If you are not using a CUSTOM Rom that is cooked in the kitchen, then please make sure you have checked the original settings>Location & security>Set unlock pattern and then connect the dots. This option is not normally changed even on custom roms (at least not the ones found on this site!)
Thanks but I wasn't looking for this "dot" lockscreen (which I know) but for the original Android lockscreen that was removed by Samsung.
This original Android lockscreen is with 2 buttons :
- The left one that unlocks the screen when you slide it to the right
- The right one that mutes the phone when you slide it to the left
even i want the same thing. Touchwiz is not good. No luck at all. I am using kyriloss' rom. Someone help!

I recently bricked my I9000 after trying to install the Android lockscreen made for XWJS3 ROM on my XWJS5 ROM...
So I won't risk to face the same trouble and rather look for an Android lockscreen made for I5801BVJP9...

Curious...
You can't brick your phone by replacing android.policy.odex
Your phone could be stuck at boot animation...
if it's the case and if you're not reboot, you can use ADB to push your android.policy.odex you have backuped.
if not, you've just to reflash your phone.
I could unbrick my I9000 by reflashing the ROM but I don't want to do the same on my father's I5801 ;-) that's why I'm looking for the right file...

I HAVE created a custom theme in UOT Kitchen (including modifying the lockscreen icons) now I want the original green round icons back... i've been searching everywhere with no luck. Is this possible without an app?
Can I modify a file, download an .APK, etc?
While I'm on the subject... can I change the background to just a flat black?
Is there any way that we can get that android lock work on different stock ROMS?????
I want it too for my DDJP6 ROM....

this is not the solution we are looking for.
we want the lockscreen mod for stock ROM....
and Kyrillos is not a STOCK ROM....
then you can go for widget locker which is available on the market...
Thank you

I thought some of you might like to have the ARC look on your custom rom (like me) and i just feel like sharing something to the community.
so i've managed to edit some apk files and here you go.
This should work on any CM 6 rom and freex10 rom.
just flash this file with xRecovery and enjoy! ( I hope)
http://www.mediafire.com/?8zvb17gcmbsrqev
This will affect:
browser.apk - The exact same look as the ARC browser
calculator.apk - icon only
calendar.apk - The exact same look (not sure)
camera.apk - icon only
contacts.apk - credit to Wolfbreak, I only changed the contact picture (android) to ARC contact picture
deskclock.apk - The round clock widget. The exact same look.
email.apk - Everything except for the background, I will be really appreciated if some-one will tell me how to change it.
gallery3d.apk - the exact same look.
mms.apk - messaging, i only changed contact pic and icon, credit goes to Wolfbreak
music.apk - icon and widget, ARC style
settings.apk - power control widget has the exact same look as ARC. However, i didnt change settings icons because i don't have Cyanogen Setting Icon that looks "ARC" enough
cheers!
For anyone using Wolfbreak CM 6.1.3 V05 don't download this just yet. I'm gonna update my post and upload a new file.
Good work! I like it. Will include it in new Version of my ROM if you dont mind.
Great mode buddy, cheers!

Quick question bud, Im using CM 6.1.3 right now, when your new version is available, will it be a completely new ROM or just an update that we could flash with xRec?

hmmm...
have you tried to remove gallery3d.apk from your: system\app\ (using "RootExplorer") and tried flashing the gallery again?
That might work
If you haven't and want to try this it's better if you back up the original file first.
hope this helps =]
Yeah most of them work great on my FreeX10 Beta4!
Just some minor problems don't if it is my problem.
calendar - turn white and show nothing (see attachement)
setting - when pressing CyanogenMod settings, face (The application Setting (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly.) Is it because I havn't install CyanogenMod Setting?
It's because the files are for CM 6.1.3 ROM. FreeX10 doesn't have CM settings as it's AOSP built.
i flashed it on my wolfbreak rom (newest version) but now my settings menu is black and the camera app is still the same, only the icons changed
Thanks mate! Great work!

The camara app only has the ARC camera icon, nothing so fancy about that.
Have you managed to fix that problem? The power control widget really has a nice ARC look.
Have you tried flashing only settings.apk again?
how do you get the arc status bar? mine is only the stock white 2.2 look
I use Wolfbreak's rom

in case that doesn't work just open Freex10 framework-res.apk with winrar or sth
look for folder "drawable-hdpi" and "drawable-land-hdpi" u need to replace these two folders with Wolfbreak's framework.
Thanks, Will try this.
Edit: After Installing this, the Contacts are modified, Now I'm not getting (A,B,C...) buttons in the Contacts for Search and also the Interface of Contacts has gone back to default froyo 2.2 screen (Like 4.5 version of wolfbreak rom).

For LRG rom I'm using the deodexed version posted by Itsme_4ucz in the following thread (post #29):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646835&page=3
You need to remove or rename the original .apk and .odex files before moving the new one in, then restart before adding widget to homescreen.

Where are the .odex files located?
This is transparent widget for non root user/ find difficulties to mod
This one won't replace with stock, but just add another widget.
Simply install from play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...5kcm9pZDI3LnRyYW5zcGFyZW50Y2xvY2t3ZWF0aGVyIl0.
Here's a apk for a 100% transparent accuweather widget. It still has the animations cloud, rain, sun and star effects so that's pretty neat. I'm pretty sure you have to be rooted to install this but then again I never tried installing it unrooted. I used ES file Explorer to install the apk into device/system/apps. Make sure to make a copy of your stock accuweather and odex file before you delete them just incase you don't like the transparent widget. Delete the stock accuweather widget and odex then replace it with the transparent accuweather apk in system apps then reboot. After reboot you will have to go back into your widgets and pull the new transparent widget back to a main page. I've never tried having the stock apk installer install the app so I don't think I would try that unless you don't mind resetting up your phone if it doesn't work. Install this at your own risk and I'm not responsible if you mess up your phone.
Big thanks to jovy23 for this. link to main page for this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470702

Did you remove the original accuwather2013 apk and odex files?
This zip I believe is for deodexed rom so if your rom still odex,
go to system/app/accuweather2013.odex, delete it.
and delete it
Just in case anyone is wondering. Yes you can flash this with ss. Just don't reboot just power the phone off and back on to avoid issues

Hey guys and gals, I was sick of looking at the stock App Drawer Icon in the OPT's stock launcher so I changed it to one more appealing. If anyone wants a specific Icon to replace the stock one, just send it to me and I will modify the install script. I will attach a screenshot of the app drawer icon in action as well as the install script.
To install, just download the attached file, place file in your downloads directory and flash in recovery (after you create an nandroid backup). This will only change the app drawer icon.
Please let me know if you have any problems with the install or if the icon didn't install properly.
I got this icon from https://cdn-images.xda-developers.com/direct/1/9/6/2/3/1/3/AppDrawer.png
Thanks

Look for an Xposed module called "Flat Style Bar Indicators". With this Xposed application, you have the ability to change all status bar indicators.

Hey @ripv2 , I was just curious as to how you achieve doing this? I am curious as I would like to bodge together my own way of doing this, so I am able to help further my knowledge of android programming.
Thanks.
This isn't really Android programming, I would suggest getting some experience with apktool first, to learn how to decompile and recompile and sign apks.
