just in case you don't like the new rom and want to revert.
FYI...if you go ICS and want to restore your HC rom...a restore then a reflash of the HC Rom is needed.
Thanks for the reply!
Just to clarify, once I flash an ICS custom ROM and didn't like it, I can't just flash back to a HC custom rom or stock HC rom. Is this correct?

Yup. Even if you use the restore function...you need to flash that particular HC ROM over the restore. (Because the backup doesn't backup the kernel...so if you don't flash the HC rom...the ICS kernel is still there...and you won't be able to boot)
sorry to hijack the thread but my question is similar so i dun want to start a new one
I am currently on revolver 3.11 as well and thinking to update to a ICS custom rom
I am using the blade OC kernel at the moment. I just want to ask if the new rom comes with the ICS kernel or do I need to look for an ICS kernel to put it manually?
Also, I just want to check that Ti Backup does not back up downloaded data right?
Thanks a million

Everything is included when you flash one of the available ICS ROM.
There is no custom ICS kernel right now anyway as Asus have not released the kernel source.
Hey guys,
Does anyone know exactly how to do this? I remember when I first heard of TWRP someone listed this feature as one of the main reasons for using it over CWM. What I am trying to do is make Nandroids of CleanROM 2.3 with both the stock kernel and Clemsyn's kernel as well.
Thanks in advance!

I don't think you could backup just the kernel in any custom recovery. You could do a nandroid backup which will backup the rom/kernel and apps. So if you want to switch between stock and Clemsyn's kernel, you just run a nandroid backup of cleanrom(this is with stock kernel), and you want to try Clemsyn kernel, just flash the kernel then do another nandroid backup. So the first back will included Cleanrom/stock kernel +apps and the second backup will have cleanrom/Clemsyn kernel + apps. Now you can either just flash the kernel to switch back and forth or do a full restore to switch.
