Wow, that's neat. I didn't know you could do that on the sgs2.
That's just goes to show you how the Infuse it's such a sucky POS.
I was able to silent the phone with a battery pull though.
I think the volume down button works too but I haven't tried it yet.
I have heard that if you found a certain feature on other Android device, and the said feature is important enough to you, you can try to get the source code for it. Compile it into Settings.apk, SystemUI, and framework or just rework the kernel and share it.
qk,
Pulling the battery is a lot of trouble- I always just let it get down to 0%.
Can confirm vol. down works- just can no longer hear my music.
These devices would be considerably cheaper if it were not for all the extra features - vol. down.... whose bright idea was that??? :silly:

Has anyone discovered a way to keep the screen on longer while on a call?
Is there any way to change this? If I missed another post on this I apologize. Thanks
You can use power manager in the Google Marketplace

One of the best 99 cent app I've ever purchased. Support the Dev, he just lost his job, and the app kicks ass.
Yeah, Power Manager has the option to a max of 2 minutes, but it has never worked for me, it always times out waaay earlier.

i use shake awake free app that causes your phone to turn back on if you move it a certain amount, you can ajust the sensitivity to howevver much you like. mine basically stays on if the phone moves at all while i am on a call
Awesome I will try these. Thanks for the responses.
Power manager doesn't change the timeout for the screen during calls. The only way to change that currently is using the shake program mentioned above. I use both programs and love both of them so when power manager doesn't help with the screen timeout during a call use it for all the other great benefits and select monitor so it can apply the different profiles (which you can customize) for all the situations.
I tired these apps they both seem to work pretty well, any ideas on how this could be done without using an app?

This app is seriously cool! Push to talk Walkie that functions with other Android phones that have the same app installed.

my friends and i have this and we "chirp" each other all the time. Especially fun to embarrass each other.
The volume is really low and that annoying noise when you press the icon to send a tikl is annoying.

I thought it was an innovate and fun app, but the chirp is slightly annoying. The volume is controlled by your media volume level.
Yeah my volume is up but maybe it was because I was tikl'ing my gf's phone right next to me.
i tried it between me and my brothers phone, we couldnt get it to ever connect :-\
Love the app... My brother and I are using it all the time while he is on vacation. Saves the trouble of calling or texting. I just wish it was cross platform so that all my iSlave friends could use it too...
On a business note, it's become a great selling point. I've had a few of my customers jump on the android bandwagon coming from Nextel to use this feature...
This one and chirp are good, both have some flaws and need updating but having PTT on android is brilliant

i couldnt for a while but i guess it was the way i was using it??? idk but i guess i was doing it wrong at first and now it works.
So this uses no minutes or sms its pretty much all data which is awesome
Does anyone know if this and Chirp have iPhone counterparts? My roommate has an iPhone, and we like random stuff like this and Knocking.
I know this has been asked before on specific kernels and bugs of sort but I am wondering if it's possible to go any lower on the brightness that we have. I have tried all the roms for the NS4G, rooted and stock. In the dark it's still too bright. I guess there could be worse things to have happen or complain about.

Your sig shows you on cm. Did you check the cm settings*display*automatic backlight*light levels*use custom*edit other levels . You can edit all levels of the backlight.
Also if using the miui rom in settings* display* advanced. Same options at cm7.
I have my lowest level at 14

Ok that is awesome thank you. I lowered it to 5. Now is this a filter or is the light really at 5%. I bet I can save some juice as I don't used it to surf at work and I read in the dark. Thanks again and thanks button hit.
Edit: Oh man, there can be up to 3000 levels set! Holy crap. Nice
Hi.
So i got an s6 from eBay.
It's not reacting to my touch. (it is, but with insane delay and barely!)
Couldn't figure this out.
Suddenly or occurred to me that something is fishy since home screen should not be organized like this (this is AFTER full reset!)
(why would twitter be inside a folder named Google?)
Also looks to be non-stock.
Here's a pic.
Can anyone tell me what am I dealing with here?
Does not seem to be running the usual Samsung rom.
Was this device tinkered with?
Also see video here:

Thank you!

Is it a real S6?
Theres a thread in the General section about how to try and spot a fake S6.
that article mentions the fake ones are running droid 4.x, but thats not to say they haven't mucked with the version number on it.

Since you bought off eBay. Did you pay via paypal?
Just lodge a claim against them for selling a fake item.
Make sure and screenshot the ebay listing as well
Yes I will definitely file a claim. Thank you.
Everyone else - BE WARNED!!!
My advice:
Turn off phone.
Press and hold power button + volume down button.
Hello,
Did anyone find how to put Attentive display or an equivalent in Cyanogenmod 13 ?

This feature, available on stock, keeps the screen awake while we're looking at it, and it uses the IR sensors to be battery efficient. That's why I was looking for this app.
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

Previously this feature called "User Aware Display" was in CM12.1 (Lollipop) for Quark but was removed by the dev as it stayed on even when it shouldn't.

And as you know the most recent snapshot works well -- except no "user aware display", which I miss also.

The reason I removed user aware display was lack of stability of the feature (would keep the display on persistently in unwanted cases).

Okay. It's sad to hear but not a big deal. I miss this one but the other Motorola features work surprisingly well in Cyanogenmod.
That's all I wanted to know, thank you very much !
still there on RR:
Yeah, I saw that ! I would like to know if it's stable. Because I guess that if it was the case, it would be merged back into CyanogenMod...
The straight way would be to test myself, but I don't have time for now and I don't know how to reproduce the bug !
If someone has some information, feel free to post about it...
Cheers

It works. I dont like it because it stays on if something is in front of it. For example i threw a shirt on my phone and it stayed on. My solution for that is increase the screen on time to 2 minutes.
