[Resolved] HTC Sense force close Energy ROM

I am getting random HTC Sense force closes in Energy ROM. Is anyone else getting this? Does anyone know of a fix? I have tried clearing data in Settings-Applications-HTC Sense. I have also factroy reset, cleared davlik and reinstalled. I really love this ROM and I would like to keep using it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

It's good to know I'm not alone. I have read some of the details in one of your previous threads and someone advised to ensure all apps are on internal phone memory (noted that this was an ICS fix). I thought I would give it a try and I haven't had any HTC Sense FC's since although it is early days. I will keep you posted.

I have superwiped and reinstalled. I am fairly certain the issue is caused by one of my apps. I am installing the apps a couple at a time. I will let you know if i find the culprit. No force closes yet.

I think I have found the culprit. I was using an auto rotate switch which was bound to my search key. When the HTC sense FC's occurred I would get a process called "nobody" asking for root permissions. The icon in superuser which was associated with "nobody" was auto rotate. Since removing auto rotate switch I haven't had any FC's. I will leave it as is for the next couple of days and report back.

I just got another HTC Sense FC when using LinkedIn. Once again "nobody" asked for permissions althouth the icon associated with nobody has changed to the notes icon. I just got another HTC Sense FC when typing my response.

On my last HTC Sense FC the "Nobody" icon was HTC Sense. The last FC seems to have broken message links to profile pictures.
Does anyone know how to fix the message issue?
I initially didn't allow "nobody" to have SU access because it hadn't resolved the issue for me in the past. I have now granted it SU.

I believe this issue was caused by the keyboard I was using (TouchPal). Since removing this I haven't had an FC in 24 hours. Before removing the keyboard I was experiencing at least 4 FC's a day. As this issue was occurring randomly using any app I came to the conclusion that it must have been caused by a service. I will not consider this issue to be resolved for another 24 hours as I had incorrectly thought I had found the culprit before.
I hope this thread helps other people that may be experiencing this issue.

Thanks for drawing my attention to your thread : ) I searched a few weeks ago but at that time the only other person talking about it thought it had something to do with a language pack they had flashed - that just didn't apply to me.
I wonder if the keyboard is a common denominator between our experiences. I'm using HTC's IME, but Michaelm007's version with arrows and trace input in search fields enabled. So maybe that's it? I'm reluctant to stop using it so I'll try and eliminate other stuff first.
So far I haven't had a force close or 'nobody' SU request since avoiding playing any music or using a file explorer. For a while I thought it was Dice player so maybe accessing the SD card is a factor. Just guessing....

No worries Ouzo, the key to resolving my issue was focusing on ongoing services. Don't rule out other non standard services as it may not be your keyboard.

Go to recovery-advanced-permissions and check it maybe ur problem will solved.

I actually got another HTC Sense FC today so it seems I still have the problem. Although after removing the keyboard it has become less frequent. I have completed fix permissions on several occasions using ClockworkMod ROM manager. I will try from recovery.

It seems I haven't been able to resolve the issue. I have updated my firmware and radio to the below. I have superwiped and reinstalled from scratch. I am getting approximately 1 HTC Sense FC a day I generally follow each FC with a fix permissions in recovery. I should also note that it is not only EnergyROM that is affected. I have also tried InsertCoin and it suffers the same issues. If anyone has any other ideas feel free to reply

I haven't had a HTC Sense FC in 48 hours. I have completed the following tasks which may have solved the issue.
1) Cleaned up SD Card by removing images and music then formating I then copied images and music back to the SD Card(most likely resolution as there was old android data from my previous phone HTC Desire)
2) Updated recovery to 4ext and fixed permissions. (I don't think it was the new recovery that resolved the issue but you never know. I had completed fix permissions in cwm recovery several times before.)
If I don't get another HTC Sense FC in 24 hours I will consider this issue resolved.

I kind of feel like I am talking to myself but I hope that this thread may help someone.
I have been able to replicate the issue. Several minutes after I added android photo widgets a HTC Sense FC occurred. I am using a Patriot class 10 SDcard and I have had FC issues with my previous phone (HTC Desire) when using CM7. I guess it is possible that my SDCard is part of the issue.
I think that there may be a different cause of this issue for every person experiencing it. As stated in my previous post I will be marking this thread as resolved tonight.

Bootloops on my sensation. and also the china one also is bootlooping. They are trying to correct that problem.

Have they fix it? i got a boot loop either

I'm running the miui.com (China) version without bootloops. The ones that bootloop are miuiandriod and miui.us versions. Also just check the MD5 checksum because sometimes their servers lets you download an incomplete file.. (Happend twice for me).

OK, I'm downloading miui.us version and try to flash it. Will report back.
edit. Ok so miui.us version bootlooping. Will try miuiandroid.com now.

I'm running 2.4.20 without issues. I flashed over the previous version without an issue with just a dalvik wipe. I am using the miuiandroid version that was posted yesterday.
The only issue I came across was that sometimes the phone force reboots when trying to open/close windows repeatedly (see hitting back 2 or 3 times). Also the contacts for me seemed to duplicate. For that I just cleared my contacts and contacts storage data, then open up the accounts and sync and sync the contacts.

miui.com version has no bootloops.
miuiandroid.com removes some chinese apps and reproduce the version, i think they made sth wrong this week.
I want to ask a question,
does anyone knows a way to add beats audio for miui v4?

The official MIUI 2.4.13 had beats, I haven't checked 2.4.20 though...

2.40.20 works fine if you flash it over 2.40.13 w/o a wipe. Just wipe dalvik.
I must say it's very fast with sebastian kernel and launcher lag is gone.

As it is based on the official HTC Sense Ics release, beats and HTC keyboard are used.
Try out the bricked kernel, it is awesome especially when it comes to battery life.

You need to flash 2.4.13 and then 2.4.30 over it without a wipe.

Yep, sense 4 comes with ics...

Hey tested and installed perfectly fine but i only have wifi on this phone and that just gets an error when starting I already rebooted the phone and same issue.
Have seen Roms in far worst states then this. Ie HTC stock gallery is working, unlock speed is amazing, music volume is really low as stated before but doesnt really cause much slow down on unlock or use.
Ill test out more once the wifi is working im just kinda dead in the water with out that....
But regardless def worth trying it out ISC and sense 4.0 are awesome Awesome work

It would work with stock hboot but then you'd have plenty of free space wasted in the system partition since the installer wouldn't install more files on there. There's pretty much no point using stock hboot if it doesn't take advantage of it though.

like i said, it doesnt support stock hboot yet because of the aroma setup doesnt support it. have a look for urself

Could you please provide us another mirror link? Something like 4shared or Mediafire? Would be great as I downloaded to 99% from dev-host and the downloading failed... Otherwise thats something great to be seen, I didnt expect to see any more Sense 4 ports. Hope nonamer does that 3.0 kernel so we will have something very innovative as development.

Have you tried GENTLY lifting the 2 gold pins just above the camera lens?

I lifted the two pins (though i think wifi turns on even without battery cover)
Radio:11.24A
Hboot: 1.27..
S-off: yes
Bootloader unlk: yes
Firmware: latest 3.33
Rom: MIUI JB (But i tried arhd,cm9, miui ics sense based - all with full wipes of everything)

i have the same problems, do you have wifi mac adrres?
if you dont have its may be hardware probleme..

Mac and Bluetooth unavailable

And you really do not want to post your imei and serial number on a public forum.

I did just for the hell of it, but my wifi doesn't even turn on so its nothing to do with my router it didn't work in Barnes and noble either

bootloader unlocked as in unlocked ? or you have revolutionary/juopunutbear hboot
if the case is Unlocked ..then relock the bootloader ..then flash 3.33 universal firmware and then reflash whaever RM you are having without wipe ...if you are using 4EXT recovery ..make sure you have smartflash DISABLED (4EXT->tools) if enabled then disable it and then flash the rom

Flash a proper ruu.. Then check the wifi.. Flashing ruu should solve it.. If it's not then might be hardware issue

Links seem to be very slow. IDK if its just for me or for everybody else. It is just giving over 5 kbps (i usually get 1Mbps+ on dev-hst).

RUU - rom update utility
Basically the official roms that are on your phone when you buy it, they can be used to return your phone to stock.

you have the latest one available

do i flash it via 4ext ??? im s-on 1.27
currently on arhd 7.3
but i wish to go back to stock
please give me some pointers

ruu can't be flashed from recovery
just relock the bootloader and use the ruu which corresponds with your region(same firmware or higher) and cid
connect the device via usb in fastboot mode and just run the ruu.exe from pc

I read in Wikipedia that our device shipped with sense 4.0
Where can I get that ruu or Rom stock one ?

leaving Sensation owners with Sense 3.6 (when they update to ICS), as opposed to getting Sense 4.0
if you mean that then it doesn't say that it will take sense 4

link has been fixed. looks like the redirect from the owners old domain/server was messed up.

Is the gaming performance better on stock or worse? I never used stock had it rooted and custom rom installed from day 1.

Sense 5 its pretty good with gaming, smooth, and I believe stock won't be as good BC it will have an outdated kernel
