I have recently rooted and installed Android Revolution on my wife's inspire.
However I just realized that i am unable to download from the market any apps. All I get is 2 secs of the downloading arrow before it disappears and i am prompted to
download again. I have tried clearing data in the market app and rebooting to no avail. Internet works as does browsing the market.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Trev
Edit, tried over wifi, tried an older version of the market app and still no luck.
Re-install the Rom, ensuring you clear the Delvik and wipe everything before install.
I'll give it a try.

Once done. if the issue continues;
1. Are you getting any error messages when you attempt to use market? When you turn the phone off and on? Anytime?
2. When was the last time it worked? Ever? Are you sure market sees your account and you are logged in?
3. Have you tried going to market on a PC and pushing an app to the phone? Does the app push when you do?

No error messages, power cycling the phone has not helped.
2. When was the last time it worked? Ever? Are you sure market sees your account and you are logged in?
since flashing I'm not sure if it has worked. I am logged in, and can see apps under my apps. Anything I have attempted to dl is listed there, but is not listed as installed.

Hve you checked your APN settings? Ensure that they are correct. Do A Search and you will find them.
Try and wipe the cache.

Flashing the rom was supposed to be the first thing you did.

i just flashed honeysense 2.1 today at first all my old apps did reload except for a select few so when they didnt i tried reloading them from marketplace and said try again. Ive spent all day reflashing the rom flashing other roms recovering on prior roms that were working flawlessly. ive ran searches and tried everything that i read. i am very new to the whole rooting and flashing but this is my 4th or 5th flash and everyone before i had absolutely no problems except for deciding which i liked more. any help is appreciated. thanks in advance!

Yeah, thats because it just comes right back shortly.
I was able to stop it. An hour later it has yet to start running. All stock here

I'm totally stock as well, and it came back pretty quickly. It may get re-activated if you use an app or such, but it definitely came back for me...
Oh well... after about 2 hours it came back... and now pops back on in seconds when I stop it
I guess no way to stop this with out root?

FACT: You can not disable it being on stock. To remove it you would need to root and flash a custom rom with it removed. Just letting you all know. Check out the skyrocketeer rom in dev section, its awesome
Also, for the people that are scared to root because of voiding warranty, there are two easy solutions.
1. Just unroot it, flash a stock rom or something.
2. Brick your phone by some means and if your rooted but it doesnt power on, they can not tell you rooted it. Just tell them you woke up and it was like that or something..

Hi guys. I am new to rooting, and finally took the plunge and rooted my LG Thrill. the main reason I rooted was to get hotspot access as well as freeze bloatware. I doubt I will ever use a custom rom.
With that said, after rooting with Megatron, I used Titanium backup to backup apps and to freeze a few.
My question is this: I have a short list at the bottom of my apps (8) that are striked out. The list is below.
1) What are these?
2) Can I remove them under REMOVE ORPHAN DATA without any ill effects?
3) Are these parts of frozen apps?
I haven't been able to find much info on these.

I truly appreciate all the help I have received from this forum...although I haven't posted much, I have read quite a bit and all of your posts have helped me immensely.
Thanks again!
The ones with the lines through them are just apps that have been backed up but are not on your phone anymore or are frozen

That's where u am confused. these were immediately there. Right after root, I installed Titanium Backup and those showed up strikes. I didn't make changes that I know of.

Not sure what you mean? This is the only phone I have rooted and used Titanium with.
I would like to use the function to "Remove Orphan Data", but don't want to mess anything up.
It shows them as No backup yet...but doesn't seem to be a way to back them up...probably because it thinks these were old apps.
Can suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated!

I don't see how they could be things that are not on the phone anymore as I did the backup, then froze a couple of apps and haven't removed anything.
You mention that these could be from frozen apps too...so if there was something that couldn't get backed up, then I froze it, these could be from those frozen programs?
So in practice, if I were to unfreeze my apps, I should see those strikes removed????
Yes

Can you give more details? such as what ROM/Kernel any mods you have installed? these will help narrow it down, I would start by checking for a Samsung maps app on your phone and disabling.

Running latest Synergy, stock kernel, updated to K1 radio and rpm, no other mods. if you look in all applications, it is listed. I haven't froze it yet since I'm not sure if it is a vital part of the sytem and I'm afraid of causing any bigger problems. I just keep seeing it listed in my OEM battery stats using anywhere between 2-10% of battery

I would try clearing the cache on it, I'm also on the lastest Synergy and it isn't using any battery for me when I go to all apps it does show up but has no data used or cache, I had a problem similar with google maps and clearing it's cache and rebooting fixed that.

Then I would say do a clean install see if that fixes it, been following the synergy thread and haven't heard anyone else having that issue.
Sorry I couldn't me more helpful
It pops up on all the JB TW leak builds. I've been wondering this for a bit too. When first installing all the JB leaks and watching battery to see what happens, it is always second in the list for about the first half day. Definately only for the first half day or so though, then I think it gets over-run by other stuff. I haven't had it since then. And all these installs were all clean too
I froze it.... no issues so far.
Running CleanROM Lite v4.

found a problem with freezing it (I think).. Just realized my geolocation for weather updates on both hd widgets and beautiful widgets doesn't work now.
EDIT: nvm, I enabled google location services and it seems fixed now

With titanium. This has work for me on International roms

Someone released VVM for ICS on Motorola RAZR in a .ZIP file that needs to be flashed with Safestrap... When I tried the APK by itself on my RAZR, that wasn't enough - there are other things that the VVM APK needs to function. I still have the .ZIP file somewhere but if you don't have ICS it probably won't work.
