Is their a music app that doesn't suck? I've tried everything! - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I have searched the forums, searched google and God know's where yet I haven't found one single music app I like. I liked the sense music player that came with the phone but I don't like using the default launcher and their isn't any widgets for it for other launchers.
And now I am on the paranoid android rom so I can't use that no more. I like Apollo for it's UI but it lacks many features. And I don't like PowerAmp. It has features, but to many for me. I am literary over whelmed of the features. I just want a nice UI and and a few nice features.
I'd also like an app that supports the HTC one x's nice HD screen.
By the way here's the ever growing list of music apps I've tried and don't like for some reason or another.
Google Play Music, Apollo, PowerAmp, WinAmp, UberMusic, DoubleTwist and SongBird.
At this point I'd pay for a music app.
The only things I want are a good UI that isn't ugly and an album art grabber (for downloaded tracks with none) and of course it has to have a widget (which even all I've listed has had one so I'm sure that's standard.)
And it'd be nice if it had a coverflow effect. The effect from google play music is nice but this isn't a required thing for me.

I religiously use poweramp but try playerpro. Might be to your liking

I've personally been using Doubletwist since I switched to Android from iphone and it's mostly been fine, just took a bit of getting used to but I think that's more about coming from iphone than anything that's wrong with Doubletwist. What didn't you like about it? If you buy the paid version it let's you download album art, and various other airsync features etc.

What exactly are you searching for?
I found this one music player.. very unique especially for people with hearing loss.
It goes through a process giving off beeps in your ears going left and right, then equalizes your acute hearing to perfectly fit your hearing. Its definitely ingenious as it helps me a lot, my right ear is kinda going out.
App - Soundbest Music player.
The widget is so so and the UI is simple but sucks.
3rd party Equalizers will help the music player as well..
At the moment I use Google Play for JB and SRS Panel with an Audio Mod. Yes I don't own a One x, I own a Droid incredible but I understand your pain of wanting the best music player. I've honestly searched up and down and really haven't found the best one. Poweramp is highly overrated, the equalizer and effects are terrible.
The only other app I've liked besides Soundbest is Neutron but even then the UI is a monster.. the widget is again so-so. But the effects and equalizer is unmatched.. perfect for a audiophile. I recent was using Semc Music player "Sony Walkman" but.. without a widget its almost useless plus it didn't active the equalizer on the fly.
The only ones I suggest trying are Soundbest and Neutron.

I've always really liked Playerpro. Well worth the few bucks, and I've tried everything out there as well.

Try xbmc http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28757772 it looks great on htc one x, but it has few errors but looks greattt
From beast called HTC One X

If I didn't pay for power amp I would use Sony Walkman app

Thanks guys! Just tried it out and it seems to be what I've been looking for. I am not a fan of how the buttons (play, skip, etc) look blurry on my HOX.
Going to try all the others now to see if their is something better.

I really didn't like the UI mainly. I, myself came from an iPhone so I have heard about that when I was googling "how to sync music between iTunes and htc one x).
It's okay but I don't like music apps that put the album art and controls in a "drawer". Song bird does this too. I hate that :/

PlayerPro is my player of choice.

+1 for Playerpro. Plenty of skins available for it. Make sure you install the free DSP Pack too as it drastically improves the EQ :good:

I use the paid version of Poweramp and don't see what's not to like about it.

If you use player pro at least design your own skin.
I made a co-co sense 4 version.

I downloaded the apk from the internet(cant remember where) but it works on every ROM, so when switching between I can use it on all them lol

I would recommend you try Mixzing ( kinda like PowerAmp )
if you want nice UI with good amount of functionality I would recommend N7player
Here is the Google play link

Player pro is the best.

Which music player are you using?

I've tried different music players and to me there's no clear winner as all seem to have some good qualities but also some drawbacks. So I'm wondering what music player you have been using and why.
Lately I've been using mixzing which has most of the features I want. There aren't many drawbacks, except I wish there was a skin option (I would like to have bigger buttons while playing in portrait mode) and the possibility of launching it and have the music that was playing last start immediately (like an ipod). I also wish it would somehow integrate with the stock lock screen showing the music currently playing.

I haven't yet found any player with really big buttons, but I just tried btunes like some people suggested and it has gesture support, which is pretty good too and integrates somewhat with the screen lock. The only problem is the ugly iphone skin.
MixZing is awesome and so is MusicMod (for Froyo).
The latter is free.
mixzing is good, I was using cube for a while!

Me, i'm using cube... It's new, it's great, it's beautiful...
Hi!
I`ve had my Desire for a couple of weeks now and,I started using the built in musicplayer..And after a while I downloaded Meridian since I did hear a lot of good things about the app.But for a couple of days ago,I was out walking (exersicing.. !! ",) ).It was raining an ocean,so I pluged in some earbuds started up Meridian an started playing some downloaded podcasts. After I have drayned I went online and found out that 3 Cubed was recomended for a nice 3D-effect cube (some sort of eyecandy..)But that wasnt the thing that made me switch,it was that the widget was smaller then Meridian and that I was able to change musictracks just by pressing the ON/off key on my cellphone and unlock. That was handy becouse I have an lockpattern on my cell. That means I could save me some toutches
As a multimedia-player (videoplayer and steamingplayer) they olso play music but Ive started using 3 as the prefferd player. If I have recorded videoes with my cell I often just use the built in or Meridain (I havent uninstalled it yet..Even thou Im running out off storrage on the "inernal".Since I havent rooted my cellphone and the OFFICIAL 2.2 ROM adjustments to Desire is HTC christmaspresent too me).The same goes when Im watching streams from TED or other sites.
I know that Meridian allow me too set "always on while playing"-setting but I found out that 3 solution was so nice that I might just uninstall Meridian since I need all the space I can get on Deisre
Just my 2 cents.
EDIT:Some letters had dissapeard and some of them was changing places on my reply
bTunes
After being disappointed with the built in player for HTC Legend, i tried many free music apps, like doubleTwist, 3, zimly, TuneWiki, meridian, Music Player etc etc. Everyone had one or two cool features and one or two drawbacks. Design, function, bugs, etc.
i finally found bTunes and went ahead and bought it.
It does look exactly like the player in iphone, but it has loads of features and settings, like for podcast/audiobooks, a lock screen (on top of the regular), cover art downloads automatically, lots of sorting options, etc. To sum it up, it feels more robust and one feels that a lot of thought as been put into it.
Although i must admit this is the only paid player i have tested, but all my needs are satisfied with this one, so i neednt look any further.
MixZing is the only one I've tried that I like more than the stock player. The lock screen and widget choices are what sold me. Well worth the seven dollars. I agree with the OP that skins would be a welcomed feature, but isn't a dealbreaker for me as long as the interface looks refined (which it is).
FOr now Im using Museek. Its not perfect, but its free, has pretty solid sound quality, and has a few nifty features with no real drawbacks.
Subsonic for music streaming. I keep almost nothing on my phone anymore and it works great.
Ambling for audio books.
Dog catcher for podcasts. Older program but works great.

Spotify is the best music player I've used.
doubleTwist all the way, works great, looks great, sync great with its partner PC/Mac app.

Sometimes a really good pair of IEM's will cure the need for sound enhancers. IE7/8, Westone UM3, Shure 500 series. These top off the rack IEM's are why i love digital music.
i tried a couple of places but it never installs right for me
I just installed it two things bug me though. I there any way I could get it working as a replacement for the stock music player? Like making it work with the lockscreen and work right in the notifications area?
It's much better than stock even though it can be glitchy.

The best ever Music player for android

Friens finally TTpod has release its 2.5 version and its the best ever android music player out there. awsome skins. Now also has equalizer. Has 3 screens with visualizations.
Feature list will be nice..
Edit: Market says 2.3.4 so how you got 2.5?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium
Thanks for the share buddy.... I will try it for sure!!!
I tried the one the market (2.4.1), and it's really great!
The UI is really intuitive and pretty (3 skins), the integration of lyrics too. The widget has lot of features, display song progression, lyrics too, even on over the homescreen by one click.
Only drawback, the way we browse through the library is unfinished.
If I start looking at an artist, I would like to then see the albums.
For now all the artist's songs get mixed up even with correctly tagged mp3 files.
And it doesn't find as much lyrics as Wikitune or Lyrics app.
There is more info of the 2.5 here : http://mobileplanet-waryam.blogspot.com/2011/08/ttpod-v250-beta-250-android-apk-app.html
TTPod was my favourite player on symbian, on android i did not like it so much, but i will try it again.
I like it.! Better then stock n other paid apps. ( wont mention names). When there's a song playing n its on my screen how do I add to favorites? On the sane screen? .... You mean audio manager by dsp manager?
NM found it is from cyanogen
I agreee that that there may be some other music player out there with more features. But let me tell you that none of them run as smoothly as this one on a low profile device such as HTC Wildfire with froyo. So its clear that it uses less resources. And while using other music players while changing settings on equaliser the mini second pause is clearly evident on a low profile phone. But TT-pod solves that for me. Hence for me its the best and more importantly you allhave to agree that none of the players are visually so appealing as this one even the MIUI player
Is anyone else's recommend and online music sections in Chinese?

Alternative to music player pro?

Recently went from iphone to galaxy note and I'm lovin it soo far...there are however a couple of thingd that I do miss. There's this iphone app called music player pro, which lets you use swipe gestures on the screen. The really cool thing is that these commands can be done while the screen is turned off. Is there an android alternative? I've searched the market to no avail.

Try Using Poweramp, its available on the android market, its the best one ive ever used, it plays nearly all file formats and even has an option to search for missing album artwork and editing id tags
I took a look at Poweramp, and promptly uninstalled it. Someone had recommended it to me (based on an earlier version), but the new version's UI is just so unbelievably messy it's not worth trying to navigate it at all.
I personally use Real Player. Gets the job done. I'm looking forward to when VLC player is finally available though.

PowerAmp's new UI takes getting used to, once you're used to it, it's pretty much the best player out there. Downloads missing artwork, VERY advanced equalizer, I think it supports Wide Stereo too, but the X Stereo function is the bomb!
Poweramp and PlayerPro are the most feature-rich options. I use Poweramp and I like it, particularly the music lyrics plugin, but its UI needs a serious overhaul. It's made more for a pimped ride's in-car Android user interface than for a phone. So much glitter, neon and pizzazz makes people want to puke and I can relate with it... however, it works nicely, it's got a powerful EQ and it works very well with BT headphones. A pleasure to use, horrible to look at.
I use the miui music apparently. Its nice. At least I like it and its my favorite music apparently.
