Cant update G2x - T-Mobile LG G2x

I rooted my phone and installed cyanogenmod 7. After i installed it alot of my apps were removed like play store, google map and etc...
So i restored my phone to see if i could get my apps back and it did, but now when i check for a software update it says current version is the latest which is not.
G2x
Software version: LG-P999-V10f
Version: 2.2.2
Rooted

Did you install gapps with CM7? If I'm not mistaken, the latest version doesn't have Gmail or maps, they have to be downloaded from play store. Also, check out Titanium Backup to restore your apps after a flash.
As far as the version thing, I don't think you can do an OTA update from that version anymore, you need to use the LG updater I may be wrong on that part, though

Yeah that's what I'm talking about.
When you flash a new ROM, you have to flash gapps, too. It should be linked somewhere near the link for the ROM itself on that particular thread. Gapps will install play store and walk you through the initial set up, etc...

Hope this work for you.
No dice. But thanks for that, at least I've got it for future reference.
EDIT: After deleting the outdated APK, uninstalling and several reboots it actually worked great. Thanks!

Wheres the Android market app?

I just installed the new Cyangen mod 7 rom and it installed fine but theres no Android Market app anymore. Without it I can't download titanium to restore my backups.
You should be able to find the latest version of the market in ROM Manager. Look in ROM downloads under Google Apps. It may be there. If not try doing an XDA or Google search for the download and I'm sure you can find it posted somewhere.

You have to flash GAPP's, its available wherever you downloaded CM7 from. Due to licensing they can't include the google apps in CM7.
ah thanks I got it now. Apparently the app didn't install during the first installation.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 9 Alpha Unable to install/update

I cannot install or update any apps on my phone. I can restore them via titanium, but not through the store. Does anybody have any ideas?
I'm running the release from 29th March 2012 if that helps...
It seems that trying to install the latest gapps has fixed it for now.
But it does keep trying to update Osmos, even though I bought it through the humble bundle instead of the pay store. Any help?
Also, don't know how to edit from the app, hence the double post.

Don't worry about the double post, nothing to worry about here.
You can try to clear the cache from play store, or maybe reinstall it. reboot your phone.
Sometimes it needs a while for the store to recognize all your apps and settings.

Thanks for the update on editing!
I restarted my phone last night and I couldn't install apps again. Rebooted into recovery and reinstalled gapps again and it seems to work again. Next time it happens, I'll try clearing the cache first.

There is no possibility to workaround. Games bought outside Google Play will be always marked but cannot be updated.

Cheers. Seems a pain, but never mind.

EDIT: Clearing the cache, data and force stopping hasn't helped the downloading issue.
EDIT 2: I installed Play Store v3.5.16 from here, and it seems to work fine now.
Thanks for the link, just install it and can confirm it worked for me.
Known Issue
Yeah - that's one of the known issues on CM9 Alpha unfortunately...
Very difficult to find an ICS ROM for the Desire S where everything "just works".
Thanks for the link, I had the same issue, but after I installed that, the issue is gone!

Need link to CM7 RC3

Does anyone have a link to CM7 RC3? I have tried the one from cyanogenmods site but its down. I'm running the latest nightly build and my gmail crashes on boot and anytime I try to use it. I also have a clicking sound on out going calls. Sometimes in coming. I would like to get that RC3 though. So if anyone has a link, please post it. Thanks

Try reinstalling gapps. I'm running nightly with no problems.

Try the latest nightly...

I am using the latest nightly and I was using an old version of happened. I downloaded the newest version and flashed it. It still crashes when I try and open it.
I wipe dalvik, and regular cache; Still giving me grief.
Djvoluer, that's where I went to download the latest stable and it displays a 404 when I try to download.

Make sure you're downloading for p999 device, latest is 20120610. If still having problems, boot into CWM, Nandroid backup first, factory reset, wipe cache & dalvik-cache, flash ROM, flash gapps.

I didn't think the gapps were platform specific. Please correct me if I am wrong but I thought they were universal and more architecturial specific. Divided up into 3 key factors; Android version, architecture, and CM7 build. Not p999, p990, etc. I could be very wrong. If that's the case, I am sorry aand could you provide a link?
The gapps version I am using is 20110828.

So instead of taking the latter, I just uninstalled and downloaded the gmail app from the market. It worked. I feel stupid for not thinking of that before!
Is that link not working for anyone else?
I can't take screen shots either. It says mbitmap = null.
I miss the old July 11th baseband!

I think you're confusing some concepts. gapps.zip is required to enable Google Market/Play, it's not included in CM ROMs. Gmail app is supposed to be downloaded from the market once you can access the market.
BTW my prev post was referring to the ROM 20120610 for p999, latest gapps for CM7 is 20110828 (generic), which I assume you know how to flash, I just included it at the end for completeness since the factory reset will have erased gapps.
the link to get.cm works for me, but you have to scroll down on the left side and click P999 to get the ones for our phones. those are device specific, gapps is android version specific
try this link directly to the CM7 nightlies, the first zip is the one you want

You should read three comments up from yours though lol and since I have already flashed the latest nightly, I'm pretty sure I know to click on p999 haha I'm sorry about being an jerk but I don't like being talked to like I'm a stupid. I'm not trying to insult you or be a **** just saying.

[Q] Offical Google Play Store App Download

Hello,
does someone know if there is an official place where I can get the Google Play Store app?
I had the problem today, that I installed a new rom and there was no Play Store to load my apps.
Best regards,
Manuel
you have to flash gapps for your ROM, just installing the play store isn't enough as you will be left without google accounts

Additionally you'll have to install gapps for your specific android OS. There are gapps that are ICS specific, JB specific, etc.
