I am enjoying the S3 so far with no huge complaints. Today I pulled out my original Droid Incredible to wipe and hand it down. The S3 replaced this only 2 weeks ago and I immediately noticed how beautiful the Incredible screen was compared to the S3. Yes the size is no comparison but the clarity and brightness of the original Incredible is so much better.

good lord, you're kidding, right? aside from the fact that the inc lcd is so far away from the actual digitizer compared to the s3, the pentile display on the inc makes it so easy to see pixels without even looking. i had mine powered up yesterday too, and compared to my rezound and my s3, it's got NOTHING on them.
The original DInc has a AMOLED and is beautiful. From the signatures of the replies I see a lot of Samsung owners so I know this is going nowhere but AMOLED beats all others.
If I can be called trolling then I can reply with what fanboys....a little kidding
you do know that the S3 is SUPER Amoled, right? with a higher PPI, higher resolution, etc?
and you can look at my sig and notice i own the Eris, Inc, View Tablet, and Rezound.
I guess it is like going to Best Buy and looking at the wall of TV and one person says I like that picture and the person next to you says no I like that one.....
I think the brightness seems less on the GS3, especially outside. Still like the GS3 over the new Inc 4G which could have been my other choice. HTC made a really small screen on the Inc 4G compared to the current market.
Wow I've owned both currently gs3 and I have to disagree COMPLETELY . sorry BT that's my opinion. Gs3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>dinc IMO way way to the next evolution of it don't matter. Again just my opinion

Had an Inc, most beautiful screen ever, hands down. There's just something about it that radiates brilliance.

VERIZON GALAXY S 3
With all of the Android devices I've owned, the best I've seen for clarity is the Rezound, no question. I've purposely looked for imperfections in the pixel layout and it's damn hard to see, only thing is the screen just isn't as vivid. I agree, the Charge also had a beautiful screen, but the one I had was plagued by the infamous "yellowing" on the right side of the screen that many GS2 owners experienced, that and the low RAM forced me to return it. The brightest screen I've used was on the Bionic, that thing was blinding on an all-white screen turned up all the way.
The GS3 screen is a little of everything. It's bright enough for me, very clear for a Pentile screen, vivid and clear colors, no imperfections... love it. So far this phone has been great, especially the data/GPS signal. That was surprising.
the S3 screen looks 100x better than the nexus, but i remember hearing it's the same tech..is that true? cuz my nexus looks awful lol it had the yellow tint (before i color modd'ed it) and there's terrible banding throughout...there's none on my S3

Hi my HTC hero has ran past its time so now im looking for a new phone i feel a dual core will be the most worth it due to as more and more phones that are dual core are released more apps will utilize them. I have decided not to go with an lg or htc because of previous experiences so now I'm looking at either the atrix or sgs2. Should I wait for the sgs2 or just get the atrix now...
Hold out, at least until the Atrix bootloader is unlocked, otherwise, the SGS2 would probably be the best bet.
Get the S2 better hardware and no moto-bleah !
go with samsung!
thinner than iphone, super lightweight, 8mp cam w/ flash, 2mp front facing, and overall design is just amazing. oh and dont forget the super amoled plus display! moto atrix is indeed nice, but i hate motoblur.
lg was a refrence to optimus 2x and htc refrence to sensation
Samsung for sure. Doubt the atrix bootloader will ever be unlocked.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
yea atrix sucks, I played with it at bell not impressed
Galaxy S II, no doubt.
The Atrix's main advantage was its incredible specs, but its specs is exceed by the S II. The only advantage the Atrix has is slightly higher resolution and a more powerful battery.
So overall, with better XDA support and higher specs, it seems like the S II is a no brainer.
I would choose Atrix for its shape, and higher resolution.Yet Galaxy S II has better hardware, depends on what you care.
Samsung all the way. Larger screen and Samsung quality. Also no Blur.
I have to go with other people here, SGS2.... and i'm putting my money where my mouth is by finaly replacing my HD2 with one.
Seriously, the Atrix laptop dock is a gimmick in my opinion. If you are going to carry that around you may as well carry your laptop!
Whichever you choose, I want to let it be known that I'm trolling for your abandoned heroes. I wish to run experiments on them.

Go with the Samsung Galaxy S II -- I am looking to replace my Samsung Captivate with this one too.
Had used a few Motorola phonse in the past and absolutely hate them -- bad quality phones.
Painful experiments!

You act like those are slight advantages. It's not a slightly bigger battery. It's like factorably bigger than the GS2's.
And the screen resolution is a huge deal. GS2 is using a big screen with a WVGA resolution. Not only is the resolution on the Atrix better, but it has a good screen size with much better pixel density. Aside from perhaps color saturation, everything will look better and crisper on the Atrix display.
HTC has the inspire 4G on AT&T and the display resolution/pixel density is outright terrible compared to the Atrix when held side by side. Not even close to being comparable and I doubt that resolution on even a sAMOLED II panel will be good enough to best it.
The bootloader is the biggest issue. None of the other hardware differences are that big of a deal that they should sway you from one phone or another, IMO.
Both TouchWiz and Blur are worse than Sense, but Moto almost always has much better widgets than Samsung and their Exchange Client and other Value-Adds are typically better. Samsung tends to have better Social Network integration in TouchWiz, though.
But if you want to MOD, then yes... The bootloader will be the issue and the GS2 may be the clear winner.
Also, maybe it's just me but Motorola devices typically function better as actual phones than Samsung devices...
Coming here, where ROMS and Apps are thought up and developed, and asking about a phone with a locked Bootloader(basically a huge "F**K YOU" to everyone here) is not going to get you an objective answer. May as well go and ask about EQ2 on the WoW Forums.

Atrix has a great screen. Captivate screen < Atrix screen
Battery life on my Atrix is AMAZING! Ear piece is the loudest and clearest i've ever had on a phone. It's fast!, Great phone, but so much hate for moto from people these days.

Anyway, picked up my SGS2 last night from Phones4U in Slough. Very impressive bit of technology but it does feel very cheap and the back battery cover is terrible! (it doesn't pop off but it does feel like it came from a pound shop)
The screen..... well....
My GF has an Omnia 7 running an AMOLED screen and to be honest, we put all the brightness up on both screens and then opened the BBC website and, if I'm honest, we couldn't see much diference. The Yellow was defo better on the SGS2 but then the purples were brighter on hers! I can only hope the "super" part of my screen applies to the battery usage as it doesn't appear any diferent..... not that thats a bad thing, the AMOLED on the O7 is excellent.
The phone is stunningly fast though, even when looking at the 3d menu's in SPB Shell 3D and spinning its world location globe in 3d.
I don't see any mention of a Super LCD screen in the specs on the HTC site, but on the evo 3d specs it says super LCD.
I really hope it's super lcd....regular tft just doesn't cut it even with the qhd resolution.
Ya I'm not really sure what type of display it is. I compared it to my HD2 and they look very similar, definitely not AMOLED. It seems like the colors are a bit brighter than the HD2 so it very well could be a Super LCD. But I do know the G2 is a Super LCD, but it doesn't look like the Sensations Display.
I don't know what to believe anymore. Attention SAMSUNG: STOP HOARDING YOUR GORGEOUS DISPLAYS AND SHARE WITH HTC - THANK YOU.

Hmmm...you're getting me worried lol.
If this screen doesn't look nice (one of the biggest things to me), I may have to send it back.
Well it's most definitely a super lcd screen (35 seconds in), so it should look good. Maybe the qHD resolution (where it makes everything look smaller) is throwing people off with the screen quality.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJQEYiD5HU4
Still a S-LCD.
If you want a screen that's just gonna pop like no other then you need a Galaxy S2. But sometimes screen colors is not everything.
Like - do you like it when your GPS works? ALL Galaxy S series phones = FAIL!
Do you want a phone made in fisher price plastic? ALL Galaxy S series phones = WIN!
Do you want your phone updated to the newest version of Android quickly? ALL Galaxy S series phones = FAIL!
Its not all about screen color quality. To me, I consider more important things like build quality and actaully fast 4G. And the Sensation with Tmobile wins in both categories.

Wow, people are seriously picking out all the details. Next thing you know someone is going to complain about the curvature of the screen, or how it's not really all aluminum. This phone simply can't give you all the great things that G2X or Samsung has to offer, but it does give you a perfectly working device that is probably better than your previous phone. It is a $500 device, but nothing is perfect. If you want something better than sensation then get the samsung, easy as that. I must warn you though something will come with better specs when the samsung device comes out......Maybe A "Super-duper Extravaganza Amoled Infinity X Infinity Super LED 3D Optic Retina Killer Flamingo-1Carat Diamond Glass Screen" screen. Now that would be something.
It looks great in person. I saw it yesterday side by side with my vibrant, my droid x, and a g2x that was on display and it looked better than my droidx, almost as good as the g2x, but couldn' keep up with the SAMOLED. It's a nice looking screen and quite frankly one of the nicest phones i've ever had my hands on. I'm definitely buying it.

The Behold was a serious **** up but my Vibrant got Froyo long before my wifes HTC Mytouch 3G Slide and her slide released 2 months before my Vibrant. It depends on where you live and what carrier your on. Then again, I really don't care about updates. If I did, I wouldn't be HERE!

I love my Charge, but the dev scene is weak. It *may* get better in the near future, but there's no reason to hope for it if you have an upgrade. The Galaxy Nexus has a very strong dev scene already, and it has better hardware overall. It's not better in every conceivable way, but it's almost unquestionably better when everything is taken as a whole.
Get the Nexus if you can swing it. This phone, although good, is too old to get at this point. You will hate its guts two years right now when all phones are running circles around it.

In my opinion, it depends on what you want and need. Although I'd like my phone to play Crysis @ 120fps, I don't need it to. Realistically though, I find that my Charge does everything I want pretty well. I overclock some to help it play 480p flash content in the browser smoothly.
Personally, the lack of the Wolfson DAC in the Nexus is a deal-breaker (Although at this point, since I already have a Charge, I wouldn't mind getting a Nexus in addition to my Charge, but I wouldn't trade the Charge for a Nexus). Also, I can't really stand pentile displays in any shape or form, but that's just me. I'd take lower resolution with RGB stripe any day.
I'm holding my hopes up high with the Galaxy S 3, which should have SAMOLED+ HD. Time will tell.
Three words: get the Nexus.
Absolutely do not get the Charge. This is simply not a new phone anymore.
I concur with the Nexus suggestions. Such an awesome phone, you can also get one from Amazon (whenever they get them back in stock) for much cheaper than Verizon.
The nexus is supposed to have a super amoled screen. Comparing the screen resolution of the charge and nexus. The charges screen resolution and colors are much richer and vibrant. Does the nexus really have a pentile display? When I had my bionic...I hated it. :what:

The Nexus is PenTile, though it is higher resolution. It's HD Super AMOLED. The lack of a "Plus" in the name means PenTile. The higher resolution non-PenTile will be called HD Super AMOLED Plus. For the record, the "Super" means that the touchscreen is integrated into the screen rather than being an overlay.

I can't seem to not notice the pentile. Maybe its just me, but it tends to drive me crazy, even the Nexus. Others probably are fine with it.
Go into the Verizon store and play with it. I personally prefer the Charge screen.

just wanted to share my experience i had today.
got a call from my local dealership that the One X had arrived, as i had shown huge interest in it.. as my previous phone got molested by my car..
went to take a look on the sexy thing. and the screen blew me away, but got a little disappointed when actually holding the phone, didn't get a "premium" feel that a 800$ phone should have. sure, it has a very practical poly carbonate shell casing etc..
but i had made up my mind anyway and was going to close the deal and walk away with the X, then the salesman opened up a drawer and put the One S in my hands.. it was not put up on display as they just arrived that hour.
well, what can i say?.. it really appealed to me, the thickness, the weight, the sturdiness, the cold matte surface.. it just felt so good that i bought it without even seeing it being turned on.. silly? i guess.. but we hit it off from the first second..
was worried about the screen as i just had a Razr, and was not so fond of the pentile screen, but this is something different.. better calibrated? who knows, it looks very nice..
i think last time i had this feeling for a phone out of the box was my first android, a htc hero.. and it have been about 8-10 android phones (even a ipone, brrrr.. that lasted 3 days i think) in between that.
hoping the community and developers will remember this phone also, when the smoke from the One X has settled.
well thats my two cents for today, good night from Norway...
What country has introuced HTC one X
or if USA which network has got it and how to get it
Nice. What would you say is better about the screen vs the Razr? Like is it less pixelated, the colors more accurate etc?

I had just about made my mind up to go for a One S. I walked into an O2 shop in Germany today and they had a live One X display model, as well as dummy versions of both the One X and S. It was actually the One X that appealed more when I compared [the dummy versions] side-by-side due to the larger display size.
I guess I will have to wait until I can find a genuine One S on display to make my mind up...
Same happened to us my wife was all excited about the One X until she held it so she opted for the One S more user friendly

I guess I'll have to give it some time, but it feels too big and the battery really sucks.
Do you know anything about how the camera, battery and sound quality (from 3.5mm) is on the One S compared to the X?
Camera is the same, battery life will be better because of less cores and smaller screen, and sound quality I can't imagine is any different

Battery life on the One X should be a lot better with this new version
Nevertheless, battery life on the One S will always be better (except for standby) due to the 28nm architecture and the lower resolution screen.

Engadget says that there is a difference in camera performance, altough hardware is exactly the same.
It seems that the One X performs a bit better as the software is more optimized.

Rousseauxy: couldnt tell, cause we had a cloudy day today. but as far as daylight it is no problem at all.. very bright and high contrast as Amoled is known for.
Ascot17; cant argue with you there, the One X screen is better.. but the feel of the phones compared next to each other left me no doubt.. the one X feels cheap compared to the S. and also the 4.3" screen is easier to handle grip-wise.. but specs on the X are awesome. but then again, the dual core Kraits are hardcore..
with the 28nm Krait cores battery life should be much better than the X. only had one charge on the phone so hard to say. but lasted to the day without any problem. been alot of fiddling to say the least!
Unclespoon; the camera is awesome. this is the best i have ever seen on a phone. even my wife's panasonic Lumix camera is struggling to keep up to this. HTC have been amazing at the camera front. if the camera is better on the X, i cant say since i didn't get to try it much. but i cant believe it is better since both phones runs the same hardware on the cameras..
Can't Wait
I just bought the One S today and it's charging right now so I've not used it yet. I read the reviews of the X and the S but went for the S due to the better battery life and the speed. The X may have more cores and a bigger screen but the S is meant to be faster and the screen is big enough for me

I can completely share this experience. Went to look for both devices, honestly more eager for the X.. but having both of them directly in front of me I lost interest in the X completely and only focused on the S.. the difference in quality/haptic is huge.. sure, the display of the X is a blast.. but to cite my girlfriend who was standing right next to me in this situation (translated):

Just out of curiosity, talking small hands. Would any of you who have owned the device happen to have as small hands as I? I have gloves size 10 and 9(thight fit) and wonder if the S will be comfortable used one-handed. I've already ruled out the X on specs alone. No way my hands fit that 4.7" screen.
I'm starting a new thread because all the others I saw on this topic were 2 years old and that is a lifetime in technology world.
I accidentally forgot to take my phone out of my pocket when I went swimming. Worse it was a salt-water pool. So all the metal is corroded, no saving it. I had a Samsung Vibrant. But now looking for perhaps an upgrade.
What are some of the best models to buy? I'm not hugely into changing roms, I like to figure out one I like and stick with it. Also, I have T-mobile service.
So all I know on phone models are Samsung Galaxy S; SII, and SIII. Give me a good one please!
The new line of HTC phones, the One s and One X are pretty cool. Nice and light with amazing screens. The new HTC UI is also lovely.
the Samsung Galaxy S3 is also excellent. Quite similar in terms of weight and size to the HTC phones mentioned.
These are probably the best Android phones on the market at the moment. Theres also the iPhone 4S which is a great phone too, but with smaller screen size than most new Android devices.
Hope this helps
Sony has a flagship(high-end) phone called Xperia S. Hope that contributes to your choices.
Also, I have a tip for you, You should read online reviews on the phones that you are interested in, and, also read the specs carefully,You wont wanna end up with a 600MHz processor or a 2.x" screen, will you?
Best phone for me
I think the new Samsung Galaxy S III is the best phone yet because of its new features. Simply designed for human... hehe... Take a look at this website to know more: http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxys3/
jelly bean
for me if i want to buy a new phone right now i'll buy galaxy nexus. because it gets the most up-to-date android right now that is jelly bean(4.1).
The UI is not so different from the ics but many updates in the software such project butter and google now. you can google it and you'll be suprise.
The project butter make it buttery smooth, it can even match up with quad-core galaxy s3
So for me.Nexus is the one
Buy Galaxy SII and install S3 touchwizz.
If wifi calling were essential, the s2 or s3. Between those two, Itll be down to your budget.
If Wi-Fi calling is less of an importance to you, I'd say +1 on the galaxy nexus all the way.

Please elaborate. Why the SII when the SIII is available?
Which brings me to my next question. Does anyone have both an SGSIII and an HTC One X? I'd really like some feedback for those two.
I'm so impressed with the quality materials and the feel of the One X in hand. While I only tried it in the AT&T store, I really like the build quality, the solid feel, and the UI didn't look too bad either. But I must admit, I'm really a big fan of SWYPE, as offered on the Samsung phones.
S3

I would say the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be the best, but as far as I know it have still some software bugs which need to be improved. If you dont want to pay too much money for a phone, you can choose the Samsung Galaxy S2. I have this one and i am happy with it. it is fast enough for these things I do (use internet, watch some movies while in a bus or subway, listen to musik, learning and play sometimes a game).
The S3 have more features and is faster and so on, but its your choice.
Depend on money, on things you want to do with it and maybe a bit how much you want to show that you have the best
spent a weekend with 2 samsung s3's.on the monday bought the onex international.phone is better built, sense is very nice, the s3 is a verygood phone but for me the onex just feels better in so many little ways.the screen is a joy, the phone fits the hand, zero faults, happy bunny me

Laggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg thats what the s3 lacks the one x has plenty
I have a One X and just picked up an S3 for my buddy and every time I play with an S3, I like it less and less. From the horribly plastic build, to its ugly design, to the crappy bluish pentile screen. As far as I'm concerned the only benefits it provides over the One X are the SD slot and extra RAM. The One X is superior in every other regard.

I'm speaking specifically of the S4 version of the One X which does not have any of the problems that the Tegra version has. In no way does the S3 rape the S4 One X in terms of performance or battery. They have the same SOC so they are completely comperable. Battery life in the S4 One X is ridiculous. I can get 2 days and over 6 hours screen on time. That's unheard of with android.
Sure the S3 is polycarbonate but it FEELS like a cheap plastic POS. And blue or white? Where's the black? They look like shiny plastic toys and they are fingerprint magnets. The One X feels solid and looks soo much nicer. I really think the build on the S3 belies the actual power of the phone. And sorry man, I'm glad you like the SAMOLED screen but it just can't touch the SLCD2 of the One X. Every reviewer on the internet thinks that the One X's screen is superior because well, it is. The S3's screen is over saturated, not bright at all, doesn't have the viewing angles that the One X has and the pentile is terribly noticeable. If it was a SAMOLED + it would be a different story but it's not. Pentile is a hideous technology and really destroys what would be a high quality screen. Also, at least on the blue model, the glass is tinted blue so the SCREEN is tinted blue. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Even the deepest black on the S3 has a noticeably blue tint to it. I saw it, the rep at the AT&T store saw it, and my buddy who owns one sees it and hates it. The only reason he got the S3 over the One X was because he needed the SD slot.
The S3 is a great device, no doubt, but when you take everything into acount, I really feel the S4 One X is a much better phone. I'm glad you like your S3, but to me it's akin to a family having a retarded child. They may love it to death, but it doesn't change the fact that it's retarded.

Coming from a Mytouch 3G, then Mytouch 4g, I had enjoyed the HTC experience, then I switched to the Samsung Galaxy S2, it completely blew my mind from the HTC line! now, I know the newer HTC devices have come back and are amazing phones, however, I now have the Galaxy S3 and still couldn't be happier, it is an amazing device and I am happy I made the choice to switch over from HTC to Samsung.
I have done a full review which you can check out on my blog (linked in acct info)
hope this helps
Samsung Galaxy S3 .... If you like big phones.. :silly:
I know how you feel. Any way if your getting a new phone you should get the galaxy s3. But if you want a galaxy s type phone then you should get the galaxy ace 2. It has an 800mhz prosesor dual core so it works like a 1 ghz prosesor but since the second core can be turned off when not needed the battery life on the galaxy ace 2 is increased greatly.
But by all means if you want a 4 core phone full of pow then you should get the galaxy 3. It has s voice. Also has the eye detection. So if you look away from the screen it will turn off. The s3 has a memory card slot. Lots of four core phones don't have that. It will be able to charge wirelessly in a couple of months.
So it really does come down to if you want to spend a hefty amount on a phone that you will probably keep for a few years.
Good luck on your new phone hunt. Hope I helped
PS sorry for the spelling. Btw I'm 13
