Does anyone know if the BMW assist app is available to all devices or only select ones? It's apparently available on Android since last month but I can't find it on my TBolt, TF Prime or Galaxy Tab.
bmw roadside
There is the bmw roadside assistance app, it looks like it's been there since last month. If you can't see it on google play on your device you can look at it here https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwiY29tLmFsbHN0YXRlLmJtdyJd

Thanks for the link. I wonder why I can't find this through the Play Store. The only device I have compatible is my TBolt. Looks like there are a lot of issues with it. Hopefully they are fixed by the time our BMW arrives.

So I was just curious if anyone was going to develop for the new Google TV getting ready to get released? I definitely want to get one.
Also, will it work like the cell phones? Will it be possible to tweak your tv or add custom settings anything? I don't know much about it, but I was curious.
This is the first time hear about Google TV
Yes, you can either buy the stand alone box or the Sony TV with it built in.

I read that you will be able to control your Google TV set or box or whatever with your Android handset or iPhone.
Yup, they are supposed to simultaneously release the remote control app and the TV.

I got the logitech box today. Pretty sucky documentaion other than getting the thing hooked to the tv. I've been poking around in it for an hour or so. Im digging it I must say, and it has alot of potential. I just think they should have released the market at the same time with it.

Best Buy...
Stopped into Best Buy before work and picked up the Logitech unit.
Connected it to the DISH box.
And there is a fee to use DISH with Google TV.
Will play around with it some more after work...
How much are the boxes? And how much is the Sony TV?

Yeah I think we all do, but I guess the problem is probably that currently it doesn't live up to the requirements for being a *real* Android device (no GPS for instance).
And if Google were starting to make exceptions to the requirements for their own sake, it might very all make a lot of producers angry, all asking why they couldn't have an exception as well.
For 2.3 (or 3.0) they could write a different set of rules.
Hi
does anybody know if the logitech revue will work in australia with a simple power adapter or will it require something more
and will it work with Austar (pay tv service) or will it need support like dish network?
i refuse to wait the extra 3 months for the aussie release, cause apparently Oz is still a third world country
Thanks

I want to get one google tv so hard, its just sad in my country it probaly cost 3x the US price plus will late a lot to arrive. Brazil is just shame sometimes.
Not sure where else to post this question...Does our phones support Mirrorlink?
I'm am considering purchasing the Sony XAV-601BT which can connect to a compatible android phone. What is special about this is that it litterally mirrors what your phone's screen is and can therefore play apps like Maps, pandora, Angry Birds (LOL), etc...
I now have unlimited data so it's an easy decision to make when I buy it but I don't know if SGS4G is compatible.
I am wondering the exact same thing. From what I saw from the CES video it works with Nokia and Samsung already. I wonder if we can pull the app from the samsung and use it on any phone.

It may be available on Europe ROM with its DriveLink APK.
The MirrorLink is quite young on its development and spec, the version of Mirrorlink spec .is now 1.0.1 or 1.1
I didn't see any open source for this implementation yet which may help to make this widely available on smartphone, and car infotainment system.

No need to goto Q & A. The op posted this six months ago. Thread needs to be locked and people need to stop with the necrophilia.

I just ordered mine last night from best buy, will arrive on friday for me. Im really excited to try vr for the first time since virtual boy in the 90's lol. I am hoping some brilliant developers can modify the playstation remote play app or something like it so we can stream our console games to the gear vr!!!
I am very interested in this hardware but it's still nowhere to be seen in the EU. I have some questions about it though as I primarily want it to view movies and series with in bed at night. Is it compatible with other applications like Kodi and mxplayer or it's a closed ecosystem?

I just got one and I'm not 100% sure that it's good for watching videos. I watched a TV show on it and the quality/resolution wasn't very good. I need to experiment some more. Definitely want to try one out in person before buying I think.
I wondered if anyone knows what happened to the 1000 apps which should be available at launch as stated on CNBC ?
The store which you can access via the Samsung Gear app only has around 25 apps as far as I can see.
Thanks in advance
A year ago I had the gear 2 neo, the gear s2 has less apps than the neo, don't get your hopes up, they did the same with the neo,the apps are coming, never came, this time I expect the same

That's too bad... The SDK, documentation and support is really bad in comparison to others so I didn't expect wonders anyway. But without the intention to harm anyone; 90% of the apps currently available (excluding the watch designs) are very bad
It seems like a good opportunity for app developers to make money. If you develop a good app it's going to get exposure very fast and I think there are enough users to make it profitable.
At this point in time though I can't imagine wanting anything else to use on a smartwatch, I basically just use the step coounter, clock, messaging and dismiss incoming notifications.
The Voxer app are already available for the S2?
Can someone post screenshots of the Samsung Galaxy store? I don't have a device yet, I just want to know which apps are available and the current state of the store. Thanks
I have the gear s and waiting for the magic apps lol they still haven't come u

Is the voxer app much use given the lack of microphone on the wifi model?
There appears to be an open question regarding the Endomondo app coming to the Gear S2... Let see if that comes to pass
I have to admit I'm disappointed with the amount of apps available
Good thing I didn't get the watch for apps. Saved myself disappointment. I never really believed Samsung with their outlandish claims of 1000 apps on launch. Maybe there are 1000 apps out there, but most of them are just fugly watch faces.
Ironic after selling my Gear 2 in anticipation of the s2 and the once again loads of apps that never materialise I decided to look into Android Wear and realised their app selection is just app bad.
Was $80.00 yesterday and noticed it just dropped to $50 so wanted to let everyone know who wants to snag one up. Hopefully i don't have any issues with it. Anyone know if there dropping support or coming out with new ones. Would rather get a new one if so.

BB sold these in stores for $50 couple months ago. And Target had clearance sale for as cheap as $15 a month or so ago as well. No information for any upcoming player yet.
If Google can fix the dreaded video brightness problem, it is worth the price, IMO. But for now, it is useless as video player.

Im going to test and see if mine has the issue and if i can live with it. May have to return it if its to bad. Do you know if custom ROM's remedy the issue ?
Every NP running Marshmallow 6.0 has the issue. No need to test. Google has now admitted it openly(https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=188667). No idea when the fix will come. It's problem with Android 6.0 (Nexus 5X and 6P are also affected).
I see this often but its been $50 on the ASUS store for weeks and they even offer a cheap bundle with the controller
I just ordered mine about 10 minutes ago. I used the $20 Best Buy gift card from using Android Pay!! Looking forward to picking this thing apart and seeing what it is capable of.

Sick! You're going to love it!
Thanks for OP, I got another NP from BB. Just set it up today and it is running Android 5.0. The YouTube PQ is night and day compared to my other NP running Android 6.0.1 (washed out color). I know if I leave it plugged in, it will auto-update to 6.0.1 and get the same crappy PQ. So, I packed it up and wait for Google to release the fix. Android 6.0.1 does not contain the fix for NP.

Yeah I just bought 2. Planning to root both and install TWRP. Hopefully if it's 6.0 I will flash a custom rom based on 5.1. I'm hoping we can do that. I'm hoping it doesn't come with 6.0.

Lmao...see what being an AT&T customer will do to you? I was expecting the worst. Logged into my account. Downloaded Kodi. Added a source which auto-config what i needed. Working good soo far.
If you like Kodi, the Marshmallow video bug does not affect it(it has its own video rendering engine). So, that's a good thing.
I personally hate the interface (it is like stuck in 90's UI).

I think Kodi has a few different themes you can download. Might like a different one more.
