No DATA - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I now get no Data. Anyone else experiencing problems with Verizon network or is this my phone? I was rooted the ODIN way and tried all kinds of ROMs but have since ODIN back to stock and *2767*3855# reset doesn't fix it either. Fried SIM?

I had that problem with my fascinate. I called Verizon and they reset it.

Did you flash any AOSP roms?

Cm10 . My sim cards per Verizon store were switched between my gn and gs3. According to them that was a mistake and the cause of my problems. Funny thing is that they worked fine for a month. But whatever, 2 SIM cards for both phones and all is ok.

Their is absolutely no reason that one sim card should not work in both phones. Whoever you talked to was a dum dum.

Did the settings for mobile network get changed somehow? Check under wireless settings and make sure the box for using mobile network is checked. If not you may have to Odin back to stock with modded 3e and root.

I just bought my first infuse yesterday and i really like it only one problem though it wont connect to data with my personal sim but when i put my company sim in it works is there an app or download i can install to override this issue or do i need to get a new sim card? Btw the company sim card that works is an old 64 cingular sim card and the one that doesnt has 3g att on it . Any help is appreciated thankks Sam
That doesn't make sense. Call ATT and tell them your sim doesn't work.

Sounds like the radios got messed up because of a possible bad flash. Try re-downloading Tweakstock v1.4.zip and reflash in CWM. If that doesn't work, ODIN back to stock and then install Tweakstock. That's my best guess.

Your radio probably screwup. You need to Odin the factory stock image and the PIT file. Download PIT file and factory image from here, then ODIN to your phone.

Another thing I can think of is make sure 4G is working in your area. If that doesn't resolve the issue then give Verizon tech support a call and they can reset your phone ID on their side. (This is same as when you bought your phone and tried to register and it's not working, but they can reset and it should work after that) unless you have hardware issue.
ace5198 said:

If you still can't get it to work Odin back to original stock and take it in to the Verizon store and play dumb. It may be a little dishonest but it's worth not having a phone with no ability to call, text, or use data.

Can rom installation fix network problems on stock ics?

First post
Anyways, Ever since I've upgraded to ICS, I've been having serious cell-related network connection problems on my tmobile iemi-unlocked atrix 2, mb865(NOT Wi-Fi connectivity problems.) My signal is constantly going from 5-1 bars (several times a minute) in places where I previously experienced a solid 5 bars with gingerbread and my (also unlocked, on tmobile) iPhone 2g. Also, my carrier logo is disappearing and reappearing many times a minute as well. (Even when I have 5 bars.) Sometimes , I just get a red triangle with a white cross inside of it where the bars should be.
Sometimes, these problems are temporarily fixed when I enter airplane mode for a few seconds, then exit it. But within 15 minutes of exiting, I begin experiencing the same problems. Other times, they aren't fixed through entering/exiting airplane mode , and I have to reboot the device.
My question is, will installing a rom perhaps fix these problems? Since my network was fine on gingerbread, it's obviously not a hardware problem. I'm rooted, of course (but before rooting I experienced these problems as well.)
I obtained the iemi through at&t and not a shady third party unlocking business, if that makes any difference.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Well it can't hurt to try a new rom.... wait it can haha but yes sometime even a factory restore can fix a lot of random issues. My buddy was running stock gingerbread on his phone and it had a messed up usb port. I then put CM7 on it and it worked magically so it is a possibility. I am currently running numa and it fixed my wifi issue where it would randomly turn off. But I think a good old factory restore could maybe fix it,

I believe your unlock will be there still. I could be wrong though. And if you have a sdcard it will be unaffected by the factory restore and new ROMs. But its a good idea to back it up every blue moon. And yes you can get your apps and app data back with titanium backup. Make sure it stores to sdcard and the same with ROMs.

Also, I backed up to titanium, did a factory reset, and restored from titanium. I still have the same problem. Could I possibly freeze some apps (using Gemini app manager) that involve the sim card? Would that avail to anything?

Yes. At least in my country the warranty is for one year. But, if you bought it the phone with the two year contract i think, the warranty should last two years.
And the other thing, i have no idea man. Sorry. I never experienced that, and i don't know what happen there. But, my advice is that you must go to the warranty and try.

Try installing the Phone Info app from the Play store I did and it lets you force toggle the correct 4G/LTE settings for your provider. Not sure which one you'll need, but I've used that app to sort mine out when it acted up. Also did the modem and rpm updates, but phone info got me better results.
