Hello, I'm grimm!

Midgetgrimm that is. Hello XDA, finally after hearing enough times of "check the xda" or "it's def in the XDA" I figured I'd swing in and see what's up. I'm somewhat new to the nitty gritty stuff, but I can hold my own. I run a DarkSlide Rom on my Rooted Droid X with custom boots and it's super stable. My girl is getting a new smartphone tomorrow, I think I am more excited as it will be a new phone for me to learn and Root. Well I hope to have a growing post count, so I will see all of you soon.

That's great, glad to have you. If you haven't already, be sure to get the XDA app from the market because.. well it's pretty awesome lol.
But yea man, what type of phone is she getting? You are aware of the phones from CES and upcoming MWC right?

Hey thanks. I just dl'ed the XDA app. I love tapatalk. She isn't sure and I don't wanna pressure lol. I think she'll go with and Android OS its just which one. Personally I wouldn't mind playing with the new windows phone. I used have an Omnia and I loved flashing and teching that phone. I really love Android, all the fun and its growing market and its openness to the people is just Wozniakish circa 1980's. Lol. Thanks again.

I had a friend come over last Friday and she asked me a question about her Facinate...I teased her for having it cluttered when she replied with "Do whatever you want to it...I don't care." That made me smile. I didn't have time to do much to it, but shes coming back over this week and I plan on doing a bit more to it.
I too am curious what Grimms girlfriend got though.

Haha thanks everyone! So my girl got the Continuum and yes she will let me play with it but only minimal surgery is allowed. Prob a root maybe a rom. Im really interested in learning to change the bootani's. Well hello bak to all. Im sure we will all meet again somewhere on these forums

all i can say is thanks for everything you have givin us!!! i love your work and the fact that you are so hands on with all of us, even the people that are too lazy to read and learn before they ask the same effin questions over and over again... but you have to remember, that you are doing this for free and take time for number 1, YOU!!! i have no complaints about a break from the nonestop dev'ing you have been giving to us, i will be looking forward to your comeback...
btw, did ya get my donation?

No sweat, everybody needs some off time. Those complaints and repetitive questions are unfortunately unavoidable because not everyone here is as technically/technologically inclined as the rest. Those of us who are truly appreciate your work and will miss you until you come back.

Take your time. I love your kernels I can wait. To bad alot of people don't bother reading.

Faux, love all the work you do! Never had any issues with any of your kernels/ROMS and everything runs so smooth. Its understandable to take a break every once in a while to stay sane. Just dont over-do it and take a load off. Hope you enjoy your 'you time' and wish the best. Cant wait to see you back!

I think the reasons you've already pointed out are why we loose some devs and others form groups. I think it's great that you've joined up with Team Royal, but at the same time I think the group may be taking on too much for it's size. What are there now six team royal roms? I don't know what things look like behind the scenes but that seems like a lot in such a short amount of time. At any rate you guys need a PR front man to take care of the *****ing and moaning and redundant questions while you do what the rest of us can't. Not that I'm volunteering, sorry I just can't spare the time.

Being a server at a restuarant I can kinda relate to this. The more tables your asigned to, the more your brain has to work lol, and also u kinda get stressed out because u have a person over here who complained about thier food and another here crying about not having enough ice in their soda lol. Even if your doing the best u can

I just wanna say thanks to all the devs who are keeping our infuse community alive! AT&T slacks on their promises, we all know that, but im happy that a lot of you developers have and are taking the initiative to bring GB, Custom GB, and even ICS-like rims to us infuse owners. I have really noticed the boom in ports, and modified roms lately and I must sau I am quite impressed, once again thanks devs KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK... and don't mind those who aren't appreciative cuz remember the key phrase

Yeah. Even though I don't use custom ROMs much any more I appreciate all the hard work you guys do. I definitely use the root and unlock discoveries and will probably use some custom ROMs based off the official AT&T Gingerbread ROM once it's released.

+1 to this, great to see devs still supporting this phone. It's quite a shame if this phone just got left for dead and forgotten simply because the processor wasn't dual-core. It has so much more to offer and is really overlooked.
My last experience with custom roms wasn't very great (HTC Magic, everything was laggy as hell) so I just avoided custom roms for the most part and stuck to carrier roms. As inflated as they are, they are always stable, and that is my #1 priority.
however looking at the latest roms for this device the tech geek in me is screaming in my ear to ROOT THE PHONE AND PUT ONE OF THESE ROMS ON ASAP
So again great job.

Hi everyone!
As of today, I am no longer an owner of an Android phone. Yes, I have gone over to 'the dark side' (Apple) and gotten an iPhone. Many of you won't recognize my name, but I wanted to thank all of the Infuse devs for their hard work and generosity! I've been a part of (at least lurked) a few android dev forums on XDA, and I think the Infuse dev section is probably the nicest and most friendly one I've encountered. This isn't just for the devs, but for everyone else - THANK YOU for your friendliness, helpful attitudes, willingness to post and answer questions! This is somewhat of a model for how other forums should treat its members and I'm glad I got to be a part of it.

Hmm... I didn't know the iPhone 5 was coming out this summer... Good thing I didn't use my upgrade to get the 4S today, just a craigslist trade. Lucky for me my upgrade is actually IN JUNE!

LMAO my upgrade's (my mom's initially) isn't until August of next year :O. Oh well, by then I will hopefully be steady learning in college .

Not gonna bash in anyone's options or choices ....but I came from an iPhone 4s ....don't get me wrong they're amazing phones...really good phones...amazing display camera apps etc...
But it lacks customization even jailbroken...which is I came back to Android ....but all is well that ends well so have fun with it and best regards

Have fun with it; that includes and IS limited to: one keyboard, one browser, one rom, one theme/icons set, one..er..no widgets or app drawer, one clock speed, 3G speeds, and timely updates/itunes. (can't totallly bash lol)
Regardless of how AT&T brands the 4S, its still 3G (Don't let the name confuse you as it has some of my friends)

Android is for ppl who like to change up their phone; when I get tired of looking at a certain set up, I change it and boom, its like a new phone. iOS is just a solid OS that's easy to use, that's what a lot of ppl want.

Well, Infuse community... it's been great helping others and being a part of this community. I recently had the chance to trade my loyal infuse for a Motorola Atrix HD, it's time to say the first real community I've been a part of.
Firstly, thank you to Scott, Andros, qkstr, and gtg. You and many others have made this a fantastic phone and an even better community.
Second, thank you to everyone that needed help in the q&a, as it gave me a chance to help people.
Lastly, thank you to everyone else that has made this phone one of the beat smart phones I've ever owned.

Had to smile when I read this. I just recently switched to an Infuse after two-plus years with an iPhone 3GS. I've upgraded the Infuse in several steps from stock to JB (Butter) with no problems whatsoever. I picked the Infuse in part because of the active community here on XDA, and my previous experience upgrading a Viewsonic G-Tablet with the help of the XDA community there. I am so glad to finally get Apple out of my life, especially the hated iTunes. As longtime Infuse users move on, at least one new user discovers it as something new and better than the phone they had before. Cheers.

I still have my infuse and several roms from the good friends in the XDA Infuse department. I have the SGS3 but kinda miss my ole buddy. Guess I can use it to mess around on. Thx to ask the Devs and community
