Okay so this is a problem that I've always seen on Android but this is the first time I'm addressing it. When i download a picture that has a 480x800 resolution (like the G2x's) i think that it should fit perfectly when applying it as a wallpaper. Unfortunately, when i go to Gallery and find that picture i try to set it but it only gives me the option of setting about HALF of the picture. So when you actually set it it's blown up and pixelated. I always make sure it is the proper resolution. Is there something i'm missing? Thanks.:fingers-crossed:
This should help.

Thanks! So apparently you just have to double the width. 480x800 = 960x800.

I use wallpaper Casa, and sometimes HD wallpapers to set wallpapers on my cappy, but those walls seem really washed out and grainy on the transformer. Ne1 know of any honeycomb compatible wall paper app yet?

I noticed that the stock wallpaper is VERY CRISP...and most of my efforts and finding wallpaper that looks as good has been unsuccessful.
Also guys other than the extra walls pack posted earlier,I never found anything else related to tf walls

You should use the suggested above or 2560 x 1600. It works well. try picturecasa app, it's not that bad but the website version has more links.

I've been using 2560 images and none are as crisp as the stock "tree" wallpaper...
AFAIK, Honeycomb uses 1920x1280 images. The extra width is so it has enough room to shift the image when you change screens, and the height so that there's room to zoom the image out when you open the app folder, or widget srceen or whatever.
even when i use the suggested wallpaper dimensions none of the wallpapers ever look as good on the homescreen as they do on the browser... which makes no sense.
get the "wallpaper wizzardi" app. Its a bit buggy but it will take ANY image size, res, etc and make it look amazing on the TF.
Sometimes it gets black bars on the screen but all you do is switch it to landscape/horizontal and it will go back. Its really nice. Still buggy but nice.
i use wallpaper set and save with very large images that i find at wallbase.cc (at least 2560 x 1600) and i've got pretty crisp background images.
I use Flikie Wallpaper app, it auto sizes them for me and you get to pick from a bunch online, its worth it, great app
Guys check out this new app. Tablet wallpapers. Seems 2 b specifically for honeycomb.

I'm trying to find the perfect dimensions to use so that Honeycomb's crop box will fill the entire picture, and none of the suggested sizes have worked. Interesting...

Didn't see it on the market or a google search....got a link?
Ok, I'm sure that it's not only me having this issue, but
I'm trying to install the CleanROM 3.0 Wallpaper and any time that I do, it crops it and turns all pixelated. I've noticed this with any wallpaper I try to set that's not a system wallpaper.. is there any way to fix this??
I'm currently Running CleanROM DE 3.1
but i've noticed this on pretty much every ROM i've ran
here is the wallpaper
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27624455&postcount=24
I've actually spent yesterday figuring out how to do this in a super roundabout way.
I put the wallpapers I want into CleanROM 3.0 SE ROM itself. I edited the ROM zip file with 7-zip, inserted the background I wanted in the correct location and performed a full data wipe. Then I flashed it to the phone.
And walla, it works... I now have the 2 wallpapers I want in full resolution.
I'm sure there is an app that can put a full resolution wallpaper in your phone for you. I just never looked... lol
We had a similar problem with the HP Touchpad and a guy made an app on the play store to remedy it (here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5raGFubmluZy50cHdwYXBwbGllciJd)
Unfortunately it only works with the Touchpad's resolution, though if someone made an app to support our resolution then it would work fine.
Just resize it when you select the wallpaper. Touch the opposing corners on the crop box and drag to make it bigger.

I remember back when I first got my inspire and was using the sense launcher, i believe I used an app called wallpaper wizardii or something like that. Might be worth giving a shot.

np, glad I could help.
this is by far the best app ive found

I've been using Zedge to set my wallpaper. When I set it through the app, it doesn't seem to lose quality, but if I try setting it through Sense from the downloaded picture, it does lose some quality.
Look up "dodol wallpaper" in the playstore. I set some pretty damn high quality photos as my wallpaper. Always amazes people!
I use an app call wallpaper set and save. It will keep the resolution of the image you are setting as the wallpaper.
So every time I try to set a wallpaper it seems to zoom in a bit and become distorted. I've tried different resolutions and nothing seems to work.
I'm coming from an iPhone so I haven't used Android in a while and wasn't sure how to get it too work. I'm using GoLauncher as well.
Is there a specific resolution I need to use or maybe a setting??
Thanks!

Thanks!! I downloaded that and after playing with it a few minutes I got it to work. It's gonna be a little bit of a learning curve coming from my fruit phone
OK so I got wizardrii to set the wallpaper. But after a few hours it defaulted back to the zoomed in wallpaper.
I using Go Launcher, could that be causing it??
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
OK, I'm pretty sure that Go Launcher was causing the issue. From what I read it hasn't been fully update for ICS. I switched to Nova Launcher and am not having any issues with my wallpaper while using Wallpaper Wizardrii.
In Cyanogenmod, what resolution do you need for the wallpaper to fit the maximum border sizes?

Well, the Skyrocket has a screen resolution of 480 x 800, so an image with those dimensions should fill up your screen background perfectly. Is this what you were asking?
Somewhat. Whenever I try and use a wallpaper it shows the landscape and portrait view borders and I can never get it to go over that. Is there a way to get around that or am I stuck with it?

In a program like MS Paint you can make a large image (any color, black would probly be best), then paste the image you want as your wallpaper in the center.
Maybe make the new image that is 1440x2400 and just paste the wallpaper dead center. Thats what I did for the tablet I used to have an it worked pretty well.
If you have an OS other than windows I'd use Gimp.
Thanks! Never thought of that. Wish there was a much lazier way lol.

There's an app called Wallpaper Wizardrii that can do what you are looking for. It has tons of scaling options.

I have a question, now that the wallpaper isn't scrollable like in ICS, how are you suppose to crop a picture to use as a wallpaper? Just like the old one, or you could crop the picture that will fit the entire home screen? And can someone post a screenshot on how do you crop a picture to be used as a wallpaper? Thanks in advance!

That's what i wanted to know. Because on ICS, you can't use a 960x540p picture because of the wallpaper scrolling. Is it possible now with JB?

Well, you could always try until you find the right size. Not exactly hard nor very time consuming.

Sir, could you attach a screenshot where you crop a picture to be used as a wallpaper? I mean, does it always have to be 960x540 so that it will perfectly fit the entire homescreen without missing a single portion of the picture?
