kernel/radio recommendations - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I'm running mods slim and fast aosp based rom and the att UCLF6 radio. I need a kernel that will give me better data speeds..or would a different radio be what's needed? Just looking for tips or instructions or whatever, I've got flashing rooms down but I'm still green when it comes to kernels and radios. Eh..I used to dual boot Linux endlessly and I loved it.and I loved messing with it..but the Android aspect is so daunting it makes me feel like such a noob. So I plan to scavenge these forums for everything. So if anyone can give me some kernel recommendations , some radio recommendations. That would just be swell. I'm sorry of the person who replies to this has answered a million like it , I searched around but I'm trying to get a very specific, no doubts straight out answer so I don't feel as challenged when I try flashing these. Hopefully one of these days I'll be the weary soul poring over countless repetitive threads answering second nature questions for the less experienced
Edited for forgetfulness and grammar mistakes: speed test results included. Showcasing my pitifully diminished speeds

There is no best radio and as far as kernels go they have no effect on data speeds try them out yourself to see what works I'm reporting this thread to have it closed have a nice day

Well I know there's no best in general, that's why I included the name of the rom I'm on so hopefully someone would have experience with it. I assumed that ones sr with given radio and same rom would be the same as my Sr with given radio and same rom. Thanks though. Could you tell me why you're reporting it though.? Man the last thing I wanna do is aggravate people I'm sure its annoying when someone asks a simple question but im just looking for some help , if I know why its being reported then I know what not to do again.

No there is no best at all. Although kernels can affect speeds (not common) there is no best as its relative. As for modems that's relative to where you live and the Freq your provider has in that area. Best you can do is play with compatible modems and verify. Thread locked

General ROM question

I just bought a Tilt and I want to clean it up and get rid of all the AT&T stuff they put on there that really isn't needed.
Can you all suggest a ROM that will clean up the phone w/o loosing features and give me the iPhone theme (TouchFlo)
I would like to be able to use the onboard GPS for nav and listen to streaming radio and watch TV on it....
Thank you,
Jess

Thanks for the link if it's worth anything to ya....
and to the other guy, We were all NEW to this forum at one time. Instead of being sarcastic to someone new, maybe it would be better to explain how "You guys" do things around here so new people know.
anyway,
BTW, I didn't ask "for a ROM".... I asked for a "recommendation" That's usually what forums are for..... asking questions and getting advise.
you guys use and work with the different Roms all the time, I don't. I find one I like and stick with it until I get a new phone.
Have a nice day.
I was only messing around, the text was supposed to say "Asking for a Recommend ROM...", but NVM.
If you looking for a ROM to stick with, try either the L26 ROMs, ROMeOS or the duttythroy Diamond ROM.

Hello, all applications for iPhone are fakes ... Maybe it's to boost sales ...
I'm afraid of people thinking it really works...and the fact that most of these people are allowed to attend elections too makes me feel miserable for democracy.

Thunderbolt is boring

Is anyone else getting INSANELY bored with the same old stuff for the T-bolt? I know that I am currently missing the daylights out of my good ole trusty HTC G2. Does anyone have some advice? I am running the new hacked 2.3 rom right now, but there doesnt seem to be anything truly new done.

Feel free to shove off anytime now, mate. Clearly you don't pay much attention to your surroundings, but there's some excellent work out there. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I don't buy phones to see how many crappy ROMs I can flash on it. The Tbolt dev community is focused tightly on cranking out reliable, feature-rich, functional ROMs. None of these guys are slouches. And now that I've said my piece, I'm gonna forward this thread to the first mod I run across because its totally pointless. Thanks for your vacuum of input.
Have u tried a aosp rom....
Sent from my A05PTH3ORYB0LT using XDA App
Yeah, some of the AOSP roms are beautiful BUT I personally think we need to pull together to get that darned RIL working with MIUI and THEN the T-bolt will be amazing again.
@ Loon: Hiya bud, nice to see ya trollin yet another thread ;-)
G2 came out ages ago when most things were new on android....maybe that's why nothing seems "innovative" to you anymore
There's a saying that everything seems great in the past because we forget the things that were bad.

I like how you think loon is the troll. You realize that a vast majority of the people in these forums don't care about your opinion, as they find the Thunderbolt to be an awesome, feature rich phone with fantastic dev support.

That's because it was all about the root. I miss my Eris forum and fully understand why so many devs have abandoned the E4GT. The environment and culture on this board are pretty horrible.

It was back in the day when not everybody rooted or messed with their phones. I was a ppcgeeks guy as well. Everybody in there knew the risks and honestly tried to search and fix their phones themselves before asking questions. Also the questions made sense....lol

I've been a geek a long time now... I've seen this happen for everything that eventually hits the mainstream. It's, Unfortunately, inevitable. The next step is slash-and-burn style forum hopping and the geekier among us developing vetted "gated communities".
Sucks, but, it happens..... Every time...

PPCGeeks is how I found XDA. If you wanted a CDMA Winmo rom, they were the place to go. Back then, XDA really only dealt with GSM roms. Both forums have changed A LOT since then.

HANG ON! I THINK I'VE BEEN ABLE TO DECODE THIS TEXT! Here's what I've pulled from this message....
I think he's talking about the partially working JellyBean ROM in our NS GSM development section. And he is referring to the title "crack flasher". Apparently its a term crack dealers are familiar with. When he said "I remember when I sold....", I believe he was literally talking about a time when he used to deal crack. Then he closed up by making a joke that crackheads are crazy and will say or do anything (even if that means lying, cheating, etc) for crack. This ties directly to a joke or disappointment towards the ROM. The ROM isn't fully functional so maybe he is trying to connect the developer to a crack head in the sense that they'll do anything for a "drug". The symbolic "drug" that the DEV has is getting people to flash his ROM and get posters, even though it isn't finished (because the DEV lied in the OP's opinion).
All in all he was just making a poorly written joke about the title in the thread that pertains to the JellyBean port.
You're welcomed fellow forum members. Now we can all sleep easier tonight. The OP's message will no longer plague our heads with confusion.
