[Q] AT&T HTC One X Price Drop - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Okay, so I got an AT&T HTC One X on June 12 (almost two months ago).
I recently heard about the price drop down to $99.99 when I got it for $199.99!
Has anyone successfully gotten their $100 back?

Why would they give you your 100 bucks back? Prices drop over time...everyone knows that lol

Would've been ok if within 30 days. Not 60.

I was just kinda hoping...
You'd think they would do SOMETHING to people who payed full price.
Like Nintendo's 3DS. I got it full price and they gave me twenty free downloadable games when the price dropped...
Oh well, thanks anyways...

That would be a horrible business plan if they did that

Some credit card companies offer price protection for 60 days but it comes with loads of fine prints. Call yours and ask.

call ATT and ask them. They may feel nice and credit your account for $100. They just waived my upgrade fee over the phone today so you never know. Good luck!

I bought mine less than a week before the price drop, and I went back to the store I got it from (AT&T corp store) and they refunded me the difference. 60 days out is kind of a stretch, but if you got it from a brick & mortar store it's worth a shot.

Cheapest out of contract price?

Just sold my iPhone a good hefty amount Wheres the best place to get out of contract pricing? 400 isnt much, but I've heard of people getting it for 300? Anyone know where?
Also, my two year ends 02/26/2011, do I qualify for the upgrade pricing from Costco which is 79.99 or do I have to wait until that date?
Alex
Yeah, go to Costco and ask them if you qualify for the early upgrade right now. If not, wait until the 26th... its a great price. ($79) I tried yesterday but they turned me down for an early upgrade, told me to go to the corporate store, and I can get it there. Try your luck!
Would love to know where I can buy one online at a reasonable price with no service contract.
att.com don't sell them without a service contract so that is out
AT&T stores have it retailed for 399.99 without commitment. They probably need more than a few in stock to sell it to you but that's the cheapest I have seen.
Just got mine today from ATT off contract $399 seems to be the cheapest right now anywhere. Seems kinda odd that they wouldn't sell u one.

Seen eBay prices as low as $320. Could probably dip below $300 in a week. I trust eBay more than say, small obscure handset websites, because I've never had a problem bidding on a phone and getting what I wanted in a timely manner, but when it came to an actual online retailer, they would give me the run-around on shipping or send me a defective product.
sometimes http://www.wirefly.com has good deals on early upgrades.
Just got mine at BB for 324 plus tax. That was no contract price.
I got a pretty good early upgrade yesterday.
I have 2 lines, 1 shows ready for upgrade and the other addon line shows eligible on 4/24/11. Contract is up in August.
I went to a corporate store and they said 99 for the normal upgrade and 399 for the other.
I went home and called customer service and got the same story.
I then asked them what charges I would have if I cancel my account early.
They told me and after a couple of min. they gave me the retention rep.
Ended up getting 2 new Inspires, free shipping, for 79.99 each!

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.
Att store used an early upgrade for a non data enabled line for us and it was $300 and put on the data enabled line for me, but then i gave it to my wife. THEN the data stopped working for her line and we had to call and explain because there was something that needed to be enabled on her line for the 4g phone, EVEN though att was out of the 4g cards. So we have to go back to the store to get the 4g card i was supposed to get, but going to get for her line now.
Untill i buy another one. Maybe today. But that will probably be the full 400 price. Ill check bestbuy store see if its cheaper

He's a cashier there, haha. Kidding, but seriously, the BestBuy POS doesn't allow it to be rung up at that cost.

Inspire $49.99 @ RS

Went to Radio Shack today to buy an Inspire case. The guy asked me what I paid for the phone - $99.99 of course. He said they had it for $49.99 through today.
I had seen that earlier in the week but assumed it was a misprint. It wasn't!
So I headed over to Bestbuy where I bought mine two weeks ago, armed with a RS ad & my rewards card and got 50 bucks refunded. No questions asked.
And to think a guy at Radio Shack told me go do it.
Don't know if it's nationwide, but maybe this will help someone.
Wow...I got my Inspire from bestbuy as well. So I can get an ad from radio shack and take it to bestbuy and they'll refund me $50?
I got mine at radio shack like 2 weeks ago for 99.99 and i just brought my receipt back and got my 50 dollars back from them dropping the price, i love price guarantees
You guys are talking about 49.99 with an upgrade right? Because I'm going to be buying an inspire for 300 bucks (1 year discount at AT&T store, factored from renewal price + 200 dollars) and was wondering if maybe radio shack could get me a phone for 249 instead of the 300 with the deal.
Any idea with radio shack does 1 year discounts? And also is the 49 dollars only today, because if so just disregard this post :3
will this only work today? cuz i dont have time to go today and are the ads online or do u actually have to go to one?
Does anyone know if ATT would do a refund if I brought the ad in?
I do not think ATT will match rs price

Are you allowed to say what exactly the deal is?
Starting Sunday bring in your old phone and trade it in to get the Inspire for fifty bucks at RadioShack. Any phone that works will get you the fifty dollar trade in credit towards the phone.

Staples has been selling the Inspire for $49.99 w/new contract or upgrade.
I got mine from radio shack 3 days ago for $49.99 as an upgrade straight. I know about the trade in phone, that deal was two weeks ago, $99.99 but if you bring a working phone its $50.00 instant off. I liked last weeks deal $49.99 new 2 yr contract or upgrade, total $53.53 and it took 15 mins, opposed to ATT $99.99 for an hour of BS. Thanks RS!
I got mine at Amazon for 69.99+ no tax - $35 refund for late 4G sim card delivery
For the phone trade-in, is their a specification on which phone? Or could I buy one of the $20 go phones and then trade that in?
Yes thats what i did for one, bought 15$ throwaway and traded it in. The recycle is good on any phone i believe. Gotta call bull**** on a couple of these posts, everyone wants to claim the best deal. How it werked for me was 99 dollar phone - 50 credit PLUS tax on radio shacks price for the phone... (almost $50.00) then att matches the 50.00 rebate.....
Mine came out to.67.00$.... maybe this bull**** tax.thing.is only in cali?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I would have to say that it is only in Cali because I just sold one from my RadioShack and it came to 54 and change after tax and trade in.

Let us know if it works, Ill do the same thing then
just came back from walmart and yes they priced match with no issues and no restock fee.. did not know about the cotsco deal , smh.. o well. truthfully i do not think they match wholesale outlets anyway.. maybe sams would.
Just came from Walmart.
After showing Costco Membership card, they matched the price to $499 and I did an exchange due to a dead pixel in my first phone...
darn, good job... congrats
by the way my new phone will not sound upon notification.. a text for example.. it rings fine when someone calls me . but texts stay silent.. any ideas?
Huh, i'm a Costco member, and I didn't know they were selling the Sensation so low.
I hate contracts (and am on TMo with a Nokia on Even More +). But, i was going to go for hte contract by stacking the SENSATION50 code with Saturday's Father's Day promo. That's $170 savings.
Even More + (off contract) will only save me $15 a month = $360. Add the cost of the phone upfront, and I am at break even.
Might as well not spend $500 today. Unless, of course, I need to break the contract, then i would be $200 down by going with the contract.
Decisions, decisions....
So do I need an actual print ad from T-Mobile when I go to walmart? Or will they honor online prices?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4g with extreme prejudice
Just price matched the costco price at my walmart. The cs manager was skeptical but they did it anyway because costco doesn't have a paper ad.

When they asked me I told them I didn't have one. If there was a problem to just refund me the money and I will just go tmo and buy another. Transaction completed. Lol

Thanks no-vowel guy!
I would have never thought to check the ads for sales (just not a habit of mine) but due to a glitch in their registers, I received my $50, plus the sales tax my People's Republic of Kalifornien charged me, PLUS the sales tax on the actual $199 I had previously paid. Walked out with $79 and change for reading your post.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Lol I paid 109 for mine. They price matched frys for me

Just got mine!

First and foremost, let me wish everyone a happy One S day in the states!
Picked mine up upon waking up. $178 out the door!
It was shown to be available for $250, before tax. Plus T-Mobile is running its magenta day deal right now, $100 off on any Android trade in. So I got $100 for my mytouch 3g. Plus on top of it, I still have a $50 rebate to send it. So my total will be $128 when all is said and done. Not bad.
Great phone so far! Can't wait for an AOSP rom, Not a fan of SENSE just as I was not a fan of Moto's crap intergrated UI as well.

Wait, Magenta Day deal? I haven't heard of this... Is this a local thing?
EDIT: Also, congrats on the new phone!
Magenta Days
Running it in the Minneapolis MN area as well. Paid out right for mine though (grandfathered into even more plus)
Got the Magenta Days thing going on here in KC as well but I was ~$291 out the door because the trade in was a $100 mail in as well so after that and the $50 mail in will be $141 including taxes, upgrade fee; etc.

Noticing one thing. On bright backgrounds I'm getting a wavy type effect. Best example is open the Play Store and go to My Apps. The grey screen as it is loading shows the wavy lines. Anyone else seeing it?
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2.
Cool, hopefully they will have that in my area (Salt Lake City, UT).
Is it a mail in rebate for everyone?
On the magenta deal day you get $50 trade in for normal phones, $100 for smartphones, and $200 for ANY iPhone. (must be working, no water damage, and no cracked screen)
I bought mine from T-mobile outright. Is the trade-in deal only on new lines of service? If not I am taking my old MT4G back and getting a rebate!
I found this link: http://www.tmonews.com/2012/04/dont-forget-about-magenta-deal-days-and-trade-up-to-a-new-smartphone/
The wording does say "back" so I'm assuming it is strictly a mail in rebate.

So you got the $100 trade in in-store? They did all the trade in forms for me and packed my old phone but I have to wait for the $100 rebate just like the other one.
And is no one else seeing the "wavy" lines thing I asked about earlier in this thread?

I have an upgrade available for one of my lines as well. I'm hoping to get this phone over the weekend. How much did it come out to?
W00t - got mine tonight
Trade in deal or Magenta, is a pretty sweet deal. It is a mail in rebate here in San Diego but the catch (for us not them) is it does not have to be a phone currently enrolled in a plan. I am an existing customer only about 8 months into my 2 year contract with an HTC Sensy. I have an old original iPhone laying around and they are offering $200 for iPhones!! they took it its worth like $50...maybe. $246 out the door and the mail in is on its way. $46 upgrade all said and done.
