By that logic then Windows phone 6 is probably the fastest os around. Maybe we can get a awesome Windows 3.1 build going and run awesome apps like ms paint

if you liked ios you should have bought an iphone , No android user will port ios to us (maybe a theme but not the os)

Personally, I think an open WebOS port would be more useful than a Firefox os port...

I severely doubt it. You're talking about porting copywrited work across operating systems that are written and function in vastly different ways. It's already massively hard to port htc sense from device to device so I'm guessing your only hope is someone writing an app that looks and functions like the one you want.

That wasn't a concept. It was how you seem to think software works. You can't just port closed source software made with different programming languages from totally different OS'es.

I believe that when LG realeases source for ICS on O2x then we might have a possibility of good ICS Roms coming to our phones, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

As soon as the source gets released for the Korean ics version, the devs should have what they need for a fully functioning ics or jb, at least that's how I understand it.

I wouldn't hold my breath for it for the next several months. If there's some glaring issue with your G2x, I'd just keep it.
I would... I had one briefly but the damn speaker was messed up. If I could find one for a deal I would get rid of the g2x without a doubt. This phone has been nothing but problems since day 1.

Actually we don't need to port I just remembered about the phoenix webos app that the phoenix group have been working on that let's u run webOS within android we don't need to port we can just wait for that to come out.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I heard about the app, but having a limited os inside an app isn't the same as installing the full os on the device
I'll probably try out the app but I still think it'd be better if someone could port webos proper to the nexus 7
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Well I wonder how it would be limited you could just take a ROM and use titanium backup to remove all in wanted apps and just use webos for everything.

They've released how to test it on webos ports http://www.webos-ports.org/wiki/Testing_Nexus_7 but u still have to boot it at first via the PC (after its booted to webos you don't need to keep it plugged into the PC) but apparently using it won't affect your android install, now just to figure out what ifconfig is.

The hd2 was a windows phone.. Its mostly a copyright and license issue.. You'll never see a windows ROM on an android phone, only vice versa.. There was a big discussion back in the day about this when I was on the Raphael forums.. Microsoft surprisingly looks at this stuff
On a side note there is a win 7/8 launcher in the play store.. It looks pretty decent too

Yes it would be very cool; if only from a novelty standpoint. But it isn't going to happen for many reasons including hardware, licensing, IP, and the DMCA and its chilling effect upon research in a legal gray-area.
