Doesn't get much easier than Noxious Ninjas script. You just follow the directions and it's just a command prompt script like Moto phones. Plus you don't have to flash anything in Odin if that kind of stuff scares you.

Sorry.

Yeah I have to say noxious ninjas script as well. It's extremely simple and I don't really see how there could be any kind of risk to your phone. Plus you don't lose your data.

This is the easiest around. Just rooted today.

yeah I would feel more comfortable with the script rather then using odin to flash something

If I'm not wrong you have to use heimdall cli and do the command heimdall flash --kernel boot.img --verbose
But if you've never done it I say wait and do it in windows with Odin

[I727R] UCLE2 Tar

Hey okay so I really want to do a clean install of ICS but as a rogers user the one click just won't work for me. What I was wondering is if the tar by romracer is any different? Is there anybody who has tried this or will this for sure brick me? Any input or help would be great Thanks
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
I think that tar would work since its not the one click.
Hmmmm that makes it very tempting I just can't risk a hard brick as I have no access to a JTAG box :/ I was just wondering if any other rogers users have tried it ?

Ya I guesss I have an itch to flash and risk it all
Edit: mindmajick, because you get a cleaner install of everything when you do it through odin/hemidal i believe at least

"My bad" I read it to fast, with all the excitment about the bootloader being unlocked i assumed thats what the OP ment.
So I'm not very savvy on the programming side of things but if I hold off is it possible for a 1 click root / boot unlock combo program

section 1 of my guide is the closest your going to get for a 1 click program...there is no programming needed. Download 3 files, open causual, plug in device, make sure it says device connected, choose debugFSroot, do it! If thats too hard then modding your device may not be in your best interest.
Not hard at all in just asking I've been modding for roughly 3 years so little snide comments like that really aren't necessary thanks

[Q] I need the stock firmware, and I'm confused with what I found.

So I hard bricked my S3. I've been following a tutorial to fix it.
I couldn't find a download for the stock Verizon firmware, but then I found a list of downloads on "StockROMS.net" I can't link it... Sorry.
Which one do I pick? I hope this isn't a stupid question... I've never had to do this before.

Hold on a second.
Before you flash anything tell us what version you were running. No reason to lock your bootloader if you weren't on 4.3.

Nope. The tutorial that I found on YouTube involved a 16 gig class 10 micro SD card. The thing is I don't have one yet. So I've been downloading all the files I need so when I get one I'll be ready.

Yea I kind of jump the gun and assumed you were on 4.3. That is a stock 4.3 firmware file. If you flash it, it will lock your boot loader.
