Thank you !
Do you know whats the differences between the both firmwares in your post are ?
My N9770 will not fall into Deep Sleep. It just clock the CPU down to 250mhz, but its still on and drains the battery within 12 hours.
I tried several ROMs i've found but all the same. Maybe your stock firmware solves the problem.

i have no idea but i have tried to install the stock firmware i got today but it wont happen, and flashed with the other firmware i got from kylie and its not good.
if you have any working roms i would seriously appreciate a link to some roms as my colours are washed out with the kylie firmware and stock need to be done in recovery but can not do it as wont have saying not signed?so i need a little help
ref battery you need to root and then set cpu to ondemand i use no frills cpu from play to do this

managed to sort out colour issue flashed with mdt and changed the grapics driver so the colour is good now but i have the problem that i started with which created all this hassle and that is the cameras...How do i swap from the front to back camera???
i dont have the little icon to change cameras.

I tried out this Taiwan101 ROM, this one from a russian forum (25/07?) and this one from a chinese forum (newer Taiwan?).
I also had the issue with these strange colors, its the wrong display driver. I fixed it with SP_MDT by selecting RX_50NT_401B as display driver. It seems that these ROMs had all RX_50NT_365A as default which end up in wrong colors.
With the 25/07 Firmware i also killed my cameras, should also be fixable with the correct drivers.
This 'not signed' error appears also with custom recovery ?

yep i can not get the back camera to work/switch, going to try your later rom is it rooted?
How do i install these roms?the later newer Taiwan as i am not used to dual core,do you copy zip to sd card (internal) and go to recovery and update via sd card?
and how would you change the display driver if not flashing via tools
Did you ever have the cameras working as they should?
100 questions.......
hope we can get there in the end

Yes exactly, you had to copy the file to the sd card and flash it via recovery. But you had to install a custom recovery first (i flashed only the recovery. Flashing also the boot.img and the preloader out of this zip ended with a not booting phone.

I flashed the driver with tools. Not the hole ROM, just the uboot.bin. It seems that sp_mdt saves the driver in uboot when you close the programm. I did so and flashed the uboot with the 'normal' flashtool.

Both cameras survived every change of firmware until i flashed the 25/7 ROM.
It seems that there are several hardware version. With the Taiwan101 firmwares the external sd card will not be recognized. I flashed the boot.img from the 13/07 firmware and the sd card came back. SD card is also out of function with your stock rom.
I still had the problem with phone not going into deep sleep. Also NoFrills couldn't change that. Maybe i've not found the right ROM for my hardware yet. I got it from CECT.

Hi i have flashed with the firmware from kylie and changed the display driver whilst flashing with mdt..display is good
I do not have back camera i see no way to switch to back but the front works fine and i have no idea as when i flashed with default driver it was the same no back camera
I do have external SD no problem with 32gb
I had no problems with imei
i need a recovery to flash
found these

but no help to me
The root tutorial posted here does not work with new firmware,so i copied recovery image from custom recovery (brunos)and replaced recovery in new firmware and flashed using mdt with the driver change for graphics..it worked and installed custom recovery and i then proceeded to root with the cwm-su zip in recovery and it worked.
but still no back camera

Cameras and display are working now with these drivers selected in sp_mdt :
mt9p017_raw hi704_yuv RX_50NT_401B
Which display driver have you choosen ? The same ?

i am uploading the modified firmware with these settings in the uboot and with the custom recovery in so can be straight flashed in one go.

You have tested all possible drivers ? Did the second camera work befor flashing ?
I changed the driver and bootet into system test (power+vol. down) to see if the cams are back or not. Its a bit faster than waiting for android to boot completely.

Hi used your firmware link outcome the same no camera so i flashed taiwans rom still no back camera, used uboot from n8000 has the correct drivers for cameras but not display...uboot from i9220 has wrong drivers as has the uboot from note.
used the firmware sent to me by supplier renamed it update zip and installed over taiwans rom and still no back camera.
was getting error "can not connect to camera" several times through out the process, have called it a day and am returning device..

Repartition N9770
Has anyone come out with the 2.5g repartition yet??

Try clearing your cache and removing your battery. Then, install any free basic new Jellybean cam app from the market. See if that re-installs your camera.

Hi and thanks for your suggestion i had already tried that with 3-4 different apps, all stated they could not connect to camera, for me it is a hardware fault as i have done everything humanly possible to resolve.i have now returned device and await a new one.
having talked with china supplier the n9770 has a lot of problems and was released to market to early..most of the models sent out have been recalled due to major faults and they said it wont be until middle of September before the chipset mt6577 is back, whether there is any truth in that i do not know..but they had no replacement for me and have already issued a full refund and postage costs on emailing proof of postage so they seem honest....ummm

[ROM] Leaked early ICS for Lenovo Ideapad A1

There's been some discussion recently of the leaked ICS ROM for the Lenovo A1, which is a little difficult to install, because Clockworkmod won't flash it due to failed assertions. I've modified it so that it can be flashed through CWM.
Be warned that it will overwrite U-Boot, the kernel, and the RAMdisk (these are not usually backed up by CWM 5.0.2.7). If you've installed it, and you want to go back to your old backup (very likely as you'll soon get tired of nothing working properly), use the following steps:
1. Boot into recovery
2. Restore your backup using the normal CWM functionality
3. Install ub-fastboot.zip from this post.
4. Reboot into fastboot mode and restore the correct kernel and ramdisk for your ROM with:
Code:
fastboot flash inand-kernel <kernel>
fastboot flash inand-ramdisk <ramdisk>
5. Reboot.
If you don't know what the correct kernel/ramdisk is for your ROM then I'd advise you not to try using this ROM.
DISCLAIMER
There is no guarantee of anything going right if you install this ROM. I'll try and help with problems (and I'm sure other people will too) but if things get messed up it'll be your fault. Don't take the risk without understanding it and being comfortable with it.
Download: here.
So now you've flashed ICS to your A1, but you can't use it. Duh. Everything is broken right now.
For those scared of using ADB commands during a restore to CM7/Stock gingerbread... Here's the stock RAMDISKS, and Kernel as CWM .Zips... [Links taken from the other A1 threads, stock kernel .zip by yours truly. ;-) ] Flash ONLY the ones you need before you flash your Stock rom/CM7 rom/nandroid restore. In this order.
ROW 2375 / ROW 2525 builds ONLY RAMDISK
(1.){^^vv If you don't know which you're supposed to have, DO RESEARCH FIRST
ROW 2643 build only RAMDISK
(2.)Stock Kernel
(3.) Then Stock ROM/CM7 ROM (your choice) (skip step 2 if flashing a 4/28 or later CM7 build it includes a kernel.)
(4.)Fastboot bootloader mod

Now if only we could get Wifi and USB working... That would be a decent start...
Weird part is, on the leaked one, the device name under settings is "Zoom2"
(haven't flashed this one yet, but I assume it's the same)
Makes me wonder if this is infact the real deal... or at least an attempt by a third party? (see post below)
Though it's nice to see it being possible.

It says "Zoom2" - that's an OMAP3 development kit that the hardware in the A1 is very similar to - they'll have started with the device-specific files for the Zoom2, and haven't bothered to change them yet. See http://www.omapworld.com/zoom.html

It's not worth trying to fix with this ROM. It'd be better to work on a proper build of ICS instead of wasting time augmenting this early build.
Anyone trying this rom - can you take a look if /proc/config.gz exist and if so - make an upload. I'm just curious, but don't want to waste my time ....
Dear gmarkall, i flashed from CWM and it says installation aborted.. ! now i can't boot up to normal stock ROM ..

If you can still boot into recovery, flash an OTA zip file.
If you can't, then follow these instructions.

I'm not running the ROM right now, but I tried extract-ikconfig on the kernel and it didn't find a config - I don't know how reliable that tool is though, since I've never used it before.
An update for the ICS ROM was posted in a German forum. Wifi is said to be working now. You can download it here. To use it, you need to flash the original ICS firmware (A107_.rar) and then install the update.zip with the stock recovery from an external sd card.
I've tested the update on my device. Wifi and sound output are working now. The build props show a Lenovo device now (ro.build.fingerprint=Lenovo/IdeaTab_A1107/A1107:4.0.4/MR1/eng.user.20120503.193509:eng/test-keys). The main issue seems to be that the Google Apps are not working (including Play).
EDIT: The problem with Google Play seems to be caused by the file permissions of drmserver. After this, I can download apps from Play Store (but only until rebooting):
Code:
adb remount
chmod 777 /system/bin/drmserver
./system/bin/drmserver&
Confirmed wifi works and sound works fine.
Google store not so much but looks to be a quick fix.
Gps seems to be working but haven't had time to test.
Mounting sd card and usb mounting are messed up.
Also for anyone considering this 4.03 they should know its based on a phones os and not a tablet os.
I can't update on 2GB A1 - there is an error in the middle of process.
The first version was running ok.
Pls!
Dear gmarkall,
I redownloaded and flashed again and now it's running OK.
Now from the above posts, i see that an update that fixes wifi and sound 's available to download again here.https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=56E49CF4B3C46641&id=56E49CF4B3C46641!106&action=Download
So pls tell me what i've to do again. Can i flash this update from CWM ?
Thanks !
Plaease help! Not work on IdeaPad A1 2GB
CWM log:
size:3833856assert failed: run_program("/tmp/fuse:, "mbr", "/tmp/mbr2GB.img")
E;Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted
Can you help me?
This Update doesn't work with cwm and I wouldn't recommend to anyone flashing it. It screwed up my whole file system including rescue partition and took me several hours to get rid of it. On top, it doesn't contain config.gz.
If you are using CWM, you can go back to stock recovery in just a few minutes. It is described here. This shouldn't be an issue?
Clearly this is not a actually preview from lenovo but rather a home-brew that does a decent job of getting many things working.
The first preview had a tablet based 4.03 and this supposed update has a phone 4.03 layout.
Still not bad just not from lenovo.

I started to do some work on that tabled, but stuck with kernel touchscreen configuration. See here.
Touch chip is Goodix GT911, screen size is 800x1280 px. I managed to get touch working but partialls. First aprox 1.2 inches of top of screen are not responsive to to touches. After that 1.5" touch works normally.
I'm pretty sure I'm sending wrong configuration data array to chip and thats why its not working as it should, but have no time at the moment to toy with it. If anyone experienced with Goodix chips, pm me with ideas...

Update: I started to toy with stock kernel and cm10.2 (my first CM ever, was working with AOSP based SoC manufacturers sources). Problem is that device uses separate partition for internal sdcard, so have to disable emulated storage.
Things done:
- recovery
- android is built against precompiled stock kernel
Status:
- after bootanim and starting apps screen android reboots and starts back with bootanim. This was one day tryout, will debug it later today. Thanx to TeamNostalgia's preparation for cm10.2 on Amlogic MX. I used their framework and device stuff, upgraded with latest amlogic version of sources. Because of SLA I have with Amlogic, I cannot put it online.

It is. I'm not CM guy really, but its possible. If anyone interested, TeamNostalgia's github does have decent tree for Amlogic MXS tablets. I did some CM10.2 work for that tablet, but ended up with bootloop and reboot eventually. Didn't had time do debug it.

I fixed U-Boot (wrote my own to support device tree kernel - 3.10.10) and fixed touch screen. I did not upload this fw, started to work yesterday on amlogic's 4.4 sources (they support both mx and m8 chipsets) (no, I cant share, I have SLA with them), I have boot, only left few things to test and then I'll upload 4.4.2.

I'm really sorry for inconveniences. With 1.0.05 files on sdcard, delete factory_update_param.aml file and boot into recovery (as if you want to install firmware). From menu using vol +/- and power for select choose factory reset (data partition is not formatted using old partition layout, thats why you have 0kb). After that you also can reflash firmware if you want (just select zip from sdcard).

My daughter get this tablet from her grandfather on 03.05.2014 ( I guess she is lucky about that date ), and it was so slow and ugly and everything.
I installed your bety rom and everything is perfect. BUt after first reboot i get setup wizard again, but the first time after Install I only get FC ( just like I should ) but it didnt throw me back to setup wizard again.
Can I expect wizard setup every time I reboot or?
And Yes, thank you a lot for this awesome and fast work. The tablet is now so much more usable.

Well I also have prestigio tablet pmp5670C_BK_DUO and within a week it got bricked somehow. I guess that broken charging pin on cable had something to do with it - probably did a short circuit or something and boot loader got corrupt. Tabled was responding to connection of new charging cable, but only backlight turned on. There was no logo or anything.
I browsed several pages and nothing worked. I tried with official upgrade from SD card but it didn't work. It started to upgrade, android-upgrade logo came up, but after reboot nothing happened. Damaged bootloader was unable to start the tablet.
After a day or so I finally found a way how to unbrick it! Yeah.... So in attached file there is the detailed procedure, which I found on some Russian page.
Good luck!

I owned 3 OnePlus (1 white and 2 blacks). The last purchased was the sandstone version, and i bought it 2 days ago. My Question is simple: the first 2 OPO are running without any problems (sensor, touch, disply). But the third one (the newer one) from the start the proximity sensor doesnt work, the auto brightness is very strange (lowering and rising the brightness its not smooth, it´s like it´s choking). After many roms, i´ve succed in find a fix for the proximity sensor, but i have to flash it everytime i install a rom. I do not understand, what is so different with this model?
BTW: when i opened for the first time, it had version of 4.4.4, that i didnt saw it before 11.0-XNPH28R! And with that rom i had to manually upgrade to cm12, because the update system was telling me that is up to date.

Sounds like a firmware issue to me. When you say you upgraded to CM12 do you mean the nightlies or the stock ROM (Cyanogen OS 12)? And what method did you use to upgrade? By flashing the stock images with fastboot? Or flashing a ROM zip with recovery?

I´ve updated to Cyanogen OS 12 YNG1TASI3 using TWRP, but i´ve flashed the firmware with fastboot (this after i say that i have problems). But it´s the same. The only fix for proximity that work is the one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...es-mmwolverines-opo-mods-tips-tricks-t3027926
BTW: i´ve flashed EUPHORIA Rom, and the same, the problems persist (and i think that on this rom, the autobrightness issues is bigger, the brightness changing choking is more visible).

I think your best bet is to wipe your slate clean and start fresh. Go to my guide thread and use the instructions in section 8 to flash the stock images to your device with fastboot (don't worry about flashing the userdata.img as it'll only wipe your internal storage which is unnecessary, and don't worry about flashing the recovery.img as you'll need TWRP again anyway). You can grab the latest stock images from here. Once you've flashed the stock images flash whatever ROM you want and you should have no more issues (hopefully).

[Q] MTK rom, installation aborted

The Afterlife6.0 was said to be compatible with my Nitro 401D which has the aame MTK no.
However, whenever I try to flash it (using cwm) it says installation aborted. It doesnt say any status about it eg Status 6 or Status 7 but i still used the fix for one which is trying to change the name in the updater script to fit the name of my phone but when I looked, it doesnt have that particular line for checking the name. And the other one was changing the directory of the lines in it but I didnt want to change it because i wasnt so sure about the directories myself.
Ive tried downloading from another source, still didnt work. Now Im wondering maybe its my phone so Ive been considering using SP flash to force it in(? Im still not quite sure what it does tho) and also change my custom recovery (currently cwm) to twrp or ctr. Maybe my phone cant flash anything at all so ive been also considering trying to flash a small file or like a test rom, are there any of those?
What should I do next? Im scared of forcing it in causr it says that if the phone has the wrong preloader my phone can never be recovered..

Do you install CWM successfully? Did you try another custom rom?

From everything I have done on trying to root this phone, I guess MTKdroid tools installed CWM in the process. It is rooted now tho, checked with rootchecker basic. I havent tried any other roms since Afterlife 6.0 is the only one i found.
UPDATE:
Apparently, the CWM wasn't properly installed, my bad :crying:
I tried to install another ROM like Lollifox (will try MIUI later, still downloading) but I don't think I ported it successfully tho because it just showed installation aborted, no Status whatsoever.
I have now flashed Afterlife6.0. However, its now stuck at boot but a while ago it was on boot loop but after wiping caches and doing a hard reset, its now on boot forever. By boot I mean it just shows the Sony logo (supposedly the Arc Mobile logo before I flashed the rom) then the logo disappears and then its just a black screen (a black screen as in its still turned on and not a black screen as you would see when a phone is off).
I'll try to flash my stock rom and root it again so that I could flash other roms for now while waiting for your reply.
try stock rom on the official site. than try to update cwm and try rooting again.
I already fixed it by flashing the stock tho so no worries I guess.
I successfully ported Lollifox but I encountered a problem where I couldn't save anything because my phone doesn't recognize my SD card. It can be seen in the settings/storage though but what the rom can't do is recognize that the "SD card" is internal not external. Its sort of hard to explain, I have 2 storages: Internal memory and Phone storage. The internal memory is the default place where apps go while the Phone storage acts like the SD card of this phone but its internal as well ( at least that's how it acts on the stock ROM). I tried unmounting it (apparently I have that option on Lollifox but its internal so I don't know how that's possible) and remounting it but no dice. Also, since it doesn't recognize the SD card, it kind of explains why there's no USB mass storage option when I connect it.
I tried to port the MIUI and did the 2 ways of porting it told in the site where the rom came from but whenever I flash it, it boots up and gets stuck at the logo of MIUI.
I'm leaning away from Afterlife 6.0 now cause I can't really see it would be a better ROM (and you got to give it that the themes of MIUI and Lollifox are pretty AF) but I think its more suitable (still can't flash it tho) . Can anyone give thoughts on the best rom for this or a fix for these problems?

sometimes you need to format the phone memory at the beginning for one time after you install new ROM. Try that and restart the phone. One time i did this like this problem. Sorry for my english.

Solved
I think I already solved my own problem though. I just had to do a few tweaks and do a little bit of trial and error myself. However, I still couldn't flash Afterlife (also tried porting it myself and Im suppose to do a logcat or something but I lack free time) but I still have a rom flashed don't worry. Kind of feel sorry it feels like a waste of a thread.
Now Im asking for this thread to be closed(or atleast I think thats how it works cause I dont seem to have that option myself)
Thank you

Maybe IMEI blocked if stolen or contract not paid off, is it 2nd hand?
Did you try using different USB cables and USB ports?
The phone may have to be force flashed using different hardware such as an octopusbox.

is there any other solution other than the box ??
in older versions of android we had the possibility to put the radio.img and other simpler solutions .
Usually, flashing a complete stock ROM with Odin will flash everything together including the bootloader, baseband/modem, recovery, and system.
Post the Odin log as there may be something in there that can help resolve the issue.

yes it is , but am pretty sure its not stolen , bought from mobile store was almost new when i got it .
i just managed to fix my phone (in phone store lab , probably they used the box).
last time i rooted the phone and then installed "noutfan " custom rom there was no problem with IMEI , signal or software issues , exept for many bugs in firmware and gear VR made the firmware collapse .
after this i installed superstock rom (without flashing bootloader or modem) i installed kernel and everything which was in the aroma installer ( its not the first time that i flash this rom . worked fine before last time) after installation last timei lost the imei and phone signal (before fixing the phone) .
i dont know what went wrong this time ,usually i install custom roms with no problem . now i have 7.0 stock rom (after fixing the phone) and i want to install custom rom but afraid of facing the same ptoblem .
Any ideas ?? what have i done wrong when i have installed superstock last time?? why i lost imei ?? how to avoid this problem when rooting and installing the custom rom ???
