VRLG1 Stock Rom Where? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I am looking for the VRALG1 stock bloated rom that you flash in ODIN. i just unrooted and could only find the vrafl2 rom.
could i root again with vrafl2 and then flash recovery and go to a vlgr1 custom rom and intsall kernel and modem in odin?
Thanks
paul

I saw that file and tried forever to get it working. Why when i click "software update" "check new". it says NO New Update?
Also is vrafl2 with vrlg1 boot and vrlg1 modem the same as vrlg1 all togethor?

I'm using this stock bloated ROM but already rooted: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29921524&postcount=94

The link is now fixed...invisiblek said it was a bad upload.

I got a stock img from galaxys3root.com

I searched that site and found nothing. Also I see nothing by invisible that is a stock unmodified Odin file
Edit: I found it in the "stock rom" thread, even though the title only says LF2.

No problem. There's no way unless you flash a custom ROM that's as closed to stock as possible.
Sent from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 4G LTE
^ agreed! flash a custom stock rom in recovery such as beans or synergy...thats as close as you will get to stock without using odin.
Took me awhile to figure this out.
And what I found out is you have to flash one of the stock roms before the kernel or it won't work. You have to be unlocked of course. Flash any Rom in cwm then after it installs and your still in recovery flash the stock kernel. Here's a link to the kernel

How to flash Asus 4.1.1 firmware

I am currently on Zeus 4.0 and do not quite understand how I can flash the firmware from the Asus site. Can I simply flash the file through TWRP?
Thanks in advance.

You can,but if you are still on 9.4.5.26 bootloader i would recommend you to use the NvFlash tool first (see the Development forum for nvflash).
Already done. Thought those files might come in handy one day.

You have to extract the zip ,it will result in another .zip wich you can use with TWRP.

Question about downloading Verizon ota jelly bean update

I currently have leaked version vrblk3. I only flashed thru odin, nothing more. Am I able to download Verizon's ota update?

So you don't have CWM or TWRP installed?
No, I don't think so. All I did was copy tar file in odin and flash. Nothing more.

Just got the notice in Colorado
I have CWM installed. I guess I need t remove it to install the OTA. What's the best approach?

Why bother? The leaked version and the OTA are the same thing.

This! Leaked is now official...the build number didn't change so there is nothing to gain by taking the OTA.
I understand your point. Even so, if I were to decide to flash back to stock in order to update ota, I am able to just put my phone in odin mode and flash the stock ics Rom over my leaked vrblk3 Rom, correct?

Yes. Depending on which Odin file you flash, it may fully wipe your internal storage (including all your pictures, etc.), so make sure you read before you flash and backup your data accordingly! If you really want the OTA though, why not flash the Odin file for the JB OTA? That is the same thing as going back to stock, you'll just be fully updated already.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974114
Ok, thank you. And as far as using the odin file jelly bean, I new nothing about it. I'm new to this custom stuff and it seems that I need to keep everything up to date manually. If there were automatic updates and what not I'd be more apt to running custom roms.

Unroot needed for upgrade to latest stockrom?

I have the ATT skyrocket rooted and unlocked when I first got the phone in 2011, and is on 4.04. I remember that the post said that I must unroot if I want to upgrade the rom OTA from ATT. Is there any other way to upgrade to the latest stockrom without unroot? I cannot find the post I originally referenced to root/unlock.

^^ what he said. Just get the .tar file from sammobile.com and flash using Odin. You will lose root after this process.
If you want to update using kies (the update is not ota. You have to use kies. ) then s long as kies detects your phone and you have a stock recovery, you should be OK.
However, I believe that you will loose your apps and data with both the methids.. So just use Odin

Thank you very much. I should be able to re-root after the upgrade, correct? Or the lastest 4.1.2 cannot be rooted yet?
I have problem with Odin before, never got anything done with it. Let me try it this time.

Yes you can root the new jb using the same procedure as before.

If your rooted why not just flash a stock rom with the newest update. That will save you the trouble of dealing with Odin.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Trouble? Odin is as simple as place file in pda and click start. I don't see any trouble there....

I meant it more of an hassle. Plug in Odin then uproot do the update then reroot. Just seems so much easier to flash a stock base rom.

Why would you unroot to do the update via Odin. I believe your logic is flawed here. Although I do agree an install would be expeditious via recovery, your argument is flawed.

Just FYI - I was on rooted stock, and just did the update with Kies without unrooting. Now i'm on JB unrooted as a result.

[Q] Unauthorized System?

Hey guys. I just rooted my phone and I installed TWRP and I went to recovery and it said "Unauthorized System" or something like that. I realized that I didn't unlock the bootloader. But how do I put the stock recovery on my phone?

If on 4.3 update you can't at this time. Your bricked. If on 4.1.2 need to Odin the 4.1.2 tar and start over.

Yea. No way to fix until there is an Odin image or some one makes an Odin flashable stock recovery image.

Yea. Lucky you didn't try to downgrade back or unlock. Would have full brick. At least have a phone for now. You are better off than a lot of them on here.
