I think we need a inverted color gmail app for Galaxy S III, remember black backgrounds help save battery life, if we could change the gmail to black background with white letters instead of white background with black letters that would be a big help!!!
P.S. I can not build android apps so this idea is free to steal all I ask is to credit me on the idea that you put into action!!!!

First I made the inverted gmail app for DarkHorse Rises theme. It works on ICS/JB and phones as well as tablets. Its is built of the latest 4.1.2. Yes it can be flashed in any rom. I can post it if people want it. It is inverted but has flavors of DarkHorse theme built into it... screenie to follow

You can extract the darkhorse theme and find the gmail apk and replace it with the old one

Hi fellow Infusers. Are you anything like me and everytime you flash a new rom you find a themed APK that suits you?
Ive been flashing ROM's for a while now, and have QUITE the collection of different themed APK's. Everytime I flash a new ROM I have to bring my MMS.apk with me, because I love the color of the text bubbles.
I always switch out the white google search widget in favor of the translucent one's I've found.
Anyways, onto my point. I would love start a thread storage area for themed APK's, but would I have to get permission from each developer whose ROM I ransacked to get the APK's I want, or would it be sufficient to just give them credit under each one?
Well hopefully we can get this ball rolling soon. I know I will definitely upload a couple in the coming days that I know wouldn't violate any rules.
In the meantime. Do you guys know any roms that have awesome MMS.apks or any other cool apps?

Dman you're a dev do you know the rules? Do I need to PM each of them for permission or can I go crazy posting themed APK's in a thread in the themes and apps section?
If it were me...out of respect...I would ask each one before you post pieces of their hard work....just respectful is all...I know it takes some time...I had to wait 3 or 4 days for darky to reply to my permission request before I posted...even though I already had it running....its the right thing to do bro ...

I've gotten these from places like 4shared and other file share sites finding the person who did the work would be impossible but if anyone recognised there work here and wanted me to put credit up for them or take down their work I would gladly but I have no idea who made these but thanks for your concern

To get the Gmail app working, simply uninstall the original Gmail from Google store. Then install the new Gmail app. It will then say sinking email. What you will notice on your status bar is a little icon with an! In it. You have to give the app permissions to sync your email. After you accept reboot your phone and tada!

Here's a link to Trav's inverted gapps. Email is in there. It says 4.1 so I'm guessing thats still the newest version. Either flash the whole package in recovery or extract the email.apk, copy and paste in system apps, overwrite the old one. Set permissions if needed, and reboot.

Lmao. Apparently its not in there. Perhaps its themed by one of the random XMLs in there or something. I'm not really sure. Somehow mine ended up blacked out but I definitely didn't flash a separate zip for it. Anyway got this for ya. http://db.tt/ucqUJVVw Travs inverted email. As far as I know that's still the newest version even though it still says 4.1

That is out of my league. I can only erase them. If you push on the gap it still functions. Can't take the function out of the app. Sorry.

I know you don't know me and I'm new here but it's what I do. .. break down and rebuild stuff for my n3. You don't have to donate lol. I do this for fun. Obviously if someone requests like 7 diff keyboards then I might not get around to it but. I have no problem helping someone out that wants something custom though just bc I know before I knew how to I spent hours looking for the custom stuff I wanted.
