I have a galaxy s2 that I tried rooting, it sorta worked then it did not. So I followed the instruction to put it back to stock with gingerbread .uckh7,
kernal version 2.6.35.7
The phone seems to work fine. The issue is I cannot put it back to ics which is where it was, I tried reloading Kies, I tried just using the update. Nothing. And the phone now seems to once in awhile go into airplane mode by itself, or to restart itsself.
I would love to root my phone, and have it work well. I know enough about computers to be dangerous I am sure. But baring that I would just like to be able to have it back to where it was.

I rooted my phone with superoneclick. Now I have several apps that ran before but now will start but then get stuck. I unrooted which didn't help, then reset to factory defaults and that didn't help either. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the apps as well. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Could try going back to stock with any of these treads, they are pre-rooted so you wont have to soc root them.. even when soc rooting has never made me any trouble...

Remember to flash via BACK usb ports or you can probably fail at flashing from a front port if the usb overpowers(or something like that)
Relax is practically impossible to brick the Infuse just need to reflash using a back usb port for safety.

I am having issues getting Kies to update my rooting and rommed phone to gingerbread. The reason I want stock gingerbread is because most of the ROMS out there now for cappy are sluggish and battery isn't good. Here are the things i've tried
1. Tried going back to stock with odin
2. Tried to download kies using united kingdom method
3. Download mode
4. Debugging mode
Every time I get "device cannot be upgraded" I have tried to search the forums and I have tried everything I see that is relevant. Still no go. Without an "official" stock gingerbread odin, this is pretty frustrating. I would love a Cognition build for gingerbread but have PM'd DG and got no response... So if someone knows a sure way to do this I would be grateful if you could share
According to this thread it looks like they've (temporarily?) pulled the gingerbread update. I'm hoping they fix the tetheringmanager force-close problem that it had.

Some how, some time, some where along all my flashing my product ID changed from ATT and Kies Mini would not recognize my phone.

Isn't he referring to the Infuse when saying they pulled it down?
Just a reminder that your phone has to be fully charged before you start the updates. Kies detects your battery and will reject your updates. What screen are you making it to? Are you allowed to click for the update, then get rejected?
It turns out that my product code got changed, even though I was backing up my EFS folder. I managed to get my product code changed back and backed up that nv_data.bin file and all is working as it should now. Thanks for all the help
Okay so i got my phone (US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S Mesmerize SCH-I500) from ebay and it came with gb 2.3.4 originally and i updated to 2.3.5 then later on to 2.3.6. After doing some homework i want to get back to froyo 2.2.2 but i cant!! I tried to flash back to EE19 via odin and it bricked my phone. Then tried flashing back to EC10 and it worked but what happens is it has no signal whatsoever (baseband is uknown/no phone number) pretty much everything is unknown except the build number/firmware version :crying: I just don't get what i'm doing wrong here guys. Every time i try to make the *228 phone call to activate it, it says phone is in airplane mode go to settings to turn it off to enable connections but it's not in airplane mode!!! I factory reset it took out the battery but nothing works!! Although i was able to flash back to 2.3.4 via odin and root it. But still i want to go back to froyo :/ Please someone help me get back to a working froyo :crying: I would so appreciate this if anyone can look into this for me for i am fairly new to android but i'm getting the hang of it If you figure this issue out get a hold of me anyway you can thanks everyone!!!
I am not a noob to rooting and flashing, but I am a noob to this forum. I recently bought a phone very cheap, a galaxy s t959v t-mobile. It had already been rooted and flashed with Cyanogenmod on JB 4.1.2. There were several problems with this phone including the keyboard would not pop up and it does not connect to a pc, whatsoever. So I loaded Slim Bean to an sd card and flashed it over to the phone. Now the WiFi toggle switch is grayed out, I can not turn it on at all. I have tried flashing a new rom, and so far from my research, there are only three for 4.1.2 jb on the Galaxy S T959v. None of these helped, and I have tried to flash the kernel but I can not get the kernel for the rom in a individual download. But the kernel that comes with cyanogenmod 10 titled JB Poop, which I believe is from the Proton kernel hasnt reverted it back either when I flash CM10. I have tried everything I know to do, have reformatted the system cleared all dalvik and caches to no avail. Can someone please help me with this situation!?! I have put countless hours into this and I can't seem to do it. And since it can't connect to a PC, I can't flash the stock firmware to it. And I know it wont connect, I have all the correct drivers, even have another Galaxy S I flash all the time also an S3 and S2 Tablet. I have even made a jig cable to bring it into download mode since the button combo to bring it into DL mode is disabled. But the pc nor any application on the pc never recognizes it, Odin, ADT, nothing recognizes it. But if someone can please just help with getting the correct kernel/module or technique that may fix this WiFi issue it would be greatly appreciated. Specs are Samsung Galaxy S T959V 4.1.2.
