BlindBEAN v1.5 - Preview Edition VI by blindndumb - G.O.A.T. but i miss bluetooth - HTC Desire S

Hi,
i'm using BlindBEAN now since v1.3 and i am more satisfied with my Desire S than ever before.
I use this as my daily ROM already - loving the smoothness and the fact that nearly everything is working.
I'm flashing custom ROMs since i got my Nexus One and i my opinion this is the best one i tried so far on any device is tested custom ROMs.
I would have posted the following in dev section, but since i'm not a member for long enough now i have to do it here and hope that someone else can help me out or perhaps i draw the attention of blindndumb himself with the title and the awesome linking system in this forum.
Anyway since we aren't allowed to do phone calls unsing our phones while having them in our hands while driving, handsfree calling has become very important so Bluetooth is essential for any car driver right now.
Sadly Bluetooth isn't working in this ROM yet, can't see any other device nor mine can be found ;(
There's another minor thing i experienced when watching youtube vids or streaming vids by using the browser, the phone does a quick restart.
I know this isn't even an Alpha or Beta but "just" a Preview version and everything else works fine already which is so awesome!!!
Still i would be more than happy for a workaround with the bluetooth issue otherwise i paitiently am waiting for an update from the dev himself
Thanks,
and i very much apologize for my bad english, since i'm from the same country nk111 is from ;P

[only info ROM/no download] 24-10 TripNMiui 2.3.7 - TripNkernel

Hello Guys. lot of time passes from the my last visit to modaco forum. In fact there are few roms. But the there are two of these really interesting.
I wanna try it because there are some beautiful function like MOBILE BRAVIA ENGINE 4 (the same of xperia arc), xLOUD to improve speaker sound visible in this changelog
TripNRaVeR port for MSM8660 Pyramid touchscreens
- xLOUD 4.0.A.2.368
created by SEMC
TripNRaVeR port for MSM8660 soundchips
- TAPS

it seems strange that in this forum I never seen something about these two roms.
I' talking about two roms because the firs is a MIUI and has beats, the second is based on CM//aosp and I dont think hs beat (unfortunately I need this tweaks)
THERE AN IMPORTANT INFO OF THIS ROM. KERNEL IS 2.6.38, INSTEAD MY SYNERGY 2.6.35
Well, its not in this forums because he has stated he didn't want the ROMs to be posted here.
I just removed the link, so the thread is only to informed poeple. I dont undestand why developers dont want to share theirs rom. Is counterproductive.
I guess he has some issues with XDA. That's why he didn't want it to be posted here.
he was banned in this form...so he don't share this rom on this form.
his rom is very cool..very smooth..
I only write about the roms. If moderator dont want, I'll happy to remove my thread, but still they dont contact me, I'll wait
Communication and Sharing
he said on modaco a while ago , that he has no problem if his stuff is on xda but
he has to work with someone from here to maintan the thread and so on ,maybe
the OP can talk to trip and a moderator from here and arrange something.
LET'S WORK TOGETHER PEOPLE !!!
yeahhh, you have reason.
I would try a rom cyanogen very faster than others with beats, bravia engine xLOUD (spectacular) and fps limit at 80 fps
Trip didn't care about puuting thw rom on xda. He gave approval to tonyo to do it

i think this thread will be close...
we all know why..
ok, you can close the thread, but I don't understand.
I'm so sorry for this "war" between two of best android forums on network.
I know the problem, but we do not speak about the user nicknamed (is this word exist??) modaco, but another user.
I am not seeing the point of this thread we already know about the other Miui and aosp duhh
Trips ROM was great at first, but he doesn't develop consistently if that makes sense. Every release he completely re-does all kinds of big important parts to the ROM (drivers, etc...) and this results in broken stuff that used to be fixed lol. The audio is good (too loud actually), but everything else pales in comparison to the MiUI.us build.
Not meant to get into an argument or anything, just would like to pass on my point of view to others who might want to go flash his ROM for the first time. I've flashed every ROM and every kernel of his. IMO, the version on this site is leaps and bounds ahead...
That would make sense why trips on his 10th build and their are always problems with his rom. Miui released just 2 builds so far it is way better than trips 10 builds lol
he created a rom with 80 fps limitation and mobile bravia engine. this people must be thkanked maybe with a breer by paypal.
In these roms (miui and aosp) all work. but beats is missing. I never seen a rom cyanogen with beats. do you know if is possible to implement??
Scumbag XDA.
Wants the best roms, bans the best devs.

His builds are pretty good. Just had a problem with the recent one with start up reboots that's why I reverted back to aosp for now. Otherwise, best battery life, Camera is perfect, audio is perfect and performance and feautures is there. It's the perfect rom.

I recently checked out TripN's ROM after not having used it for a while. Found the latest one to cause bootloops, and after I sorted that out, it was more buggy than one of his older ROMs. Don't know why though.
I would use the miui.us build regularly if the camera was sorted. I don't even use my camera that often, but its good to know you have a semi decent camera and camcorder available on a sense Rom when you need it.

Can you tell me the bugs that are in Trips, that are not in MIUI.us? and vice versa
No point in this as it is not development....

FULLY WORKING!!! [4.0.4][Sense 3.6] On Inspire 4g

I just saw this http://www.phonearena.com/news/ROM-brings-Ice-Cream-Sandwich-to-HTC-Desire-HD_id33380 from PhoneArena and it looks like this ROM is fully supported for the Inspire 4g. My wife won't let me flash any more ICS roms on her Inspire any more and wants to keep the latest stock debloated GB rom from AT&T since it's stable and fast. I was wondering if anyone had tried this rom or know of a better more stable ICS&Sense rom to try to convince to let me flash on it for her.
Here is the XDA link from PhoneArena http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531218
I would suggest that you read the last half of the posted pages, then make a decision, if you will look on the DHD forums, there are a few Sense 4 ROMS with most things working, all have a few bugs right now. It is just a matter of if you can live with a few quirks and update your phone as they get things fixed.
It's for his wife. It is best not to flash any ICS roms for now. Wait between two to four weeks if you want an ICS sense rom or the JB roms. There will be bugs and she is not going to be happy, they never are.
My assumption is that by then the ICS/Jb roms should have a minimal of bugs.
In the meantime read through the threads and check what you would like. I doubt she will show any interest for now.

Thank you, I have been reading the dev threads in the Inspire section and havn't seen many that are as stable as the one I saw on phone arena, I didn't know that the desire HD roms would work on the inspire 4g thought the Inspire had updated hardware on it, there seems to be a lot more ICS sense roms on the desire HD thread I wonder if they all work and how stable they are on the Inspire 4g. It would be easier if my wife would let me flash them to try them out but the 1st ICS rom I flashed had alot of things broken and were buggy and she got mad at me. Any info on a good stable ICS sense rom for inspire 4g would be great thanks again.
PS if the desire hd ICS sense roms work on the Inspire 4g why aren't they posted in Inspire threads?

Separate devices, separate threads. Every now and then they do post a rom in both threads.
Regarding the Roms over the dhd thread and compatibility - most of them come with the required files for them to work on the Inspire, or they would link what else needs to be flashed in the OP (Original Post - First Page), as some also do over here in the Inspire section. However, there is one rom that was released today (can't remember the name of it) which the sound (I believe it was the sound) won't work on the inspire. The menu button doesn't work on either of the devices, the inspire and dhd.
Regarding blackout, can't remember what the bugs were/are, but if you are not familiar with flashing I would stay clear from that one for a while. It needs to be flashed a certain way, quite easy - simply it consists of doing the full wipe within the aroma installer, when it finishes choose "no" when it prompts you to reboot - do a manual reboot and should work. And do not download from dev host.
The latest release from randomblame - B14, has sound issues. A previous version may work but I can't recall what bugs the other ones have. Same issue goes for - I believe it's B4 of the AOPK version.
There is one with wifi issues. Can't remember which one.
Those are the ones I remember from the top of my head and I haven't flashed any of those in a while. I just read silently, waiting for the bug reports to lessen.
I've been using several versions of the latest official Sense 3.0 release for our phone (which you can find in this thread) since it came out. I haven't tested any ICS/JB rom for a while. However, I did flash Existz BR6 today, and for the way I use my phone - it works without any issues. I link my google contacts, do the facebook sync to show with my phone contacts, whatsapp and the xda app and wifi, that's it. I received a call, it sounded good. It's fast, responsive, haven't been able to check battery life - but it's bound to be good. I did run BR5Test2 for a week or two, and for me to keep a rom that long it has to be either bug less or with a minimum of bugs. And that is, working out of the box since I still haven't learned how to play around with a rom to fix this or that.
Hope this helps.
P.S. I had the same issues with my girlfriend, and other members with their women. They will never be happy.
Edit: existz mentioned a bug regarding the keyboard keys sticking/lagging every now and then. I haven't experienced it yet, but the easiest fix - paraphrasing existz, is to lock and unlock the screen.
Just read the first couple and last 10-20 pages to have an idea about a rom.
Most of the bugs mentioned may and probably be ironed out with the next release.

I've been running Existz ICS ROM pretty much since it's inception (the Inspire is a secondary device for me) and it's done nothing but get better. I want to try the new Sense 3.0 roms, and the ICS/Sense roms once they are more stable, but I just can't let go of stock ICS.
I've experienced the keyboard bug, and it's annoying, but everything you type does appear even if you experience the bug.
ICS does have a few issues, but I'd like to point out that I'm using blackout and I haven't encountered any bugs yet :good:
I forget if bluetooth (after disabling it would cause phone problems or something) was fixed or not, same with wifi hotspot (after turning on wifi hotspot you would have to reboot to use normal wifi), but I don't use either so I haven't noticed it
Aroma installer seems to be causing some issues, you'll have to mess around with some settings to get everything to work well. A bad flash will have no boot image, just a black screen. A good flash will get you Blackout's boot image.
But otherwise it feels very snappy and fast, everything runs well and I'd say that it's pretty much the same stability of most sense 3.5/GB ROMs. Actually, I think it's a little smoother than Energy.
Following that XxxPachaxxX's Nero XL(3.6) has the second least amount of bugs (although with a big gap between Blackout), and a bit farther away is Virtuous a3 (4.0A). There are two more ROMs out (last I checked) that are just completely incompatible for I4g, but from comments seems to be just as stable as Blackout :/
Although I think in a month's time Sense and ICS will be just as stable as Sense and GB.
I've been using Blackout ROM with ICS and Sense 3.6 and it runs really great. I will keep it until a stable ICS with Sense 4.0 comes out there. I've seen a couple of them, but I normally read they have issues with camera/hotspot/etc. I had a non-sense ICS ROM but I really missed sense.
don't give up on ICS, go IceCold

I've been running Lord ClockaN's AOKP Ice Cold Sandwich 8.5 for a few weeks now and everything works great. FB Sync, 8MP Camera, Wifi, tethering, Bluetooth. The ONLY issue is that the camcorder only records up to 480p. If you just set it on 480p before you give it to her, she'll probably never change it.

I tryed giving her AOSPX ICS from existz and she wanted sense and since it was an early release there were quite a few bugs and I was in trouble :crying: but thanks for the input again any other suggestions would be great really looking for stable ICS or JB with Sense 3.6 or 4.0 I read this on the portal http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1826903 so maybe soon I can give it to her once the devs get that kernal working for their roms

I've tried the Blackout ROM, so far everything is fine except for the WiFi, it's been very flaky on my phone. It's constantly telling me that the wireless network in my home is out of range, when I'm 10 feet from the router. Rather annoying... but it works other than that.

Yes I've read good things about that ROM but alas it is AOSP without sense and not what we are looking for now if a port of Sense 3.6,4a,or 4.0 were put on there that would be what we need
I'm going to try later tonight, but wanted to ask just to avoid any obvious problems. When I flash Blackout will I need to flash any type of Inspire MOD like for existz's ICS AOSP build? Any other tips or tricks I should know about before I take the plunge?
Thanks in advance.

When you flash blackout the aroma installer already has the inspire mods in it so you don't have to worry about the mod pack

So, does (or will) the camera app in CM10 have the same burst mode that the Sense camera has? Can you take AS MANY photos AS QUICKLY? Will those photos be similar quality? Will we be able to pull stills from previously recorded video? Or take Hi Res stills while shooting HD video?
I read the last 15 pages of the development thread and didn't see any of this being discussed.
Thanks a bunch!
Billy

Burst mode is a sense cam feature only, because there is no sense in cm those features will not be there. Your best bet is if you want sense cam but asop feel go with clean rom or tn rom, they can desense the launcher but keep the apps but you will be on ics. But i will say the cm cam is alot faster then it used to be and is still a good camera.
**PLEASE READ IN REGARDS TO CAMERA ISSUES WITH CM10**
The rapid fire camera mode is named Zero Shutter Lag or ZSL and there are plans to implement this in the near future. You will also soon be able to take still pictures while recording video. H8 & the CM10 team are working on getting every feature of the camera to 100% and they say they are nearly there.
However, as of right now the camera, video camera, & panorama mode is still relatively broken. The camera's bare bones features are working but only in the build's that are labeled as EXPERIMENTAL. The regular CM10 nightlies do not contain the WORKAROUND that H8 has come up with because this workaround has not been merged with the offical CM10 nightlies that the One XL is now getting.
Word on the street is the camera will be 100% working very, very soon so please be patient.
If you use and rely on the camera on a daily basis...please only flash the EXPERIMENTAL builds until further notice!!!

by audio fixes do you mean caller volume? Im on the 8/22 build. I heard the 8/19 has good caller voice but it kills my battery.
Any idea how we can get native emoji working? It gives the option to download the add on in keyboards settings. Installs. Then refreshes and shows ready to download again. Also, any plans for Google wallet? This ROM is amazing and ridiculously fast!! Thanks for your hard work and help!!

Definetly hit or miss. Heard it was fixed in the 8/28 but no music so I guess I'll stay on 8/22 and deal with it. Heard someone say they flashed AOKP ICS rom and reflashed CM10 and it was fixed.

I have a couple of general questions.
1. Will the official release of HTC JB drastically and rapidly improve the project? Will lots of things need to be redone/reoptimized? Or it's simply some missing links being filled? What kind of time frame can we expect for a fully working CM10 (equal or close to the quality of CM on the other officially supported devices) following the HTC JB release?
2. Exactly how was the team able to develop this rom so far without official support? And how much farther can this realistically go if we do not get the official JB in the near future (hopefully this doesn't happen). From what I read, I'm under the impression that this rom is already in a much better shape compared to the development phase CM builds on many other non-officially supported devices (for example ICS/JB builds on older devices that received EOL after GB). Is the kernel of the phone somewhat "easier" to crack compared to those devices or is that we have some super talented developers behind this project? And the developer seems confident that even without official HTC JB, this rom can pretty much become a *fully working* one?
Thanks for the awsome work!
Is wake locks an issue with cm10 so far or just a few users isolated type instance? I was getting massive wake lock for alarmmanager that I do not get on CleanRom.
anyone else getting bad battery life with this ROM? currently running the 8/29 nightly.
Right now im at 33% battery with 11h on the battery but only 1h45min screen time. I also have GPS on and brightness around 1/2..which could possibly be the problem.

1. Nope, didn't help us at all. Didnt need it. As far as I'm concerned, after tonight's nightly (technically...tomorrow morning's nightly) everything is pretty much 100%. a few bugs here or there...but I think the Nexus devices are the only ones ahead of us regarding "working" status.
2. We're magical. *snicker* just kidding. We've pretty much completely beat HTC to Jellybean with CM10. The great part of the kernel work intervigil has provided is that we use the same kernel for ICS and JB. Meaning we can backport all JB stuff to ICS with minimal differences. We are very confident that this will be a fully working one. The last piece we needed was the Camera HAL which we *just* received.
Thank you for the thanks! Enjoy!

Wooooooooooot!! And would it just be TeamDouche in general that deserves the donation? Or was somebody specific working on this?
Thanks H8!

That sir, is very impressive. "Beating HTC to jellybean" sounds so satisfying in an ambitious way, and completely changes the way these games used to be played. Hats off to all the "magicians" who made this happen!
One more question: what about LTE? I'm currently on the 4.0.4 based CleanRom 4.5, which is my first custom rom flashed on the phone (only bought it a week ago). Do I have to flash back to a 4.0.3 based ROM (which I have trouble finding) before flashing to CM 10? If the answer is still yes, is a solution being worked out to troubleshoot and solve the problem?

I'm not entirely sure if something is being worked on but I think you should flash CR4.0 as it is definitely working and is 4.0.3 base which is what h8rift said to flash.

May I ask what is the right procedure to flash CM10? In the zip there is a boot.img. Do we need to manually extract and flash it with fastboot?
I ask this because some people (including me) can't make LTE to work in CM9/10. Some say by flashing CleanROM 4.0, full reset then flash CM10, LTE will be the default. This trick does not work for me. What is the mechanism of this trick? What stays after full reset? All I can think is the boot image. But even manually flashing CleanROM's boot.img then flash CM10 does not work for me. Changing build.prop (ro.ril.def.preferred.network and ro.telephony.default_network as suggested at code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=1623 , sorry can't link external) of course does not work either.
I know #*#*info*#*# can change the preferred network type, but it does not stick after reboot, which renders this approach useless.
Thanks.

[Q] Chrome???

I have tried to use Chrome on a couple different roms (RC's CM9 Self Kang, JB Hackfest, Paranoid Android ver.8) and each time it starts ok then crashes after about 30 seconds. Has anyone gotten Chrome to work for them yet on their G2x? Am I the only one still trying to actually use a G2x? It's not my daily driver, it's my ONLY driver.
Yes indeed chrome works for the CM10.1 based ROM (by Adampk and others) that's still in development.
How? It has hardware acceleration working so many things actually work including camera except radio ( so no calls no text, your phone is practically a "tablet")
Can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1977573
And I'm still rocking my G2x
Thanks, but that still doesn't help much until the radio works. I appreciate the info, though. My new year's resolution is to finally give in and get a new phone, but I'm starting to get into that "bigger and better around the corner" wait and see attitude. Note 2 needs to come down on price.
Good news for anybody interested, the new Chrome Beta is working wonderfully for me now. Still running PA8.

[Q] Is there any 4.2.2 ROM with working Bluetooth A2DB

I really like the new features of JB 4.2.2 based ROMs but i have one big issue:
NOWHERE the bluetooth Car Connection A2DB is working!!
I tried Vanilla Rootbox, Avatar, PAC and a few other 4.2.2 (CM10.1 based ) ROMs.
Streaming music to my car is working perfectly, i can sync my contacts to the car but a Phone call just makes "white noise".
I switched to Stock ICS 4.0.4 and here i can use the Car connection and audio is great - but Stock ICS this is abslutely not my taste.
For about 2 Weeks i'm searching for a solution now without any success
Anybody has any suggestion for a ROM, Hack or fix? <- PLEASE!
btw: Vanilla Rootbox 7 for Galaxy S is working - why not on Galaxy R??

I think its known bug buddy. Let it be fixed.
Thin is a known bug since at least january!! I thought ast least one ROM could be there where this basic wefa
Don't get me wrong all the devs do a really great job here!!
But why is the priority if implementing the basic features so the ROM gets usable so extremely low??
Who do i have to donate to get this fixed?
I would be availabe as a tester for Car Bluetooth

Who do i have to donate to get this fixed? - Buddy, Please elaborate this line.
Also, When Devs works over any project, then they fix Major problem, not the basic one.
So let Dev to handle this.
Devs r working on it..u just have to be patient n everyone knows dey can get it done..respect wat dey have done to our device which ll not be having 4.2.2 if dey wer not der..if ur desperate to use Bluetooth a2dp, den switch over to ics

First thank you both for your answers!
I did not intend to offend somebody - sorry if it came over this way. I'm just telling my experiences and maybe i cannot write it in a polite enough manner (which is a known bug in my personal firmware).
I do respect all the devs! I already said they do a great job!
JB (CM10.1) based ROMs are great with battery life, usability, flexibility, features and everything works - except receiving calls an A2DB car hands free calling.
I tried serveral JB ROMs for a few months now, because i really like it - but my wife got crazy by now! She could almost never reach me, because the phone ignores incoming calls when it's in deep sleep or roaming - a known bug, i know. This one must be a lot harder to fix than a simple Bluetooth audio config which is 98% working anyway - thats way i just asked if there was a fix i didn't find.
On other Devices these features seem to be much easier than on the Galaxy R because both these issues are forking perfectly on our Galaxy S (1).
Regard Donation: Well, i thought the problem with this fix is that somebody might be missing a bluetooth headset to test it.
Since Media A2DB works but Hands free Calling does NOT i thought it might be just something VERY simple to fix and just the needed test-equipment is missing..
According to your recomendation i'm back to ICS Blueberry.
Thank you again!
I have the bluetooth handset.. And I know how to test Self... But no time...
