Why can't I run stock roms?? - HTC Inspire 4G

I have a question. I can run ice roms and sense 3.5 toms just fine but when I try to run stock roms everything works great except that when I make or receive calls the person on the other end tells me that they can barely hear me that there is a lot of static and or noise like I am driving down the highway with.the windows down. Any idea why this is?? I always root every phone I get the first day I get it so I don't know if this problem was happening before root or not. Thanks in advance

What are the version numbers of the stock roms you are running? If they are desire hd roms then they will not have the correct sound files for the inspire 4g. There are really only 2 stock roms other than the one originally shipped on phone. 2.47.502.7 and 3.20.502.52

Right now I'm running superstock Rom but I have also ran the rooted stock Rom with sense 2.1. If its a problem with my phone then how come call quality is clear with ics or sense 3.5 roms???

It sounds like it isn't your phone since when the right files are installed it works right. Like I stated earlier just make sure the dev is actually using an inspire base when saying "stock Rom". Try and flashing the new Att Rom released on July 31st. And also be sure your wiping everything, (data, cache, dalvik and android.secure). You could even wipe system although all roms do it during installation. And don't flash anything on to it like inspire mod or sound fix. If it is still fail then I don't know what it could be.

Ok thanks will try it

so i just Came to the Inspire 4G from the Samsung Fascinate (kinda)..

Hey guys, I'm elijahblake just got away from Cellular South and came back to ATT!!!
First off, damn i'm glad to be back with att and Glorious GSM
Secondly glad to be a way from that gimped Galaxy S...
This phone STOCK already blows away the Galaxy S hacked to hell and back..
So i'm pretty new to HTC, i've flashed a couple friends Desires for them to cm6 and cm7..
And so far i've noticed the process is a little different for the Inspire, but i've found several different instructions, i think i can figure it all out, Got the Goldcard done..
But my main question is maybe a little feedback on some of the ROMS..
I've had some experience with MIUI/cm7 and personally i kinda bought this phone because i knew it was supported my cm7.
I guess the main question in this long post, is cm7 fully functional on the Inspire 4G?
Also i was planning on rooting via this link: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-permanently-root-htc-inspire-4g-with-hack-kit/
but it seems if i go that route, i won't be able to do a Nandroid of my Factory ROM.. Is that an issue with this phone or is the factory RUU for the Inspire 4G available somewhere?
Thanks in advance guys..
It's a little overwelming for someone coming from a showcase with very little dev support (b/c of the lack of source from Samsung) coming to a device where i actually have to make a decision on which awesome ROM i want to flash (that's fully functional)lol...
Look forward to helping out where i can and a BIG Thanx to all the AWESOME DEVS!!!
The ruu is available for the inspire and good luck! =}

i was planning on flashing cm7 after i root.. there's nothing wrong with it is there?
Its a non sense so if you dont want all the Sense features the CM7 is nice to use. Im using Phoenix non sense ROM and its pretty good. CM7 was also good when I had it. Maybe the best non sense ROM. But if you want a Sense ROM then go with CoreDroid. I loved that ROM but Sense kills alot of battery so I switched.
yeah i've flashed cm7 on a couple Desire's and honestly i've been wanting it since lol... I like it a lot, so does it improve performance over factory?
Yeah CoreDroid looks really cool too, i see he's got a lot of improvements in that.. but i really like AOSP especially cm7
Yeah try CM7 and if you dont like it go with Phoenix I love that ROM

well, of course the rooting process is snagging up... From that link i posted above part 2 step 4.. I opened terminal the first time and typed in the temp root perfectly fine exited out, opened up terminal again got the FC, tried to open it again and it won't open
And the phone is really laggy now like it's being bogged down, so i FClosed all the un needed processes running but it still won't open terminal emulator..
I rebooted temp rooted in terminal, closed, and same thing.. Rom Manager is installed and terminal emulator so i know the new ROM got flashed, b/c they weren't there before..
Just don't know why terminal emulator is giving me these problems
i'm supposed to type this in terminal emulator:
cd /data/local
./gfree -f
sync
/data/local/tmp/root
sync
would it be the same thing using adb? or would it be different commands?
It looks like terminal is opening now but it's just a blank white screen... i think i'm going to try and download it from the market??? I really don't get why it's doing this
Cm7 on the inspire works perfectly. Battery life, gps, and overall everything runs smoothly and effectively. I love it! Try it and you won't go back, good luck! (don't forget to flash gapps for the google apps)
well, this sux... I'm downloading the RUU from here
and then i'm going to do the one Click from HERE
Not sure why i didn't just try this method to begin with?? i'm a HTC noob
Cm7 installed and kicking ass

I don't know... Try to quit all processes before you install with task manager.
Go to the original thread and send your adb logcat output, maybe the dev can help you out.
installed perfectly.
i can see the person on the other end good but the volume seems to be pretty low to be useful.
Yes, even with the volume maxed out it's pretty low. Using a headset is useful

nah, i was going to let this one ride
Lol Thanks for your answer but maybe you don't understand I'm running miui with stable oc and all..My question wasn't if I could download Rom in our dev section I was asking if rom manager worked with flashing on phones I would like to make something if it doesn't work on our phone .
Example.
I don't know if anyone has an Acer a500 but in the market they have a premium app called Acer recovery. That APP downloads/flashes roms, recovery files, themes, kernels, fixxes, and other needs that is what I would like to do for this device.
Sorry for the confusion.

Yea I just seen that sorry I'm new to inspire but I'd like to create somthing that has those Roms plus these on xda but I'm sure id get shot down with the quickness since Rom manager seems to rule..

you can create whatever you like, it has been tried before, but the de-facto happens to be rom manager.
i would go out on a limb by saying that 85% of flashing is done via downloading the rom zip to the phone and booting into recovery. its kind of what people have been bred to do at this point. rom manager doesnt work well every time, so creating something unique would be a hard niche to snag
Yea I agree I use Rom manager only for a couple of roms back with the incredible but all ways wanted something else.. that I can grab links from the net. Id like to do an app that would do webhosting with updated regularly updated Roms, kernels, radios, themes you know how it is checking xda and Rom manager for stuff it gets tedious and would be great for a app that gives u everything with a push of the button of course is have to find help for such an app great idea ill start development as soon as I can.

Got to agree with PG. I even tell people that use certain rom's to avoid rom manager as it doesn't always work. As for another app of this sort, the hard part is getting the Dev to update it. Mainly sense you can't just add everything without asking permission from each of the dev for the rom, theme, kernel, ext.

Random restarts vs stock rom

Ok so i rooted my phone and never had a g2 style of restart where it just rebooted on its own... Until i started flashing customs roms i tried leedroid, coredroid, p3d, bulletproof and all of them gave me random reboots almost every 10 to 30 mintues apart so i decided to restored my stock backup and havent had any reboots after that... Is there anything i can do to fix this or did i miss a step on rooting or putting my recovery image... Like I knw what im doing when flashing because i did it to my mytouch 4g all the time just sucks to be on a call or a text or browing and get random reboot because of the custom roms... Future thanks to anyone who can help me out because i cant stand the stock rom so ugh (restricted)

That certainly is strange. I remember when I was using the G2, I was getting a lot of force restarts, especially during the CM7 RC period.
On the Sensation, I've been using Android Revolution HD for a while and it's been extremely stable for me. I just make sure I'm using the Super Wipe script in clockwork and then just flashing the rom + addons like normal. I haven't had a single force restart since the ROMs started getting based off 2.3.4. Give it a try and see if it helps you out; it is definitely WAY better than stock, for sure.
Ok sorry to sound misinformed but whats a super wipe... And a little more info, i rooted the sensation after the ota update to 2.3.4 and it was fine no issues then i rooted a month after when revolutionary had added my hboot and i followed the xda developers method on installing the clockwork mod recovery.. i sooner got rom manager since its eaiser for me to knw what rom i back up... But yeah it asked me to install a recovery and i did but its still on the 5.0.2.0 recovery image... Could that be a possibility?

....is this to fix the ICS camera in an ICS ROM? If so, no. A simple apk won't work to fix a system application. We would have had a fix a longggg time ago. If not, then search the market. Simple.

yeah.. i know it sucks, since you gotta wipe everything and redo it all over again... but IMO, it's worth it.
Get you can take a look at icecoldsandwich 6.0 the camera works but not the Front cam.
If u take look at how the developers of that Rom have done it then you might be able to port it for your Rom being used.
Btw for the flash junkies , you calways bakup your stable Rom and test all other roms and then restore everything back. Cloclworthmod and ext 4 recovery works great...
