Praise for EZ Recovery - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Just wanted to say that I used EZ Recovery to flash the hybrid recovery with the Invisblek v2 kernel and made this process very easy. I looked and didn't see another thread for this. I had seen other methods of flashing the kernels. But this was one click which for a lot of people will make life easier. Thanks to the developer for the great app.

Agreed. Can't be beat for flashing CWM. Only thing I'd like to see is Imo's lean kernal added in, but I think it's coming. :fingers-crossed:

His kernel is flashed via CWM, so it's a much different process than flashing a recovery image. I'm exploring different ways to handle this. It's a bit of a ways out, don't hold your breath! :silly:

[Q] kernel flashing question

im gonna flash over Da gs kernel today, do i just flash the at&t .42 first then the script of my choice? total newb here haha
No, flash Da_g's OC kernel and you're done. But if I were you I'd go with faux's kernel because you don't get SOD (sleep of death) with his
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Disregard that last message, you are correct sir. Shouldve done 10 more seconds of research. Flash 0.42 then your script (I think it's out of 3).
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Flash Da_G's kernel its really good. After flashing the kernel if you get SOD aka sleep of death than follow the instruction here.
Thanks guys! I tried to find it but found everything else haha thanks a bunch probably gonna flash it over today

[Q] Flashable stock kernel for 2.3.3

I was able to find one from jboxer, but it only gave me a bootloop and didnt work.
Stock gives the best results, faux kernels don't have the performance I'm looking for and Dragons OTA kernel gives random reboots.
Does anyone have a flashable zip of the stock kernel or know how to compile one?
Any help, links, or work and effort is appreciated.

Try Trinity, very smooth.

I don't think there is a Stock Kernel only. You will need to Flash the Complete Gingerbread Rom to get it. The one from jboxer was also a complete Rom.

Roms from other carrier's...

Since the bootloader was unlocked has anyone tried to flash a ROM from another carrier?! Is it possible?!

As of right now, no.

Well at least you guys have enough courage to flash a new ROM I'm debating whether or not I want to flash a plain ol' touchwiz ROM just because I don't want to lose my IMEI

AOSP - Kernel Suggestion

Is anyone using a custom kernel with CM10? If so, what is your experience and opinion?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I am currently using a Sprint kernel and not having any issues at all. Its the 747 kernel sorry I don't have a link handy but it works well lots of schedulers and governors to choose from
Does it support call recording?

I noticed that to switch kernels the OP of that post suggests that the user flash a stock kernel (which is at&t in his post). Would this work for us now that we are unlocked? Or do we need a Verizon version to restore wifi/blue tooth drivers?

Have you suffered any wake lock issues on the Sprint kernel? Many of us on CM10 have been having this issue on both the stock CM kernel as well as Imo's. I would certainly give this kernel a shot if you haven't had that particular issue. Thanks!
