So once upon a time my USB storage on my skyrocket was filled to the brim with games all 10gb full. I flashed a new rom but it still says my USB storage is full however the game files should be gone and I checked and there not there. I try formatting the USB storage. Factory resetting trying different roms but the USB storage still says its full. This is problematic because it won't let me open certain apps. Does anyone no what the problem and or how to fix it?
Many thanks

Did you try formatting it from recovery using format emmc?
Format USB doesn't do a thing and factory reset doesn't wipe the USB storage.

I performed a Factory Reset / Wipe and was under the impression this cleared everything off the Xoom that I had added. Upon looking at the /mnt/sdcard folder I see folders of Apps that I had previously installed.
Question
Can the /mnt/sdcard be formatted ? If so how ?
Not super familiar with the whole file system setup so If this is a noob/stupid question could you please explain things for me.

There are two ways that I know of that I personally have done just in the last week or so. First you can unmount the SD card from the Xoom and place it in an Android Cell Phone, and go to settings/storage and from there unmount the card and click reformat SD card. Or you can hook the Xoom up via USB and clear it from within the PC/mac. Hope this helped.

Nope that would be for the micro USB card this is the /mint/sdcard which is part of the internal memory

The simplest way I know of is thru the Backup/Restore options in CWM, just doing the wipes won't do it. I use the Team Rogue version of CWM tho, i don't remember off hand if it can be done in the other recovery's (i.e. Rom Managers version or the one from solarnz that is most popular).
I just, personally, like the way the menus are laid out with Team Rogue's version and not having like a dozen No's with one Yes when confirming an action, nothing against the others.
Thanks guys I will try the Fastboot -w when at home and able to use it and Team Rogue's Recovery when at work.
Its been awhile but what is the option in Team Rogue recovery I dont see one to wipe the Internal data

I believe that its or in the Advance or Mount Storage options....
I'm trying to use odin to go back to stock that way i can do cleaner installs of other roms. The only problem is that when i plug my Phone in my computer in download mode my computer says "USB device not recognized". It's most likely my USB port or my computer. Anyways, i tried going to device properties and updating the drivers automatically but it doesn't find anything. Is there anything i can do to go back to stock or do i have to try another computer? I have another computer and my sisters have laptops but i'd rather not mess with any ones computer as i don't want to get blamed if they get a virus.

On the second post step 4 for When in CWM: says
When in CWM: "Go back and into Mount and Storage: format system, format data, format cache." will this erase all my pictures and music if so is this step necessary?
I keep my pics music on my ext sd card...but it will not format your inter or ext sd card that I do know. But you should copy all off your phone...i would....i just like the re assurance..
I keep everything on my ext sd card and i pop it out when i use this method...which i just did early today...

Those steps will not affect your sdcards. They are needed to ensure a clean install of the new rom. Make sure the new rom is copied to your internal sdcard before you boot recovery/cwm and perform these steps.

I wanna clean my phone and get a fresh rom install and I wanted to know is there effective way of cleaning the internal SD card from all the junk that accumulated over the time with a command or I'll have to do it manually?
I format emmc in cwm, that's how i do it before rom flashes.

I thought that was the way but I googled it and everything that came up said never to do it.
I just noticed in the settings>storage theres an option to format usb storage will that do the trick?
I wipe from recovery. Under mounts and storage I believe

You can factory data reset from settings, and you can format usb storage from settings.

I actually tried it said it formatted but nothing was missing from internal or external.
I used cwm emmc format, had troubles because installing from sd card didnt get passed the samsung logo even after downloading the rom again.
Had to do a nandroid and copy the installation to the internal and then flash.
Connect phone to PC
In CWM , mount USB storage...
When the phone storage is dispalyed on PC explorer , wipe everything you see (ctrl+a then del)
Do you have a PC ?
Actually I'm usually using my mac because it's nicer to do it from the bed. But I'll remember it for next time everything is already working great, well almost(see my other thread if interested).
If I go into CWM Touch and in mounts and storage. If I do format emmc, will that format and wipe my internal hard drive? I want to wipe my internal and have a clean drive.

to be honest after reading around recommendation s say not to do it however whenever im looking to get rid of my file i connect it to pc and format internal sd and have no issues so i dont see reason why format emmc with cwm or twrp would be any different

Don't do it! I read around and found that it is ok to do this, however it actually erased your internal 2gb. If you format this and reboot you will be stuck.

I'm on the most recent CWM (sk8's, anyway) and I've done this. I did it last night, actually. Here's what I did:
Copy everything from internal to my PC, then clean up what I didn't need on the PC copy.
Boot into Recovery, go to Mounts & Storage and mount /emmc, then format /emmc 3x (not necessary to do more than once, but just clearing everything off). Plug back into USB then go to Mounts & Storage > Mount USB Storage
Let the drivers install and let everything mount and come up, then copy my cleaned up backup back onto the internal memory, unmount everything unplug and reboot again. Everything worked for me.
I did the same thing for /sdcard (External SD).
I did it last night, phone runs much better and all the junk is off my phone.

can you provide a step by step how you formated your internal storage?
i need to do this for my internal storage is full and after eveything i did to empty it still stays full.
I might have to do this because my files are everywhere, and possibly to have a clean start. I'm backing things up, but if I wipe internal storage, will it give me an issue if I try to flash a rom and gapps?
I believe this will delete your recovery too so you will have to push your recovery back on to your phone using adb.

If you wipe data in twrp it wipes the internal card now.
Learned this the hard way that they fixed it. Thankfully I don't keep anything important on their and keep it on my external card.

I accidently wiped my internal storage on my S3 and don't have an SD card. Can I flash a new ROM using my PC? Or am I ****ed?

Yes, you can side load a ROM that's downloaded on your PC, or you can push a ROM to your internal storage with ADB. There's definitely a few guides on how to do it in this forum.

Yeah. Wiping and formatting your /system or any internal directories is lovely for a fresh and stable start... just need to have a ROM on your eternal SD card, haha. I've done this several time, forgetting about having a ROM to flash afterwards. LOL.
Just get an external card, have the ROM and flash it from there. Makes everything way easier!
