Iphone 4s camera is better then the htc you could check the mod made by nodo in the developement section...
Sent From My Sexy Sensation.
There isn't much you can do except run your photos through filters and stuff to make them look old fashioned. Bottom line is that the sensor on the iPhone 4s is much better than the Sensation's.
Outdoor photos usually come out pretty good when there is lots of light. But once inside you will get grain in your photos do due to the small sensor on the Sensation.

One thing i just need to put out there because it's frustrating me how people have this confused the htc has a 1.3mp camera NOT and 0.3mp.

Proof if you need it.
Edit: Sorry people I posted this before the Sensation was actually released. Turns out i, as well as the person in the video, was mistaken. It is, as you no doubt know, a standard 0.3mp VGA camera. Sadtimes for all... ):

Indeed!
But if you know how to use proxy server/IP address you can view it.
Ontopic:
Nice to see it's 1.3 Mp!
can't see ......
Huh?....
I can't view your video but I don't really care what some tech blog site says. The FFC is VGA. This is according to every major electronics site, including htc themselves. Not to mention the quality on our ffc's just looks god awful like a VGA.

There is no way this ffc is 1.3; at the very least on the T-Mobile USA version. Sorry to break it to you but it is just as crappy as ANY other VGA camera.

What's so hard in taking a pic and seeing the resolution of it?
It's a 640 x 480, which equals 0.3MP.
Deal with it. That is all.

My girlfriend who's not tech savvy in the least bit loves to point out the flaws in my Sensation ie: crappy ffc as opposed to not as crappy on my G2x, the phone heating up during normal use, the loose power button (on my last Sensation) and my current crooked volume rocker, creaky right side, erratic battery life, texts that may or may not come through. The list goes on but I still enjoy the phone. End rant.

What are your guys thoughts? Impressed, disappointment?
What about the new nexus?
How do you think the 5 mp camera compares to the sensations?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
The Nexus looks amazing. I love the Nexus line. I'm probably going to pick one up eventually. I love my sensation, but the Galaxy Nexus is wayy too nice to pass up imo. Megapixels don't tell the whole story mate. Look at the iPhone 4 for instance. The camera was a lot better than most android phones with a 8 MP.
Agreed but when I was looking at the shots taken with it I wasn't to impressed.
How long till we see a port of ics on our sensation?

Hello I have an evo3d and my hand its kinda itching to buy the sensation.
The 2 reasons are the weight and the camera quality, pictures I mean cause any way I'm not using the video.
I was reading the forums and they were saying that also the sensations camera is not the best and the pics are not good even if it has the 8mp cam. The size of the pic is also small which means that the compression is high.
My question is ... Is any of this changed in the ics... Are the pics better? Is it worth it an extra 100e the upgrade?

i found sensation camera better than s2, atrix and optimus 3d ( other than galaxy S, desire, wildfire/s but these are inferior phones )
There are several way to not compress quality and soon we will have the amaze cam on our ics roms
got an absolutely good macro and very nice video rec
these are compressed photo @6mpx widescreen ( stock htc camera no effects or modification )
third is resized

Sensation cams are good. You have different options of what you want in a cam like the rom you want to use or the mods devs make for cameras. example like the modded amaze cam with blue ray quality.. great cam. I have no complaints about the sensation camera. Check out the forums under Sensation and have a look around to see what people are saying about the camera or the mod add on packs etc.. good luck mate
Thanks for the answers.

Hello,
How are you? I am considering a One S, but the camera is an important feature for me, especially in regard to image quality.
So, with that in mind, I would like to know how is the camera on the One S, in regard to the lens and sensor. Is it exactly the same on the One X?
Thank you.
Cheers

From what I saw, the HTC one x seems to compress the files more and that results in more noise. Is that so?

The GS 3 camera isn't better, in some shots, it is, however, in other shots it isn't, overall for photos, they are more or less the same, neither are far better.
The S (and X I think?) struggle with bright reds a bit though (become far too over saturated and you just get a glow effect, have to reduce the saturation by one level when you are taking a photo of a red petal etc.)
1080P recording is far better on the GS 3 though, the light metering and smoothness is great when compared to the one S/X. However, the stereo audio recording sucks (unless it has been fixed recently?).
The 2 things, which are far better on the X and S without a doubt is the camera UI and features.
Whilst both the X and S are the same for camera, the 1080P video recording looks smoother and better on the S and I think the photos from the X look sharper[some have said that the S photos look sharper] (although there isn't a big enough difference to worry about)
You can see my photos here:

I currently have a galaxy note. But I am a bit tired of the big size. I would like a phone to be able to handle with one hand.
Has such, I am afraid the One X might still be to big.
So I am eyeing the S.
The price difference is just 50 euros here between the two.
I would also like a better camera because I am leaving my camera at home more often and relying on my phone camera...
So? Is the one S a good choice?
is the camera an upgrade from my note in IQ and low light shooting?
Cheers

I've been wondering about the camera quality of different HTC phones. I've used a desire HD, Sensation 4G and a HTC Vivid and all those had 8mpxl snappers , I've ordered a one x off ebay and it too has a 8mp camera, (camera in One x is loaded with features though) Are there any real difference in quality?
I've been using xda for over a year and today I thought why not be part of the community. So here I am,
Don't you remember what HTC kept yelling a few months back?
Pixels don't matter!!
But seriously, you should notice a huge uptick in photo quality in comparison to those devices listed. I believe an HTC device that comes close, but not to par, with our camera is the HTC Amaze 4G, a little while ahead of the devices you mentioned.
Here's the HOXL thread for community contributions of their photos, you'll find these all over XDA likely in their specific device forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639324
I'm guessing with the more popular international HOX, there's a way more active thread that you can use to aid your comparison.
Also, here's a comparison thread between the Sense camera and AOSP camera I started a while back, in case you're interested.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943160
As I have stated in various threads the HOXL has one of the worst cameras I have ever used. The color balance of the stock photo app is terrible regardless of how you set it - the skin tones are either too red at the default saturation or too gray one ticket down. There is NO happy medium, with the exception of blazing sunshine outdoors. You can make passable images if you either tweak the colors after the fact, eg with the mobile version of PS or with a photo app that gives editing options immediately after taking a shot. And the front camera is worse than useless unless you clean the lens at least once a week. I seem to be in the minority here, yet most people I would send pics to would tend to make similar comments.

Your opinion is definitely in the minority.
@OP
I've owned 2 of the phones you mentioned and the One XL camera is definitely an improvement. It does have some minor issues with low light and some indoor lights but it's still easily the best phone camera I've ever used.
The camera is good no doubt. But I miss using the image sense chip. Until there is a 4.2.2 version sense, I will not cone back. The updated stock camera app and frame work is awesome. However the generic android camera app is good too. In my opinion I think sense has the edge sense the software is built around the hardware obviously. That's just me though. But to non-photographers like me, the camera will suit you just fine and your draw will drop.
