I'm guessing it's not an issue, but I just wanted to make sure before I invested in the adapter. So anyone know if tv-out is functional with aosp roms?

I have a feeling it doesn't but I don't know for sure.
I know I went through hell with that feature on my previous Rezound. I use the MHL HDMI out feature every day & some of the most awesome ROMs would work perfectly except that MHL HDMI feature would be broken & I would have to revert to a more stock based ROM.
I briefly tried using MHL out on d2hacker's 7/26 build of CM10, and I had no success. I've been on Synergy since then, so I can't speak to more recent builds. Now that you mention it, I don't recall it being mentioned as a known issue.
For reference, my daily driver is Synergy and I use the 11-pin to 5-pin adapter, which works as expected on TW roms.

Hi, apologies if this is a really dumb question but have not been able to fine anything definitive on this yet.
I have an MHL adaptor and an HDMI cable and with stock rom with this all connected to my TV this mirrored whatever was on the phone screen on the TV.
I have sinced rooted and installed CM Alpha and now this does not seem to work.
Is the HDMI out functionality supported in custom roms? Are there any apps that can add this functionality that anyone is aware of, is is this still a bit "too new"?
There may be a patch for it or you might wanna do a wipe and reinstall
Search the thread for cm alpha for a patch related to your problem. Not currently running that Rom so can't exactly pin point it for ya sorry.
Let me know if this helped
They're still working on all that stuff like HDMI mirroring. Its still an alpha build so just wait until they have the nightlies starting to roll out.
I know this is an old topic but is there now a patch for the Sensation (4G) that will add hdmi mirroring to cyanogenmod. Is a nightly build avaliable? Is there a diffrent custom rom? All I want is Sixaxis to work with hdmi mirroring on my phone.
Anyone know what the chances are that USB audio support will be added in to CM10 for the GS3? Or are there any jelly bean roms that support it? If not, are there any workarounds to get it working?
Using CM10 as my daily driver and that's the only feature I miss from TW. Please let me know if any of you have anything. Thanks
I am in the same boat. Trying to get my Samsung Multimedia dock working again
Reading the implementation guidelines on http://developer.android.com/tools/adk/adk2.html#audio-dock makes it seem like the accessory to which you are connecting to must explicitly support the android implementation of USB Audio, not sure though.
CM10 is still in experimental stages for our device. It's got a looong way to go before being close to 'done' so all these features will show up in time, I'm fairly confident in that.

Also very curious about this
I have to believe
I really hope cm10 will support this. I know its trivial but it would be nice not having to plug in two cables in my car dock.
Tomorrow's commit has to do with USB Audio. Hopefully it will affect our device as well.
I have been having trouble finding a kernel that supports MHL, and a decent ROM in which to run said kernel. I really like SKY and Embryo for their call recording functionality, but I also require the MHL HDMI support. I have heard that CM 10 runs MHL well, however my problem remains that I need a good ROM that supports the kernel without a brick/ineffiiciency. I am currently on GB 2.6.35 on a custom NEXUSMOD ROM and it simply doesn't cut it. If I can just flash my kernel that would be ok too.
Try them for yourself find what works if your too lazy for that then this isn't the site for you

Any cm10 Rom
Lightning kernel
but waffle is right, research bro
Yea, so far Im running Sky ICS, an older version because I like the call recording features; and the MHL is supported. CM10 is pretty awesome however I really do fancy the built in call recording! Thanks for the reply

CM10. Works really well. Other than than, just try them all out. Grab one a day until you find one you like.
Good luck.
mhl question
I'm not sure if this fits but i had a problem with mhl using CM10 (stable; kernel:kernel that came with it)
When i plug the adapter in the screen auto rotates to landscape, I'm ok with that, but the problem is any app (ex: temple run) that only has portrait mode isn't displayed. All I see is a black screen on my TV. I saw on youtube people with stock roms display portrait stuff so I was wondering if it was possible on CM. Anyone have similar problem? Help plz?
Has anyone had any luck tracking down a decent ROM (much preferably one as close to vanilla android as possible) that actually still has working MHL? I've done a good bit of searching through most of the individual ROM threads and it seems like this is something that is hardly ever mentioned. I realize that it's missing in CM, much to my sadness as that has been my best experience with a custom ROM thus far. need something that works with my appradio 2!
I'm on $droyd$'s jellybean nonsense build 6 right now and it's not bad, but still too HTC-y for my tastes (plus i'm on hboot 1.14.0004 right now so no wifi for me )

Dark jelly s edition supports OTG im using bubba kernel along with this... Will check the MHL availability and will post back...
Cheers
This interests me too. In my test of different ROMs I found that trick droid and viper work but make the phone freeze after the mhl cord is removed. Black bean, avatar, jellybam and codename lungo don't work with mhl. None of the awesome cm based ones are supposed to work with hdmi
I keep going back to nonsense which has since been closed. I only have version 4 and version 6 seems to be unavailable for download. Now after almost 5 months as my daily driver I started having Bluetooth issues and I have to load music via USB from the recovery since that must have been removed from it.

I got the same results

I have the same problems, freezing when disconecting mhl cord y trick droid and viper. And with trickdroid 10.x.x there is no output.
I also have opened thead in Q&A, to see if Torxx can help us with trickdroid 10.x.x
On my AT&T HOX (evita S-OFF, upgraded to 3.18 firmware), I cannot find an AOSP rom where the mic on my HTC or any other 3rd party wired headphones will work. It only will use the mic that is built into the phone itself. If I use any Sense-based rom, the wired headset mic works just fine. Would love to stay on AOSP for battery life and performance, but this is a showstopper when trying to talk hands free on business calls. Anyone have any hints as to what I can do to get the wired mic recognized? Or just why it won't work?
Thanks!

I see lots of reads, but nobody else is experiencing the same issue?
Have you only tried aosp ROMs with the 3.4 kernel? Or have you tried older aosp ROMs with the 3.0 kernel?

I'll load up an AOSP with a 3.0 kernel to try it. Is the wired mic working with your device? Which ROM? I am currently on ViperXL, which uses the 3.4 kernel, but it is Sense.
I'm currently on MagioRom, but I've used every aosp ROM available (apart from Xylon). I haven't used a wired headset in a while because mine broke, and I'm not sure how long ago that was, so I'm not sure whether I can confirm it worked for me on the 3.4 kernel. I know it's definitely worked for me on the 3.0 kernel.

I installed the CM 10.0 stable from last December that uses the 3.0 Kernel, and the wired microphone works. Great suggestion! I'll go back to the devs and see if they can understand what happened in 3.4 to kill that. Thanks!
The issue is already posted in the CM10.1 issue tracker, so the devs are already aware of this issue. I believe this is a recurring issue with AOSP ROMs using the 3.4 kernel, because I was using CM10.1 prior to that takedown that stopped nightlies for us and was not experiencing this issue.
Others will say that it works fine over bluetooth. That's the answer that I have been given a couple times, but not the answer that I was looking for myself.
