Hey can anyone tell me how to bypass the activation screen? I bought a new Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 4G from eBay but i'm in Puerto Rico and i don't have a Verizon account nor phone number. The phone came with a Micro Sim but when I put it on the Galaxy 3 and try to Activate it always gives me an error. I would like for someone to help me on this or tell me how to bypass it so i can root and unlock it so I can use it with AT&T or another carrier that uses Micro Sim cards in Puerto Rico.
Method i've tried that didn't work :
1. On the select a language screen, press lower left corner, lower right corner, lower left corner, lower right then volume up.
2. *#testmode (*#83786633) and press home screen.

Since you don't have an active SIM card, you'll need to unlock it so you can use it...Google "SIM unlock i535" and you'll have to buy the unlock code from one of the unlocking sites...Then put YOUR active SIM into it and it'll ask for the unlock code...enter it and you'll be good to go...You need to make sure it's on a compatible network though; the i535 uses CDMA and VZ's LTE band...AT&T at least in the continental US isn't compatible with VZW

Last question are you sure that i can unlock my Sim card without Activating my verizon gs3? Like im on a screen that says that i need to select the language and that i have to put a micro sim card and when i put it, it says "There is a problem activating your phone". If i buy the sim unlock code, can i put the code on the Emergency Call Dialer and will that bypass that activation setup? Please help me on this i will be very happy if you do.

sorry if this has already been asked. ok so i have a touch pro 2 (Verizon) which is CDMA and GSM/UMTS. I make frequent trips out of the country and need to ask this because my cell bill gets high. If i unlock my cell will i be able to use a foreign country sim card? Also to unlock it ive seen the thing on this website but i also read i could just call verizon and they would give me the security code to unlock the SIM is this true?
Yes, if you are a customer that has been in good standing for 6 months or more, they will give you the unlock code for the phone. If not, you have to jump through a few more hoops, but they will still give it to you.

Yes. Once you're SIM-unlocked, you can use any GSM sim card in your Touch Pro 2. There are data limitations, someone else will explain them if it's an issue for you.
Call Verizon from a landline phone. Enter your Verizon Wireless number when prompted -> Press 3 -> Press 4 -> Press 2 -> Verify Yourself -> Get connected to Tech. Support -> Request to speak with Global Support to SIM unlock your device -> Wait -> Tell them you travel abroad and would like to SIM unlock your device -> Follow the steps they provide -> Enjoy.
Those are the steps I took with my Touch Pro 2's.

Hello, I got an unlock code for my g2x through tmobile, and the instructions say to boot it up with a non-Tmobile sim inserted. Does anyone know how to get to unlock input screen without a non-Tmobile sim available? thank you for your time.
(I read some people advised to dial #073887* to bring up the screen,but no luck. I guess this is for att phone only?)
I can't remember off hand but a google search can find it, it is same process as the O2x. However when I tried to enter my unlock code with the T-Mobile SIM in it, it didn't work. I needed a non T-Mobile SIM for it to work.

Yes, you MUST use 999 instead of 540 because #*xxx# is your phone model.
Ok so I recenly acquired one from a friend. i did a factory reset and now I'm wondering of the SIM card I ordered from T-Mobile will work in this phone.

not right away, as Verizon blocks the AT&T and Tmobile bands on it.
First you need to get the phone sim unlocked, then you would have to get the Froyo radio on it, in order to get the US bands unlocked on it.
There are threads here on unlocking, and there are threads on band unlocking as well.

I have a droid 2 global without verizon sim card bought on ebay, what I need to know is how can I use the features without since I unlock it, I cant pass the sim unlock code screen when another sim installed, without any sim on the phone it prompts for activation of verizon cdma connection.
All I want to is access to other features in the meantime my turbo sim arrives.

Well, because you don't want to use Google.
To skip the Activation screen, tap the four corners of the phone's screen in a clockwise fashion starting with top left.

First of all please hide your IMEI Number from Picture by paint on it

Already test with TMobile sim but it dod not work. I bought phone and unlock cofe separately.
You can't, it needs to be done over the air, for me they unlocked it when I called, as the app did not work. They will only unlock it if you are a customer. That too after 40 days of service using the device. Only option for you is to give it to a TMO customer for use temporarily.
After searching on google, I found instruction as below:
- unlock bootloader
- root it
- push simunlockapp.apk to internal memory and restart, it will pop up table for unlock code.
But now I stuck at bootloader...

Does your phone asks for codes or not?
If it doesn't ask for code you can try the following 3 methods, however, they are not 100% guarantee to work:
Method #1: Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press #7465625*638*# Once prompted for code, enter the 8 digit Unlock Code.
Method #2: Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE#
Method #3: Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press: #0111*UNLOCKCODE#
If none of these work, also check if your phone's IMEI is clean and not reported or blacklisted by Sprint.
Sprint phones are usually unlocked one of two ways and neither has anything to do with a code. One is via Sprint with an OTA thing. The other is via root + a 3rd party tool like z3x, Octopus, or something similar.

You might have to unlock it because verizon comes factory unlocked thats why it worked

I bought the phone from someone and thought it would work but I was trusting instead of smart.. Should've checked it out first. Anyways im negative a couple hundred $$ and I would love if some one would be able to help guide me through unlocking the SIM and if necessary rooting etc. To make it work for my Metro PCS account. In short I need to be able to I assume "SIM unlock" my S8 and hope it'll just be ready to pop my metro SIM into it and it works. Any advice? Will it work if I can just unlock it and use my metro SIM? Or since its an the lease hadnt been fully paid will that be a problem... Ive checked on a couple sites that let you see the IMEI number and if its black listed but it isn't... Please help.

Correct. It IS an advertisement - and not a very good one. He obviously has no knowledge of phones whatsoever if he thinks that Sprint devices use codes
I too have a Sprint phone which I wanted to unlock with the help of information here on the site. Since you won't be able to use unlock codes, and also bcause when I called Sprint they wouldn't help me -told me to contact the seller of the phone to have it unlocked, I was desperate for any unlocking method. Hard to find a working one and didn't want to waste too much time (old Galaxy S5 was already at it's last breath) I made contact with one of the unlockers here on XDA and one was able to unlock it remotely for me. I did pay $15 but with the crappy internet I have and since most unlocking sites are asking $39 for unlocking S8 then I really didn't mind this $15. Took well over a few hours to do since I had to download combination file for my phone which took a while. It's unlocked now thanx to vosi7en here at xda. I do have 1 problem now and that's tethering.....I don't have the option to do any hotspots. Anyone have an idea? I can't root yet cuz I'm on latest Oreo now.

I'm not sure what a "tmobile for vzw sim" is. But you might need to remove the Sprint bloatware in order for it to work properly

Any thougth on why VZW always roams and does not connect to data? Tmobile appears to work..
