HI,
ics was running fine for me for a couple of days (besides the known bugs with all the ICSs). Yesterday I was playing some music from google music through aux in my car when i got a phone call from my friend. The build lagged where i couldnt do anything for liek3 mins. and then from then on all my apps started crashing. music went first then i tried opening ohter stuff and they all also went down. the only thing that semiworked was the browser app but that too crashed after 30 seconds. anyone else have this issue? any fix for it?

forgot to mention it did the same thing even after multiple reboots

If you had this problem before (either on other ROM's or previously on your current ROM):just on this
If you wiped Cache:ya
If you wiped Data:YA
If you tried installing another ROM:been on other ics b4
Any other things you already tried (BE SPECIFIC!):rebooting lol
also sidenote all the ics build seem to be working fine at first but eventually end up slowing down even tho i regularly close apps. any fix for this?

I have a SNS running NSCollab 1.0.12 and for some odd reason my shazam widget doesn't work. I first noticed it didn't work when i upgraded to Cyanogen 7, however in NSCollab I have same issue witch leads me to believe it's a problem with Cyanogen?
Does anybody else have this problem with Cyanogen 7 on SNS or another phone? I did have some problems with all my widgets before (where they kept overlapping), but i took care of it by wiping and reinstalling. Everything runs fine with Modaco Gr14. I've tried wiping several times, reflashing but i keep having issues with this.
Another thing I noticed is some kind of random reboot (especially when i have it plugged in). It happened when I was running stock also and I know there are others who have this issue as well, but this shazam widget not working has me puzzled (what else could be messed up)?
Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks!
same problem with cyanogen 7 in my htc desire.
Someone is having problems with lag on youtube version 2.3.4? Slowdowns of every 5 seconds, in several different roms gives the same problem, now if I install an older version of youtube, the problem goes away, back to normal.
Someone is having this problem?
I tested it on two sensations, which is on my 710E and my friend who is 4G.
do the test with you, pay close attention to the video if it will not slow down, then come back normal, is 5 sec slows down again, back to normal there.
dont have any problems with mine. are you using wifi connection or 3g connection?
It happens to mine as well, except that the default YouTube App version is lagging the video playback ONLY when Timeline bar is brought up and keeps lagging unless it disappears.
I am trying to find out wether this is Software ( ROM or w/e ) issue or Hardware.
I did take my phone to warranty service and they were unable to help. Jerks.
I am seriously willing to void warranty and flash preinstalled ROM with CM or just a stock one, ONLY IF I know for sure that his is Software issue.
Note:
I did test for this issue on multiple WiFi's and 3G ... to no avail. I think it started after 2nd factory data reset I did, and nothing changes when I do the reset ...
This problem DOES NOT occure when you play the video via Internet Browser on youtube.com or m.youtube.com
I am concered about Hardware issue since phone feel sluggish overall ( slideshow scrolling when there are not that many elements on UI ... ) and it lags a bit 1080p video (picky,ye ...)
Edit :
My thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1444808
the problem is that if you install the old version of youtube everything back to normal, it is clear that the problem is in software
Well, I guess I am going to live with laggy phone/youtube app for now. Should get ICS update and see if it fixed the issue, if not...
I am going ROOT that mofo and take that *@#$ ROM down with my own bare hands.
actually, after installing the latest version of the ICS ARHD 6.1.1, which also comes with youtube 3.3.0 the problem is over.
Glad you fixed it. ICS Is the best
For now.
Hello everyone it has been a long time since I've posted here. I really refrained from posting here since I know everyone else is dealing with the XT720 which is different, but I have tried everything. I am so close to it finally working perfectly.
I'm currently running this CM9 ROM: http://115.com/file/c2c50r7v#updatecm9.0.0RC0umts-sholesUNOFFICIALsigned-NIGHTLY-20120605.zip
from this link: http://www.anzhuo.cn/thread-293117-1-1.html
It seems to be the godsend for my phone. Mainly cause It has been a long time since I've ran a stable ROM that can be clocked at 1.0Ghz. I don't know about the XT720 but all the ROMs that has been released can only be overclocked to 800Mhz.
I flashed the CM9 ROM and then flashed the "gapps-gb-20111216-signed" for the Google apps. For the first time in months (before I was using a CM9 and CM7 before) I finally had wifi working. I don't really use much wifi (other than updating apps) so it didn't bother me back then. Everything else was working (cept for panoramic in the camera APP which NEVER works ever). But its like Motorola was playing a sick joke on me; I couldn't download/update my apps. I loaded everything fine but when I clicked download, I just see the download bar moving, but it never finishes. Weirdly, I reflashed everything and I suddenly got the error 921 (which I proceeded to search for a solution), but then after when I tried again, the error was gone and it was back to idle download bar. I did not change anything to the phone during that period.
So now I finally have XT701 clocked at 1.0 (like back in the day) with smartass/lagfree governors, working wifi, phone, audio and everything but I can't update/download apps.
I have tried:
-clearing data/cache for google play
-clearing data/cache for download manager
-reflashing with the 3 wipes for every step
What is the problem? Does it have to do with the bands? When I first flashed the ROM i had to change the network settings to Canada(Telus) cause it was set at somewhere else. Is that the problem?
Thanks in advance
Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but I am having a rebooting issue with the ROM. The phone seems to reboot while using Google Talk, specifically while typing, the phone just locks up for a few seconds and reboots. It seems to also always be when I'm either typing on the keyboard, or getting focus on a box that requires the keyboard for input. I thought it might be an issue with the gApps that I have installed, but I flashed back to my backup of v7.1, and the issue no longer persists.
Also, a general problem with HO!NO!, on both v7.1 and 8.2, the camera app crashes my phone quite a lot. It is random, so I can't say exactly what's causing it.
Also, is it normal for a phone to have completely incorrect time after rebooting (from a crash by the camera app, I should add) without a data signal? (This was a problem for v7.1. It updates fine within a second with a data signal, but the time seems to default to 00:00 without data.) I was in a place with no signal and all the pictures I took ended up with time stamps of something like December of 2002.
I'm currently using HO!NO! v7.1 with kernel version 3.0.8-HO!NO!_Mod-cyanogenmod+ and Cyanogen Mod version 9-20120721-UNOFFICIAL-p930.
I have the same issue. Same trouble with Jellybean too. I think it's something to do with the Kernel. we need a custom kernel soon!
Since I'm seeing lots of reports of The Galaxy Project having these two issues, I thought I'd create a poll to see where we're at.
i've only experienced some freeze and reboots in previous version of the rom (which i flashed dirty), the new one seems to be better, maybe also because i did a format of everything except memory card before installing the newest version.
I have to mention it happened mostly when i was playing a game that asks a lot of power from my phone so i figured it might have been caused by the game, still i voted that i had the freeze and restarts (easely more then 10 times in previous rom which was on my phone for some months) as it did not only happened while playing that game.
If it happens more on this new version of the rom i will update,
for the phone app crashing, someone mentioned using default theme to be a solution
I'm running a pretty vanilla ROM, no kernel tweaks, no themes. I have flashed clean several times to try and resolve the issues. No dice.
Although it's hardly representative, I think the poll responses show that more people are experiencing this then not experiencing this.
The only people answering the poll are experiencing crashes for any number of reasons. But that said it's almost definitely an introduced issue with the kernel/ROM - there was a clear point at which it started occurring as of an update a few versions back.
I'm running with an alternate kernel and haven't had an issue thus far (but too early to tell). Someone else reported swapping out the kernel fixed their crashes.
You should post the poll on the TGP kernel thread, rather than just the rom thread.
