Has anyone had issues playing usb audio? I play through a Hifiman HM-101 and if I try to go to another album or something like that it starts skipping. I have to unplug the usb and plug it back it to fix it. Just hitting next song does not seem to have this issue. Have tried the stock music player and poweramp. Also is there a way to use usb audio for hands free calling?

What the hell is going on, i have stereo bluetooths that only sometimes work, the audio just will not route to them all the time, under the check marks it never keeps media checked?
What music player app are you using? I've found that I have to connect the stereo bluetooth headset first before opening the app (I'm using Cubed '3') for it to play through the headset consistently. If I have the app open already, I sometimes have to exit the app through a task manager first. Then connect the headset and open the app. Hope that helps.
im not using any programs just the built in music player and video player
I got the stock music player to work only after I figured out how to get my head unit to 'Forget' my other phone. It was more an issue with the hardware I was trying to stream to. What are you streaming to, and what area are looking in to see these checkmarks? I don't see anything like that in the bluetooth settings...
my car stereo sees the tablet as a device, but doesnt play the music through it...i have 2 icons on the stereo..one for phone, and one for music...the phone icon lights up, but no music icon and no music through it....any ideas? Seems strange that the stereo sees the tablet as a phone......running honeycomb rom.
I also have a usb headset...can i plug it in to the tablet?, or do i have to get a converter to gofrom usb to a jack?....Thanks all

Some possibilities...
The phone profile for bluetooth (mono) is different from the music player profile for bluetooth (stereo). It is possible that
the music (A2DP) profile is not working for your rom. Look for A2DP bluetooth support wherever you got the rom from.
You could check if your rom can talk to a bluetooth A2DP (stereo) headphone/headset. Also make sure your car stereo supports A2DP too (it probably does).
Alternatively you could play music using the mono profile
using something like Super BT Mono app which has a free trial.
If you listen to audiobooks/podcasts this might be ok. I know
this works for Froyo, not sure for honeycomb.

I doubt if this will work. Probably needs a driver for the Android
which does not exist.

I've been having an issue with the media audio streaming to Bluetooth on the Blaze, which I did not have on my previous phone (Optimus). I pair with a Soundfly View in my car, and use the app BeyondPod to listed to podcasts. On a "fresh" Blaze, the audio will begin to play/stream for a split second, and then stop (though the podcast will continue to "play" or advance on the phone). I can occasionally get it to do it again by clicking play, but never for more than that split second.
Through experimenting, I noticed that phone audio seems to be fine, as well as audio on the Music player. What I've found, consistently, when this happens, if I start the Music player, start playing some audio then pause it, then go back to BeyondPod, it streams fine. At least for a time, though I've yet to figure out exactly what "resets" this workaround. But when I'm unable to play, I have to redo this Music player trick to play the podcasts.
Any clue what is going on here, and any permanent fix?
Bluetooth streaming... I have been doing this for a few years using a slightly different method that I'll share here in hopes it might help. I know this is kinda unrelated to your app, but this might be a fix.
Connect any bluetooth headset (I use my PS3 headset)
Download an app called BTmono (its free and a very simple interface, on/off)
Press the on button
Now any sound you would of heard out of your phone speaker you hear on your headset. This lets you listen to music, audio books, videos, or whatever on your headset. When you are tired of it, make sure to press the off button on BTmono to go back to normal. Hopefully this will help or at least provide a temp fix for now. My boss just thinks I like to wear mine all the time, he has no clue I am jamming dubstep and listening to audio books all night
Well, even should that work, it's really the same solution...using another app to force the streaming which should be happening automatically if you're connected with the right BT profile.
I did forget to mention that I do use A2DP volume, which launches an app (BeyondPod) and adjusts the volume when BT is connected. I also used it on my old phone, so I doubt it's related, but...
Nobody else has any problems with Bluetooth from other apps? It's just me???
I use a USB bluetooth dongle with a 3.5 mm headphone jack in my car in order to stream music from my phone. I plug the dongle into the lighter outlet for power and then connect the dongle to the aux jack in the car's stereo. Everything works great when playing any media. However, it won't connect for call audio. If I were to dial a phone number, the sound from the key touches play through the radio, but as soon as the call connects the audio plays through the phone's earpiece. I am not able to get the in call audio to stream through my bluetooth. When I go to the bluetooth settings, I see an option for media audio and nothing for in call audio. If anyone can help me get this fixed, that would be great. Also, I am on CM 10 RC 1, but this did the exact same thing on stock touchwiz.
Bump
I have the same issue on stock. This thread isn't the same as what you're asking, but he does state that he is trying to find a workaround to the same issue.

Thanks for the reply. However, my issue is that once a call connects, the audio goes through the phone's earpiece. I can only stream media (youtube, Pandora, music, etc.) through Bluetooth, but calls won't connect to my Bluetooth setup at all.
I really hope someone has a solution to this.
Just today I received my earphones but I have some troubles trying listen music with my moto z, when I conect it, the cellphone recognize it like a charger and ask me if I want only charge, transfer data, etc., I made some tests with spotify and power amp but the music only plays with the speaker not with the earphones, then I saw in developer settings an actived option "not enable audio @ USB", I turned off the option, restart my phone and made a second test with spotify, play music and power amp, this time the earphones deliver sound but after 5 seconds the music stops, I need to quit the earphones and connect it again but every time only plays during 5 seconds, someone knows how can I use it? any setting that I need to chage, activate, deactive...
Thank you
Trying fixes I discover Onkyo HF player, only with this my earphones work.

I believe it uses an non standard "analog" implementation of Type-C to 3.5mm headphone, thus it won't register. (HTC and Huawei did this as well)
To be honest, the USB-C Standard is pretty messed up (it's so... not standard). Not only every producer has a different interpretation of this standard, also USB-c wasn't created with audio pins in mind. the USB Type-C Audio standard came up merely one year ago.
Funny enough, these headphones are compatible with a few Xiaomi phones that have USB-C (but not all, couple of models are not supported, especially with one with built-in mini-jack)
Does it not work when selecting 'audio source' in the developer options?

It would be nice if they had this stuff figured out before killing the 3.5mm jack hey?
We're left with expensive bluetooth earbuds that sound like **** and a dongle that's hard to replace and easy to lose.

Its not that hard to replace (not super convenient, but also not unspeakably horrible)
This dongle works great, is inexpensive and arrives pretty quickly:

The issue is the USB DACs that OEMs are putting out but not making it compatible with generic drivers. Think of it like this: you can buy a Windows compatible USB sound card. This sound card is not available in macOS unless you have the drivers. However, there's no way for a user to add drivers (unless rooted) to an Android phone.
Xiaomi should have made their headphones work with standard drivers as well as their custom ones.
