How to improve battery life on sensation - HTC Sensation

How do I improve my sensation battery life do that I will not be charging it every 2hrs and how do I improve the graphics so that it can play 3D games without stress
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda app-developers app

reduce the LCD brightness, turn off wifi/gps, switch to gsm (instead wcdma) network

Buy a long lasting battery it also helps a lot...I use Anker. It's made a big difference.

Get a custom rom with bricked kernel 1.4, saves cpu and battery. No need to improve graphics, cause the graphics is all ready pretty good. I play asphalt 6 without hickups. Sense o maniac has rom with aroma installer where you can choose to overclock graphics.
HTC Sensation z710e
ICS 4.0.3
Sense version 4.0
Software Sense-o-maniac v1.4
Kernel. 3.0.30 Bricked v1.4
Radio 11.68.3504

Ok thank you guys for your contributions I will try it

There is no best kernel, only one that is best for you may not be best for somebody else.
Try faux or bricked and to save battery life, get something like system tuner pro from market. Undervolt and underclock the CPU then change its governor to maybe conservative for screen on and power save for screen off. Also in screen off mode change the max frequency of the CPU to a low value

Sensation overheat issue

Hi I'm kinda new with this phone here when I playing game on this phone about 5 min the phone is getting very hot. Does any method that can fix this overheat issue?
Phone specs:
sensation 4g T-Mobile
Android 4.0 sense 3.6 (ARHD 6.6.7 XE)
s-off with revolutionary
Battery 1900 mAh

Hot...yes, overheat... no. Try slowing down your processor when playing games and go into developer options via setting ( can't remember if it's in ginger bread) and check force gpu. Also reduce the amount of apps running when your going to play games for a while. There isn't a fix for that but this should help.

try new bricked kernel. i had also over heat before. but now less. u can give a shot.
I put a ice cube under the phone while watching a movie, but i don't think you can do it on hardcore games like nova.

you can also turn off the capacitive button backlight. from my experience, the lit up buttons really heat the phone up a lot(only around the button area) while the rest of the phone is at normal temp including the battery.
turn off capacitive button backlight, just a thought
What bricked kernel DoD you flash that helped.

Undervoltage?

Hi guyz, Im pretty new to these kernel stuff and I was wondering how undervoltage works? I running ele 2.5.0 rom with bricked kernel 1.4 and I get really bad battery life and I was wondering if undervoltage would help a bit? I have bought System Tuner pro tool. Ps : I have tried faux wich was horrible and sebastian which was pretty descend but still bricked has been best for me from GB times, and worked really good on early ARHD Ics roms.

It should increase battery life but how much is dependent on your phone. I think under volt works by decreasing the amount of voltage the phone uses from the battery but I might be wrong.

Its chip individal structure how much you can uv without loosing stability, check there is a good uv mode in dev section, I've raed that voltage steps in system tuner are not appropriate for sensation chip. IMO Uv dont make such diffrence. After travel trough many kernels both in gb/ics i reverted to stoc coz it has best stabilty fastest sleep and good battery time and i returned to hypernonsense its awsome likeAOSP rom (htc based version)

Very short battery life

Hi guys, I have sensation xe with elegancia rom sense 3.6 and sebastiqn kernel 1.5.2.
Stock battery 1730mah.
My battery life are very short, I need to charge the device 2-3 times a day.
When I'm not using the phone, screen off and no running apps I'm losing almost 10% per hour.
Any solutions instead of buying new battery?

I suspect something is keeping your phone awake. Mind if you post your battery graph?

Yep, check wich application is draining your battery under Settings -> Alimentation -> Use
And to improve your battery life, disable wifi/3G if not used.
I suspect its the google chrome, I used it for maybe 5 minutes today and it says that it used 5% battery, is that reasonble? Cuz there is another app that used 5% and I used it much more than chrome.

Thats might be something with the kernel? Maybe something wrong with the power managment?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda app-developers app
Also try an other kernel, or if your battery life was good with olders Sebastian's kernels, keep using them.
I has very bad battery-Life Ehen using arhd. I then flashed faux Kernel.
If Sebastian-Kernel allows it, try to stay @ stock CPU-clock, and try undervoltage
I use 1.2 GHz, and - 50mV
Maybe this helps you

Hi,
Try using faux with intellidemand governor.
What are you normally doing when your phone gets hot?
I'm normally on YouTube and the battery drains quick the CPU temp stays at 48 degrees crlicus

I always found I'd get random reboots and overheating with my phone, no matter the ROM. So I underclocked it, which actually seemed to make things worse. What actually solved the problem was securing the battery with something like a piece of card. Seems that a lot of Sensations had batteries which didn't quite contact the battery correctly, so when it needed a large spike in power (waking, opening apps, some transitions etc) it'd shut off to prevent a power surge. You might want to see if it makes a difference. You'd think with such a high quality design and materials they'd get the basics right....

Up to 70°C-75° is safe and normal when gaming; if you go above that (ex: near 100°C) then the SOC can be permanently damaged.
