You must have original stock ROM for the update. Without CWM and root.

I am running into the same but different problem, also to no response.
The solution is to remove CWM recovery then install the recovery. But before you do that, check your settings to see if you may already be at 4.0.4!
HTH
Another solution is to flash update you downloaded via www.samfirmware.com via odin or mobile odin

Hi,
I needed to remove clockworkmod and reinstall standard fw on my S5670 (UK) to sell it.
I reflashed using FW from samfirmware (S5670XWKQ2) and now it won't boot properly it just goes into a loop.
1) Is that the correct firmware?
2) I did it using Odin and the "One Package" setting is that correct.
3) How do I get out of this mess?
Would really appreciate someone more knowledgeables help!!
Thanks guys

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.............. I'm retarded................................
Thank you
I faced the same problem and to install an original rom had to uninstall CWM
Just reflash a stock rom using odin...that'll do it!!!!

Hi I've searched all over for the problem I've got but can't find the solution. My phone gets stuck in a boot loop when I put cwm recovery on and the only fix I've found needs Odin. I haven't got a computer so I was wandering if there is a zip I could flash that would fix the problem. Thanks in advance!

Did you try flashing the stock firmware image using fastboot (a guide for 4.1.1 is here, but applicable for any google image as such)
Once you flash the stock image, you can re-root and try flashing custom ROM's
I fixed it now all I did was unroot then root my phone again. Thanks for all the help and I will use these suggestions next time if this happens. Thank you all again thank you very very much.

I upgraded my I497 through Kies to JB 4.1.2 and got it rooted
I used the next procedure:
i used odin 3.0.4 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703998
Boot in to odin mode and flash TWRP from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228332 in the PDA tab and uncheck reset
then boot in to recovery and flash the "superSU and busybox" file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1534486&d=1354579840
which comes from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746794
