I could hardly sleep & I have been searching the web for hours,
I hope here is were I'll get hellllppp
In advance Thank you.

You cannot update over OTA if you are rooted. If you are able to go to recovery then flash the custom ROM again and everything will be back to normal

If you mean
-wipe data/factory reset
then I still get this:
ClockworkMod Recovery v3.2
E:Can't mount /chache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /chache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /chache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /chache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /chache/recovery/last_log
If I could stop the rebooting process
is there anyway to access my xoom from the pc?
ClockworkMod Recovery reminds me of DOS.

Re Flash the rom u where using, hopefully if you can get it on a pc and put into your root drive youll be ok,
Reflash the rom in clockwork, and it will be back to normal
OTA Upates when rooted = Worst idea.

I can't get access to my xoom via PC
the minute i start my xoom up it shuts down into
Clockwork.
and then the error mount starts.
Is there no guides for a noob like me ?
I am freaking out, i have to work tomorrow,
my job is on the line :crying:

If you have rooted then you must have used fastboot. Try to flash the stock image obtained from motodev using fastboot.. have you tried it before? Just search the forum about the procedure

Ok after hours of :cursing: & getting very angry & cursing motorola nonstop,
feeling sick to the stomack
My xoom has been set back to 3.... now at 3.2
and here is the BAD JOKE
System updates:
Your device is up todate.
No update is necessary at this time.
I could "vommit" ! <-- where is the smilely for that ?
My xoom downloaded ICS then got hung up because of Root,
Now there is no root & NO Update
BAnGinG my Head!
Anyone have a clue what is going wrong here ? ? ?
Have a smile about me it is Free & Healthy. :silly:

If I were you, I would do the whole thing from scratch, thru adb, I will install another recovery after I unlock the boot loader, and install a pre rooted ROM.
Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29733454
However, the rom is for mz604, get the one for mz601.

Put this on your internal SD card along with your ROM of choice. Reboot in to recovery and install packages 2 times. The second time it will be in clockwork recovery and you can flash your ROM.
I just had the same problem after doing countless ROM flashes in the past. Perhaps its something in their server preventing the download of CWM? Anyways, thanks for the .zip. Worked like a charm!
yes thank you very much for that zip u saved my life well appreciated
Keep that .zip on your HDD and you can bypass Rom Manager (and all the associated problems) altogether.
I have my phone rooted and unlocked. It's the AT&T Captivate but I'm using it on T-Mobile. I've had no problems so far with it.
I downloaded Clockwork's Rom Manager (v3.0.0.7) and tried to Flash ClockworkMod Recovery to begin experimenting with ROMs.
When I click on that it tells me "An error occurred while downloading your recovery."
I have over 4 gigs of memory left and I have 3 bars on 3g and WiFi going. No internet connection problems (i checked the net using market and using the browser, it works fine.)
What else could be causing the problems.
I'm just wanting to get a good stable rom going which ditches all the junk AT&T put on the phone.

I Can't get the update.zip file to work. After I reinstall packages is says E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip (No such file or derectory) Installation aborted. I've tried it probably 20 times today with no luck.
Thank You
Nothing like flashing to find out it wasn't working. Thanks for making my day go better.
Noobie Mistakes
Just like everyone in this forum I'm having the same problem, I followed your instructions posted, but every time I reinstall packages in recovery mode a whole list of new problems comes up..... see below.
---Install from sdcard---
Finding update package...
Opening update package....
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
PLZ Help.......

if the update.zip is already on your /sdcard/ then there is no reason to try and download/flash clockwork recovery.....thats what the update.zip IS
thats what i thuoght but not true. even goin in normal recovery and selecting to install packages gets a error some about no such directory or something even though updat.zip is there even fix permissions gives a error
I'm having the exact same problem. After reading the development section I have decided to flash a custom rom from my stock rom. Installed "Rom manger" from market, then tried to run the "recovery" got the same error msg. Also uploaded the update.zip to my /sdcard the I got the below errors:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted

Did you flash back to stock JF6 first not JI6?
try this cuz this is what i did and the update.zip worked just fine for me
1. one click back to stock jf6
2. master clear
3. root with galaxy s one click root
(after the root there should be an update.zip in your sdcard)
4. replace the update.zip in the root of your sd card with the one here posted which is the clockwork recovery one and if you want while u do that you can throw in the rom that you want to flash in there as well to kill 2 birds with one stone
(i will re post the update.zip for cwm just in case)
5. power off the phone and boot into stock recovery and hit reinstall packages two times
6. you should now be in clockwork mod recovery and can now flash the rom of your choice
this is what i did and everything went smoothly but this is just me if this helps someone else plz let me know if this works for you
p.s. i will make a video if needed just ask
Try This
After flashing back to stock do a master clear from Odin3
Put update.zip onto internal sd
Boot into recovery
Reinstall packages
After boot enable USB debugging and mock locations
Get Rom Manager from market
Start Rom Manager
Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
Flash away

You guys are making it harder then necessary, the update zip I posted is the clockwork recovery MOD, just flash stock, reboot into recovery and reinstall packages 2 times and you will be in the green clockwork recovery then you can install zip from sd and choose your ROM you placed on your internal sd card. No need to root every again as long as you keep this update zip handy.
I too am having problems with Rom Manager. I just wanted to change modems. No go. So I used the power button to go into Recovery mode, picked the modem file, flashed it then told the menu to reboot system.

[Q] Help please, can't use any Kernel on SGS2 except for CF-Root

Hi to everyone, first of all I'm Marco, 29 years old from Italy, nice to meet you
Now my problem:
I can't use any Kernel on Galaxy S2 except for CF-Root (essentially is the stock Kernel rooted).
I did a deep clean but the phone is stuck on the start Galaxy SII image.
I tried Abyss, Siyah and Ninphetamine.
Actually I'm using VillainROM 3.0 but I also tried other roms and had the same problem.
If I enter in recovery it gives me these errors:
E:can't mount / cache/recovery/command
E:can't mount / cache/recovery/log
E:can't open / cache/recovery/log
E:can't mount / cache/recovery/last_log
E:can't open / cache/recovery/last_log
I can't even flash anything in recovery and had to re-flash Cf-Root with Odin.
Maybe someone can help me?
Thanks in advance
i dont now much about the gs2 but i suggest finding a .pit file and flash that via odin witch will remove any partitions and restore memory back to normal then find a stock odin image flash that and start over. as for your kernal issues you need to make sure the rom supports it before flashing it.
Hi, thank you, so are you suggesting to install directly the rom with Odin without using recovery? The Kernels were made for the roms I tried, actually they were inside the roms
Ok. I got it!!
I never heard of PIT files but once I discovered what they are, i flashed it with Odin and now I have Ninphetamine 2.1.3 up and running on VillainROM 3.0.
Thank you so much, you've been really helpfulf!

try power off, pull battery and reboot into recovery.
If you dont get a different recovery,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437548
use h8rift odin stock package with 3e and root.
If it has been so messed up, try the ultimate one to go back to stock rom.

[Q] E:signature verification failed?

Hello and thank you ahead of time,
I have been trying to load my first ROM onto my Nexus S after finding the ICS "update" that Google gave me was a load of troublesome crap.
Through this forum I successfully rooted my phone and installed Super User app. However after wiping date/factory reset and wiping the cache, I tried to install Cyanogen and get the following lines:
-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Your guidance is greatly appreciated!
The recovery on your phone, does it say Clockworkmod recovery at the top? It sounds like you may still be using the stock recovery.
Yes it says Android system recovery <3e> at the top.
I installed Clockwork Mod recovery before I rooted my phone. I guess with the wiping of my device it is gone.

That does happen. You'll need to install clockworkmod again as the stock recovery cannot flash unofficial roms.
Does anyone have a link to Clockwork mod that I can download right to my phone? I'm having issues in general with my computer's internet and in China I apparently can't find or download directly through the marketplace.
i know the link but i cannot leave reply

pardon my ignorance.
will this apply for SGT P1000 also? if so, how to use this "img" file?
i had been running back and forth with this rom flashing for a week now. i just can't get through the signature verification failed part.
help will be highly appreciated.
i already installed clock work mode, but it's still show recovery e3, what should i do?
After you instal the cwm flash the recovery from cwm and reboot into recovery, this is a cwm option. From the recovery flash your favourite rom.

[Q] Problems with flashing!!

I am currently on CM10 Alpha 3.
I tried flashing 2 ROMS (JellyBam and PacMan latest ones).
I followed the normal procedure(Backup,Wipe data, cache, dalvik) and install the ZIP.
While flashing Jellybam, the aroma installer got stuck on "Extract: /system/update_me.xml"
I had to take out the battery and restore the bakup.
Then again i tried installing Pacman (same Procedure) and while"Installing update" step , recovery rebooted.
It gave me errors: "
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/last_log"
I tried restoring but it got stuck on "Restoring System".
Then i removed my battery for a few minutes and booted into recovery and restored successfully. The phone is working fine but my problem is why cant I flash other roms?
Any developers who would help?
Thanks.
I guess that's because the latest version might be built for cm10alpha4. Read flashing instructions for alpha4 on cm10 thread ... read the last few pages as well.

Odd case, mate. I just update my phone with A4, then I flash JellyBam v.1.30 with scrolling and build.prop mod make by Top Droid. And so far my phone is alive and still working. Try flash stock ROM again and flash A4 after that.
